Normally wouldn't post this, but take a look at outbreak's killboard, and take a look at there most recent battle.
26 ships vs 81 ships and killed about 60 ships. That is absolutely amazing, don't care who you are.
Great Job Guys, looks like it was fun.

24 hours in which DG doesn't lose a pod is 24 hours in which AXE's KB stats suck, FYI.
And gg 0utbreak. Were there a bunch of Logistics ships there that didn't get on killmails or something? Seriously, that's pretty fricking amazing, and hard to explain alongside the apparent ability of the enemy carriers to get out.

Edited by: Sandslinger on 13/07/2007 03:10:57 Was great fun some people reported bad lag personally I saw none of that.
Outbreak do bring it and obviously take sometime to consider their gang setups before heading out. We weren't as large at any point as what kb would indicate either as our guys kept going back to get more ships to get into the fight again.
To our defence I can say we popped an insane amount of fighters + large T2 drones. Possibly enough to make this a much more equal fight isk loss wise then Killboard stats would indicate.
Edit - Da**it i set my corp/alliance update damn you

it wasn't one fight it was 2.
first time we didnt have the massive number advantage it shows and i personally joined half way through the first fight so i cant say exactly what happened there. we regrouped to a safespot waiting on people who were on there way down to the system , got probed out sniping bs fleet warped , there 7 carriers warped in or cyno'ed in i cant really remember.
we cynoed in i think 4 carriers and a dread and from then on a huge fight ensued which probably lasted a good hour if not more, i wouldnt be suprised if we wiped out every fighter the outbreak carriers had but there logistics was just to good to take any of them down with the support we had at the time.
throughout the whole fight we had people coming down to join our gang as was mentioned and many people went through numerous ships during the time the battle lasted.
if we wanted to stop taking losses we could have done that from the offset but the fun was just to much and the urge to grab another ship to carry on was just to much for most of us to overcome.
great fighting from both sides imo with no smack and alot of "GF" comments in local at the end.
its just a pitty someone had to spoil it by making a thread like this for chest beating purposes

Nothing to do with chest beating. I was in area, seen the blobs / kills, looked at killboards and seen 81 vs 26 and the 26 won. To me thats impressive like it or not.

DeathGrip, you're just mad because we raped your Zealot in Khabi...
anyway
Outbreak, excellent fight. Loved it. Did you have to kill my blackbird? I mean, c'mon it was on fire already... I was already dying from the carbon monoxide in the cokpit.
Honestly we weren't prepared for PvP at the moment, not for THAT kind of PvP... but.. hey, in EVE, when is anyone ever prepared for anything? Outbreak had the strategy devised much faster, and CA/Sun are just beginning to work closely together.

Edited by: Mindlles on 13/07/2007 08:27:29 Was a good fun fight, as their gang where around 50-60? And we had 7 bs online, We had to use carriers, So we jumped in 4 carriers and 7 bs "bs sniping". On the gate, sadly freighter decied to magicel dissipear "ffs ccp is it not time to stop that stuff?".
We fought a little at the gate, was good fun. Then Ca + Sun let us probe their bs we realised they would have a captials on standbye.. It was late and we wanted to see how we would do ;P, so we warped in 4 carriers ontop off their big gang. They cynoed in i think 6carriers + dread ? "correct me if im wrong": !According to ca they had 4carriers and 1 dread! Wich is prolly right, i just knew there where ship everywhere ;P
Fight raged on for a hour, hour and a half, heavy support losses. In the end off the fight we got captial reinforcmet. Had 3 more off our carriers jump in, Their cap pilots then jumped out.
Was a great fight, no smack, nothing more then a slugg fest. And for the first 30mins i tought about the hassle with buying a new carrier ;P. Somehow that didnt happend.
And yeah in the last 10min i was fighting with t1 drones with my carrier ;P "after losing about 40t2berserks, and 18fighters": But who cares, its all in the good fun ;P

good job boys..
the carrier thing is still something im unsure with.. we all have them(and can afford to lose them) but cant decide when we should use them. we have even been practicing with them.
the way i see is it if u start using them, ur enemy will expect them which will then turn into a cap fight which is the last thing i want.. or even worse they dont engage u knowing that u "may" jump in cap ships, and only fight u when they have cap ships online.
ack who knows.

Our gang was travelling down towards hlw with a freighter.
2 OB Dictor pilots decided to play silly bugger's bubbling up the gate's ahead of us. We attempted to tackle them and failed on a few gates until we landed in the first dictors bubble just as the second dictor jumped in alongside us and subsequently got popped.
At this point we smelled that something was indeed wrong and asked the freigther pilot to log out for a minute - After the bubble went down - the freighter had already decloaked at this point, literally seconds after cyno comes up and 4 carrier's appear (So this wasn't a straightoff logoffski from our point of view, rather a tactical manoeuvre ahead of actually being engaged, like logging in a safespot the timing might have made it seem otherwise)
From here on in we engage the carrier's fighters popping them left right and centre but taking losses of our own
We disengage go to safe and start rallying capital pilots, which are ready in I think maybe 10 minutes maybe more. Simultaneously OB probes our support gang and lands on top of them. And the fight is back on our 4 carriers and a dread comes in and start laying down damage on one of the enemy carriers. and our support keeps on popping fighters and drones.
At this point our and OB's tactics diverge. The fight is taking place on one of the gates (not sure how we ended up here again) and OB has sniper instas set up which they use to put their support ships in and out of the fight constantly. All the while our Capitals was trying to down their caps. their carriers concentrates all their fighters/drones on each of our heavier support ship fighting at ground 0 one at a time. T2 to begin with and in the end just T1 (That many T1 drones still hurts )
They have 2 recons jumping in and out of the fight and dampening a carrier each time and we never quite seemed to catch them. The carrier we had primaried has what I assume was a officer SB on as it dished out the damage to fighters quite fast, also OB seems to have quite the logirep set up as one of their carriers tanked our entire capital damage output with "ease".
Just thought I'd put down a view from the other side. As to the troll going on about our exscuses. There is no exscuse we were outmatched and outmaneuvered(sp?) but kb's don't always give the full story in any shape or form.

So logging off is a "tactical manoeuvre" now? I disagree.

@ Kodos
The freighter logged off before attackers had entered the system and engaged our fleet Much like a ratter escaping hostile gang and logging off in a safespot rather then spending the next few hours warping between safes to avoid probing In this case with a rapier webbing it for instawarps. as well It's generally accepted practise the timing might have made it seem to you like they logged while still cloaked thus avoiding game mechanics..they didn't is what I was pointing out.
Had your capitals came in just slightly faster and the second dictor not got popped and so been able to lay down a second bubble prventing freigther from jumping out you would have caught it by valid gamemechanics.
You could have also had the second dictor aggro the freighter as it was there and decloaked thus preventing it logging safely to our luck you didn't.
