I've been trying to do some research on the so-called mega-corps and I've been trying to find what are the biggest corp (member-wise) around. I've found a few big ones but I was wondering if people knew of other huge corps. Post here if you do... I've seen names like Everlasting Vendetta (238 ppl) Tyrell (258) TTI (188) ... Any others? Thanks for the help

Hehe, yeah, of course the noob corps are HUGE, but I'd rather know about player-made corps for now ;)

I believe the Rona corps (Rona, RonaTech, and RonaKIA) have about 270 in total.

Yup. We were 250+ before the split. Becoming so large is just nuts and very hard to manage with just one wallet with multiple divisions.
So now we are 3, and still number 1 :)
Remember too that EV and RONA constantly kick out members who A. Are worthless B. Don't play C. alts, spies, or just people who got there but have no idea who they are.
I don't know about the other corps but EV and RONA actively boot to keep those numbers active.. not dormant

That is correct. Everlasting Vendetta, at last look, has around 220+. Main Everlasting Vendetta Veteran Member of the Stain Alliance |

Are all those corps based in 0.0 space? Or do some actually spend time in Empire space? That would mean that most of them must have 20-30 ppl online all the time, that must be quite interesting. Any other large corps out there?

Having 20-30 online all the time isnt hard to do. Weve got 20-25 online almost all the time and our total roster size is about 110.

who cares about mega corps
numbers don't show the active players
to have more than 100 members but only 40 or 50 are active and rest be ALTs or ghosts ... its a pointless show off
I'd refrase your main question....
Who are those corporations that show a REAL NUMBER OF MEMBERS where aren't include member's ALTs neither inactive members Now would be funny to see and confirm the replyes (if exist any)

I have to agree with you on this one...I guess I am going crazy, my current corp has about 60 members but it's rare to see more than 3-4 of them online...and very often, I can play alone for ours...the loneliness is killing me! Guess I was looking to see if there is any corp out there that have a decent number of active players and since you can mathematically assume that more members = more active members, it was a good way to start it.. So ok then, whose corp can claim to have at least 20-30 members on most of the time? :)

I know the feeling believe me
But to have fun isn't necessary linked to a corp size ... a small corp could be funniest enough it will depend on its members...
ur math my not be correct and the best approch for u would be to get a corp in ur TZ coz that way u may get more members online...
now ... big/mega/small all sufer from one thing ALTs and ghost members.... the trick is to get one that has real active members and only there are a few that kick their inactive members as policy...
beside u have always an option... coz if it isn't good enough the door to leave always on any corp

Tyrell has 262 ATM I believe. We are in the process of a top-down reorganization at the moment, so as part of that we will probably shave about 20 off of that soon (just an estimate). We do not intend to split like RONA, although it was discussed briefly.
I would like to make a couple points, however.
I have posted in another thread that Tyrell averages between 30-60 people online at any given time of the day. The important thing to note here though is that it is not the same people logged in all day long. So the comment that the numbers are meaningless is not true. I cannot speak for other large corps, but I know that Tyrell has people in nearly every major time zone.
As for the alts issue, it is true to a point that any corp this size will have a large number of alts. What I can say with certianty is that we have at least 150-160 real people in the corp, perhaps more and that's just off the top of my head from a glance at the in-game roster. I am compliling a comprehensive out of game personnel roster that details all of this. Tyrell will probably drop some 'dead weight' in the near future. That seems to be the trend with big corps these days. _____ CLS Civil Affairs Bureau

Well i have to say its not the size of the corp...its the quality that counts.
I remember when i was in MASS...worse corp i ever had the displeasure of joining, they were unfriendly, hierachy meglomaniancs and of course exploiting of which they were reported for :)
The corp i belong to now has prolly 30 members and we are all friends....live and learn eh :)

Undoubtedly, My corp also has some nice ppl in it and I've learned a lot witht their help but it seems that it is slowly falling apart as th enumber of active members are slowly dwindling away. I live on the East coast and it seems that everybody I know are either from Europe or the West Coast. Any corp out there with a decent number of people playing during EST evening?

Tyrell in its current form was the result of several mergers, hence the high online count. As for fun, we have a corp full of lunatics. Corp chat is more like a neverending comedy channel than a place to conduct buisness. If you wanna be serious, you usually have to go into Teamspeak or one of the dedicated in-game channels. _____ CLS Civil Affairs Bureau

See my post above. We have a good number of active players spread out over several timezones. End result is that we almost always have between 15-25 people online at any given time of the day, but unless its a pre-planned event at a convenient time for everyone, we rarely have over 25. It just seems that once we hit 25 or so online every time someone else signs on someone else is getting close to bed time and signs off.

MUC is in a similar situation. Through several mergers we ended up with about 50 or 60 real people in the corp. The rest of our numbers are alts. We tend to boot out inactives or "ghosts" and let them reapply whenever they start being active again. And corp chat can be a bit of a comedy fest from time to time, of course so can teamspeak. We have a number of real females in the corp (as opposed to chicks with d*cks), so the chat can be somewhat.. sexually charged.

Everlasting Vendetta corp chat is more like an episode of Red Dwarf.
We are similar to Tyrell, similar numbers but not the same people logged on throughout the day. Main Everlasting Vendetta Veteran Member of the Stain Alliance |
