When I was a nub I thought being new to the game meant people who had been around for months or years must know the game better than me.
Now I look back and realize how wrong I was... -

I remember *sniff* when i eventually got a rupture cruiser, biggest Minmatar on the Market at the time, And Cruisers were the biggest ships Available.
Others.... Heading Into Great Wild Lands 20 jumps to pick up one of the few Tempest BP copies available & Blue Prints of Large Ammo. Travelling to the same trading Pyreite , making 5isk per piece, Hauling 15 Jumps repetedly in an un-escorted Mammoth. PF-346 Being Fun For Killing NPC's in Peace. 5000 players being a a lot on at 1 time. Hunting Great Wildlands, and trading runs in same mammoth to sell ammo.
*sighs again* so many memories

My biggest noob moment was when I was in IAC. I had just trained to use a Buzzard, and I wanted to learn how to probe people out in safespots. A friend agreed to sit in a frig in a safespot in RNF.
To cut a long story short. One hour and 30 Snoop Probes later I say on vent (with my friend still sitting in the same safespot), "Ohhhhh, you gotta click the analyze button".
Everyone on vent, including me burst into tears of laughter, and they never let me forget it, not even today

Originally by: Jimer Lins I almost melted down a Dread Guristas Invulnerability Field because I didn't have any idea how valuable it was. I checked its stats and thought it was pretty nice so I held on to it, but since I quickly learned that Gallente ships armor tank, it sat around until someone in my corp mentioned offhandedly they wanted one, whereupon I checked contracts and damn near choked.
Now THAT would have officially sucked. ________________

The days of, kestrals with cruise missiles were fun, but, I can remember begging my first corporation to buy me a bestower!, lol that was funny, now its just "trash it" here and there.
Or, trying to skill 2 characters up at once I did that when i first started and lsot out alot!
Ohwell, those were the days! And, being able to have a decent conversation with "el Lord Zappo" cool guy,
Seeing a JOKERS CORP pilot in space was always abit novel if abit terrifying.
My god I could go on all day..

I did that a week ago, and killed a Raven, truly amusing! (It was supposed to be a joke, but hey I'm not going to complain if I actually got the kill. Hey it must be weird for people looking at it on the KB)
My biggest noob moment was me being a nub, I was in .4 and I wanted to see what would happen if I offlined my guns, so I did, and was promptly attacked without any way to fight back :(
Also most recently,
I caught myself thinking about training up Caldari >.<

One of my worst noob moments was when i decided to go ratting in my brand new thorax (rails and shield tank). The spawns were a bit different at that time as the respawn rate would steadily increase over time if you left one of them alive (no despawns at all). Killed about 80 frigs or so and was in a really good flow, totally happy with locking + F1-F5. Then i ran out of ammo and the containers of the destroyed frigs were littering the belt so much i constantly bumbed into them and couldnt warp out. With constant use the med shield booster drained my cap pretty fast and shortly after that i was heading back home in my pod.
Today i always pack some extra ammo and have an eye on how much is left when hunting or roaming.

I remember going to Yulai for the first time, to pick up something I bought.
I almost shat myself when I saw the "1" on the security rating, not noticing that there was a lack of a decimal point in front of it
Mind you, these were the good old days when some ****er with a Tempest and some sensor boosters could instantly kill a shuttle or a frigate beyond gate gun range and without any hope of retaliation.
... by the way, do any of the DOOOOOOOOOM people remember their prophecies about just how horrible it would be if we didn't all have to have those stupid "instas?"

Had just scraped together my first 800.000 isk and bought a bestower, and was brutally podded in Aunenen by Lord Zap and Ywev. That could have happened to anyone mind you, but what made me such a noob was that the AP warped my pod back to their camp *pop*

Getting into my first cruiser, it was an opsrey thinking I could tank anything in it, then realizing I can't.
Taking on 3 battleships in my torpedo blackbird and thinking I won because I didn't die.
Zooming around in a duel/tripple MWD standard launcher fitted raven spewing cruise missiles unable to be touched by any other battleships thinking they all sucked at eve.
Finding a mine field for the first time and flying into it to see what happens when a kestrel hits about a 100 mines in 10 seconds.
Dropping 1000's of mines in empire and not knowing that my security status takes a hit for every time someone hit my mine.
Getting concorded because I shot missiles at a war target in a fast frigate that knew if he hid behind a station. he knew concord would do his job for him when the missiles impacted the station. Fear the Ibis of doom!

Hehe. Here a nice story.
Back in Bourynes August 2003. Mined the bloody hell out of the stones. After 5 months or so (I did NOT trained the learning skills) I quit.
1 1/2 years later all corp mates gone and I joined a well known german corp (was 2005 or so) GCDC. I arrived in Curse and want to mine a bit. Put my Harvesting drones out and mined. After the BS spawn cames in I warped out and forgot my drones. Now this drones had cost back in 2003 80 k ISK. But in 2005 its worth was about 8 Million ISK 8-)) So I lost like 80 Million ISK in dumbness
Hope you enjoy it 8-)) Where is my Tech III Ice Harvester??? |

Realising after about 3 days I could put ammo in my cargo, up to that point I'd been loading ammo direct into my guns at the station, going out, using the ammo, redocking, loading up . Damn those missons took some doing.
Thinking a medium shield booster and three small shield boosters on a caracal would tank anything.

I just joined the game, and I'd made a horrible starting character (high char, ugh) and so a friend of mine helped me through character creation a second time after about a week, so that I'd have decent atribs and starting skills.
He then gave me 5 million isk to start me off with a nice little frigate and to buy some skills. This was very kind of him and because I'd been warned profusely about the dangers of getting podded without a clone... I spend 4.6 of that 5 mil on the best clone I could get... with about 320K skillpoints :) ----
nothing to see here, move along nicely now, is that a pink dread out there. aaww you just missed it -eris

i think my noobiest moment was when i first started pirating and i got my first kill in my trusty kessie when i then warped to a station (back in the days of 15km) and lost my ship
another bad time for me was when i finally got a my first faction spawn and i clicked the wrong button and torped the loot --------------------------------------------- no sig for you !!! |

Yesterday I was flying around in a rifter on mah alt in lowsec to do some pirating. I gave the order to jump to the next gate but forgot all about EVE for about 5 minutes. Came back to my pod and a nice wreck with a serp bc flying around near the gate. Good thing that it was only a rifter ------ --Don't get saucy with me Bernaise!-- |

Ah...memories...back in '04 when there was no WTZ... I remember askin my corp for a raven even tho i had only 3mill sp. Didn't quite get why back then...but now i understand the reasoning ;)
Still capable of doin stupid stuff tho...just yesterday i was in a malediction inty, had a hostile caracal trapped at a planet waiting for backup. I coudlv'e warped, but no...F1-F3...webbed/scrammed... his shields were at about half when i popped :(
O yea and working for almost a week on lvl2 missions just to get 3mill to get a blackbird...when now anyone in 0.0 can make that with one spawn O.o

Spent the first two weeks greedily "holding on" to my initial 80k sp I think it was. I didn't want to "spend it" until I knew what I should "spend it" on, or until I figured out how to earn more of them.
