I wasin the middle of a mission, my drones suddenly stopped responding, my comms went down and my missiles would not fire. After a while I lost connection to the server.
Before anyone says ISP, I have two connections on two PCs, via two different ISPs, both went down at exactly the same time.
Now both are stuck on authenticating, and eventually timeout with The server did not respond to the client's secure-handshake within a reasonable amount of time.

Myself, and corp mate are both getting the same thing, tried to log in about 10 minutes ago. We're both in Auckland, New Zealand.
EDIT : Server status stuck on 'checking status' guess its down :(

I believe server down, as my 2 ID logins are unable to authenticate at this moment with the server with like #400++ login queues

I as well am likely to lose a ship to this downtime.
My petition-writing fingers are already itching. Oh wait, that's the mosquito bites.

same happened to me and a few corp mates lol we are talking about in on vent... luckly i was just docked and sorting out my loot

Yeh Cant log in here at all, finished a mission, went to close it and the agent conversation wouldnt load.
Went to re-load eve and now i cant get on, it gets to authenticating and then times out....
shout out if anyone hears of an eta

No connection here either, and I was just logging on to swap over a skill before heading to work, oh well be at least 2 1/2 hours before I can get on again assuming its fixed by then :(

Thank god I docked... i was in a middle of a fight when i noticed everything was firing way too slowly so i warped out... there goes my mission time completion bonus lol...

It appears the server has obviously 'frozen', I am sure there would not be exactly 17,228 people on the server for the last 15min, when people cannot log on!

Hah....I was disconnected about a half hour ago for 20 mins.. Now again.. First time after I got back in I went into the help channel and asked why the server went down, they were all confused and didn't know what I was talking about... Saying it was my ISP.. etc... I'm on the east coast of Canada..A corp mate disconnected also... But some didn't... And he lives in the central region of the states... =S... What's going on here?

One of my corp-mates (who lives close by) stayed online when I got kicked and he had no problems. I haven't been able to log back in either.

I've learnt my lesson from the previous patching that the server is **ALWAYS** unstable after a patch, so I always leave a 4-day skill running after a patch.

The patch was so little though.. Only 4 things came with it and they were tiny improvements.. I don't even know why it took so long for them to patch that to begin with =S... Something more is going on that they're not putting in the news =(

Soz people , it all my fault, got up early to play for a couple of hours before work, same thing usually happens to me on my other mmorpg's as well :(:( book a day off, I'll have missed the 'urgent patch' notice :(:( |

This is very wise - I'll be taking your advice next patch day.
And hopefully it comes back up within 1 hour 23 minutes, need to change my skills!

Same here same symptoms, trying to connet now shows 17228 players online. Once when I fired up two instances of the client at once I got 600 in queue, most of the time it doesn't show im 'in queue' though. - and now it's showing status unknown....
and..
I thought I heard a sound.
Like thousands of drones at once yelled out to their masters and then were silent...

What fun. I had a trade window open with an alt... 1.5bn worth of kit including pos parts and fuel into oblivion (not in either chars hangar anymore).... I wonder how many weeks till I get the petition answered.
