A: Molotov.
A Drama In 3 Acts
Contents In a move to shut up a well-known smacktalker and his affiliates, Molotov Coalition [MLTOV] declared war on Rough Necks alliance [RAGE]. The war lasted 3 weeks and the objective was concluded last Sunday by the surrender and dissolution of RAGE*. Rough Necks lost 2 carriers and 120 more ships, tallying up to around 9 billion ISK. 45 pods were also destroyed, some of them with expensive/T2 implant sets. MLTOV lost 15 ships, totalling around 1b ISK, as well as 3 pods.
*one highsec corp is making a last stand as of now, see Epilogue
Prologue Being pirates, we had been roaming a lowsec pipe in the Metropolis region, going about our business. Being missionrunners, Spliffs [SPLF], Spiritus Draconis [SP-DR] and Eve's Brothers of Destiny [EBOD] - precursor corps to RAGE - had been going about their business running missions in a lowsec pipe in Metropolis. Being also carebears with an attitude (or in short Anti-Pirates), they were displeased with our presence near their home systems. So they did what carebears are supposed to do when they meet evil nber-pirates spawned directly from hell itself: they blobbed. And they smacked. Some time went by, and it was good. They camped the gates to their little pocket of space, trying to gank us whenever possible, and we went about our business, ganking them as often as possible.
- Act 1 - "I'll put ya down son"* As our piracy against their mission runners and miners began to attract more attention, their response blob became increasingly agitated. Every skirmish or standoff was accompanied by a healthy dose of smacktalk. Particularly from Killer Chick at the helm of his station-bound Nidhoggur, raging to try and get small gangs of cruisers and battlecruisers to engage him, his army of alts and an angry mob with torches and pitchforks. It was entertaining for both sides, and everyone was happy.
Things however rapidly escalated, as SPLF, SP-DR and EBOD also began camping the pipe gates, making it difficult for solo ships or small gangs to even move in the area. They also started actively hunting us and for good measure, a number of their ships always carried a Cynosural Field generator. Killer Chick would regularly cyno in the Nidhoggur with his usual brand of illegible rants close at hand. Be it either that we not engaged his carrier with cruisers, lost ships to an overwhelming blob with carrier support, or that we got away with some kills, anything was a valid reason to smack. Although his smackings ran the spectrum from insulting our mothers to arcane racial slurs, it soon became clear that these were the rantings of an egomaniac: a madman with terrible grammar and an Ahab complex. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
- Act 2 - "There's only one constant here. Memememememe"* Time went by, and our once independant corps of explosion enthusiasts formed an alliance, the Molotov Coalition. Not long afterwards EBOD, SP-DR, and SPLFS formed Rough Necks along with Alpha Corp [ALCOR] and Origami Ninjas[ORGY].
Having not forgotten the smacktalk about them being better than us, we decided to give them a chance to prove it. Plans were made to kick them where it hurt: right in the mission runners and low sec miners.
The first strike hit Killer Chick, when an opportunity presented itself to get back on his pesky Nidhoggur. Unusual for him, he was spotted away from the stations, so we moved in immediately. MLTOV forces baited his support gang away and a suicide Rapier held him in place under sentry fire until he was tackled. RAGE's entire gang was wiped out with minimal losses, culminating in the pod killing of Killer Chick. |

Edited by: Xonja 2zero on 14/07/2007 01:24:31 War was now officially declared and logistics got buzzing moving ships and ammo to the target area. Of course this was a good pick-up for getting exposed to more smacktalk.
Originally by: killer chick you stupid nubs cant fight yer way out a wet bag
Shortly after the war went live and a few smaller skirmishes, we got to see what RAGE had prepared for us in the first major fight. ECM. Lots of it. They also brought in some friends of theirs: neutrals from TKO who tried picking off flashy red MLTOVs. Despite being greatly outnumbered and getting jammed by a full squad of ewar boats and ECM-fitted battleships, we managed to kill 3 battleships, 4 battlecruisers, 2 cruisers, a Covert Ops frigate and a pod. Molotov left the field that day having lost 3 battleships and a battlecruiser, our worst losses in a single battle for the entire war. Exactly three minutes later the servers went down for the Revelations 2 patch.
Following the usual post-patch lagginess, we were slowly ramping up the war effort, engaging and killing Rough Necks in their home systems as well as mission systems in a number of smaller battles.
Killer Chick's smacking was proving to be a liability for the RAGEds, both dividing them internally and bringing more enemies to bear on their newly formed alliance. Sure enough, shortly after our war dec, an anonymous party hired Maelstrom Crew [MCREW] to throw in against Rough Necks. Given our shared goals we agreed to NAP each other and MCREW got to work immediately.
This was turning out to be an interesting war for sure. MCREW were perfect targets for KC's smackings and he quickly came to believe that we'd hired them on. Surely these "losey mercs" and assorted "noobs" would be no match for KC's superior tactics and organization...
Fighting alongside Maelstrom Crew was fun. We had agreed to do our separate ops, but obviously crossed paths in RAGE's hotspots. They always put up good clean fights and remained professional enough to endure the constant mud flinging. MCREW's contract ended after one week, probably due to the client realizing there was another fighting force already doing the job at no cost for them at all.
- Act 3 - "Get rdy, cue laughing dog from duckhunt"* War was going well now. Some of our slackers had tied up the loose ends and moved into the hot zone. RAGE were taking a beating regularly now and changed things up on us by camping stations. From inside. It looked like there were tensions developing, as Killer Chick was still running on full throttle spreading hot verbal love, while everyone else avoided fighting us wherever possible.
Originally by: killer chick do me a favor and kill em some more i want to weed out all the nubs like ken
At this point Killer Chick announced he'd hired mercs to come "crush" us all summer. As war had slowed down somewhat, we were excited over new targets that would be willing to fight, with proper setups and experience. Few days later, the wardec mail from Star Buccaneers [BUCKS] arrived.
Originally by: killer chick oh well i can affrord em and they seem willing to kill you all summer
For a measly 5 billion ISK however, Liga Freier Terraner [LFT] and their alliance mates Caille Insurance Inc [CA.IN] didn't seem all too willing to fight us. They did show up. Sometimes. After the first major engagement with a recon gang of theirs, their efficiency dropped to 6.81% according to their own killboard. They didn't make a lot of effort to come for us after that, but instead stayed in highsec doing what bored mercs probably do. Camp a station. From inside. |

The only Rough Necks even left in the area at this point were Killer Chick and a few select alts/sycophants. KC had taken to smacking from the perceived safety of his Vagabond, Nidhoggur or Naglfar and was unwilling to engage us without the safety of a dock button. After his shield-tanked statioNaglfarÖ got put to 30% armor by a MLTOV carrier, dreadnought and battlecruiser, he resorted to harder-to-catch ships. His Vaga got caught by a Vexor.
His other Nidhoggur died to 5 battleships, 2 battlecruisers and sentry guns. Famous last words before he got bumped off station: "Yawn, i can tank you all day. AFK". None of his alliance mates came to help. His pod met its fate shortly after.
Originally by: killer chick il just pettion it
Rough Necks, now seemingly worn out, were finally offered terms of surrender. As expected, their initial answer seemed totally oblivious to the destruction that had befallen their alliance:
Originally by: killer chick no surender here son
ORGY had left the alliance a few days before hand. Three days and several smaller encounters later, [SP-DR], [SPLFFS], and [EBOD] left the alliance, calling their mercs off at the same time.
Epilogue RAGE have kept their holding corp, which belongs to Killer Chick. The only other corp now left in RAGE is Alpha Corp, a corp focused on production and mission running. For reasons unknown to us, ALCOR has refuse to surrender despite a successful siege and destruction of one of their hi-sec research POS and our commitment to keep hunting them.
As for the other corps, we will keep an eye on them. Should they rejoin the alliance - supplies are still in place and our jumpclones slumber in stasis next to our battlescarred ships, ready to be awakened for more slaughter.
Good Fights to most everyone involved, and thanks to KC for the show. Encore?

Movie time!
That has two or three fights from the war (flashy orange = war target) with some random stuff in it too iirc. I didn't get fraps of the second carrier going boomski unfortunately :( There's another movie made by Ken floating around somewhere that's in a much higher res and way better quality that shows one of the same fights and some others too. I'll see if I can't dig it up.

Congratulations Molotov on a well fought war. It was fun, to say the least, watching this unfold over the last few weeks. That was an especially nice battle report, and the quotes are all too true. Generally I like KC, but he's got too much bark. Way too much bark. I am downloading the vid as we speak. Hope it's good. ______________________________ Endless Horizon Director of Public Relations -Zoltar

Fantastic read. Those of you who didn't take the time to enjoy Xonja's account missed a very well-written story about the the defeat of a very bothersome person. KC made his own bed over the course of several months with actions in-game that were consistently detrimental to his image -- both as a player and as a person.
I would like to be an optimist and say that after all of this, KC might actually wise up a little in his interactions with others in the Eve universe. However, I'm enough of a realist to know that he probably won't. --

Great write up of your war. Sounds alot like ICA vs RHNVY back in early RMR. I was on the receiving (ICA, carebear) end at the time. But now they are all good buddies of mine because they basically introduced me to pvp by wooping my butt. Take all the best non-smacking carebears and turn them into real PVPers

Actually we thought that at the time - you guys are well known for good fights and I think regardless of the result it would have been really fun to pit our gang against yours! Unfortunately when we are under contract we are obliged to focus on our targets and a potential whipping from you boys would have interrupted that. It's the one downside of being a merc.
