I understand those of the GM's that love this game and keep playing it. But from what I've been hearing recently about low sec wars, those who are in control of EVE should actually be *****ing down. I just started playing this game, infact have 2 accounts going. However I have heard some fairly Disturbing News as of late.. With this kind of BS going on in the game I don't even want to be a part of the Eve-Universe anymore. Anyway, The point of this is simply: GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER Eve or your game wont last.
 So in Conclusion: GSO DIAF GGC.

I sadly have to agree with Xul.
I came into this game a kid with high hopes that the universe was in combat with opposing forces and pirates.
But it turns out that we the people who pay to play, seem to be getting the short end of the stick.
One thing that all GM's must understand is that the customer comes first. Not your objectives as a player. In short if you are playing the game and you are a GM, you should stop.
This is the worst type of thing that can happen in a game. You dont see GM's in other games ABUSING THEIR POWER ON THIS LEVEL! For example the excuse we were fed as to why a GM can talk to a regular player/friend and not act in the best interests of the game, we were told simply that GM's are not robots. Seriously though GM is a job and a privaledge, not a tool to abuse and allow others incredible advantages. In other words unless every player gets access exclusively to a GM in their MSN, this should be considered an illegal act against the gaming community.
Sure a GM might kill off someone causing trouble. But to be to the point where you can influence the outcome of any battle? It leaves the new people playing this game wondering why they would even try to get further.
Like playing black-jack @ a rigged table.
In short if these types of actions continue I know a lawsuit will follow. Seeing as people are paying you for service rendered and not for you to basically take their money and then use the game to your own advantage. That is not what we agreed to in the terms and conditions of playing the game in short you need to get your act together and fire some one... the faith is slipping... quickly.
Please make an example of some one I hate to say that we the public require a scape-goat, but this type of situation demands more then a simple slap on the wrist and a note about investigations. We deserve the right to have the truth told to us, and not to find out about it off game.
In short again, Please EVE you have so much potential... why waste it on some loser GM?

Welcome to last month, actually it's probably about two months old and has been responded to by CCP's Internal Affairs department.
If you feel so strongly about it then leave, those of us who frequent this subforum don't deal with 0.0 politics and quite frankly we don't care, what we do care about is your loot and some even find your corpse quite comforting, disturing I know but everyone plays the game they want.

Um I thought i was clear on this I did quit. And as for the smear campaign, if I was going to do that, i'd make a webpage about how EvE sux, but it doesn't, in fact its amazing.. I love this game, I have spent way too much time outta the last couple weeks playing it. Now I do believe this 'cause I have seen stuff like this go down in the past in other games. now how about before making these pathetic assumptions how about you READ the WHOLE THING, you bloody tool, and not the useful kind like a hammer or a wrench you're like that extra set of alen keys that comes from ikea... USELESS.

there are many threads in the information portal forum about this, and while many of us are not happy with the CCP responses to, what we see as valid concerns, that have not been adequatly addressed that forum is the place to bring up these matters.
Many of us also , realising that CCP will not openly confront the concerns use outside gaming websites to ensure pressure is kept up on CCP to talk to its customers and accept that there is a large amount of distrust

ok first off this is not a smear campaign,
it is the voice of the people playing it. I dont care to leave EVE or be involved in any sideways antics. But to be frank if you READ THE WHOLE THING as listed as the "disturbing news" you will find that the people involved in this conflict of interest are simply players that loved the game, then got trampled on by an EVE GM's alterior motives..
In short I do not hate the CCP or hold any ill-will towards it, but I do feel that if you claim to be the admins of this entire on-line community you should care more about what the people in power are doing. And listen to what a small time reporter who offered his assistance witnessed. The idea that he would help report on the games great triumphs and then to be suddenly the words of a smear campaign... you sadly and merely, are an upset gamer.
This does nothing productive.
Acting like children is what got us into this mess, lets act like adults and responsibly get the people who are to be held accountable to come forth. We do not want the entire community to suffer, but I refuse to pay into a service that is digitally kicking me in the jewels, monthly. If this type of event occured there should be a "letting-go" of someone or atleast the removal of someones GM status, seeing as this is IN NO WAY FAIR TO NEW PLAYERS AT ALL. or to any existing players.
People have put more then 5 years into this game, which in equivalence in real money is 740 dollars CAD. So unlike people who have their mommies and daddies paying, we the working public actually care about our expenditures.
So to be upset that we find out that the game could very well be corrupt throughout, leaves us wondering, why are we paying for this?
I would not pay anyone 20 dollars a month to mess with me when Im trying to succeed at a goal. It seems to be pointless.
I hope that you dont take this as a smear, seeing as it is only stated FACTS. about the game and not claims, or presumptions without any investigation. Unlike the three second read-overs which are replying... in anger I hope that some of you actually read through all of it and come up with an actual OPINION, based on your OWN JUDGEMENT.
Please people, we play this game to get away from people that think like sheep. DONT BE A SHEEP! Be a wolf!

Whatever if you believe everything you read go live in the USA and be a part of the herd. What I wanted to say has been said, judging from the caliber of responses I wouldnt want to interact with most of you on a regular basis anyway.

My old corp is in the swarm and I witnessed these allegations first hand sunshine. Take everything with a grain of salt, if you take this stuff too seriously you'll never cope with reality.

It's funny how all this stuff is talked about in hushed tones as though, if true, CCP somehow pulled off the Scam of the Century (TM). But when you realise what the actual allegations are, they're beyond trivial.
I'm satisfied with how CCP responded to them, and the only reason they got the press they did is because CCP was unwilling to reveal the details of the allegations to the general public, which is entirely in keeping with how moderation in most games works, but had the unfortunate side effect of making it seem like there was some big secret to the allegations.
Seriously, the people complaining about this have blatantly never played a MUD where the devs are involved in the game, or worked for a company where complaints actually have to be judged on their merits rather than on the tone of voice of the customers making complaints. (In most businesses, 10% of your customers cause 90% of your headaches, and I'm sure EVE is no exception.)
It's all about perspective, and some people seem to have lost it.

Everyone is bored with the CAOD Goon Smear Campaign. Read it properly. The ISD person who revealed this information was rude to customers of the game and he decided to act like a ******. That and it appears that he revealed internal information under NDA.
OMG the RP storylines are rigged! OMG an NPC faction will lose a battle as a part of the story, ummm hang on it's an NPC faction not a player alliance, and RP events need a storyline or nothing will happen. That and it's also a story that never went ahead as it went on the scraphead.
So in summary; you cannot win an MMORPG as they are designed to continue forever, if you are a member of ISD and act like an idiot you will get kicked out (no surprises there), BoB did MSN someone at CCP but I don't care, and why don't you read the threads relating to this garbage and stop bothering the pirates.
I agree I don't have the features to be a holoreel star.
Most people have missed the point that this is Mobsters Online and that carebears are at the bottom of the foodchain. |
