On one hand, its amazing that an announcement of the desync issues being fixed hasn't been responded to for nearly an hour except for my post.
On the other hand, its buried in the 4th page of a thread in a forum almost nobody reads.
Considering how important this issue is to so many players of EVE... I think it needs a bit more of an announcement.
Originally by: CCP Explorer We now have a confirmed fix for this issue and we are planning to release it as a part of Revelations 2.1 next week.
Revelations 2.1 is a "Need for Speed" upgrade; we're upgrading to Stackless Python 2.5 and we're compiling the Python interpreter using the new Profile Guided Optimization (PGO) feature of Visual Studio 2008.
There is a clear reduction in memory and CPU usage and we'll have numbers to publish at the time of release.
In addition we're fixing a few other defects, in particular performance related issues. More details later in the patch notes.
Thank you, CCP. If this really works, I'll lub you again

I laughed for 5 minutes at the shot at Crystal Pepsi.......
.... then I agreed with the rest of the post. The realtek BSOD issue is almost as bad as the desynch (if not worse since it happens much more frequently to the people that it does effect, which is a large portion of the eve pop.) and it has gone an extremely long time without even a dev saying "we are working on that."
If CCP has fixed the desynch thing, *cheers ccp* now if only you could figure out a way to determine from the server logs, a way to verify the Rraven I lost the other day thanks to that particular "feature."

Some of us don't care how they do it. I honestly feel that all resources should be put towards making the game stable before anything else is done. If you can afford multiple departments you can afford more bug testers and database coders to fix the annoying ****...I'm not gonna whine constantly but every time something pops up that costs me days or weeks in time I'm sure as hell gonna say something. You want a example there are guys waiting 10+ days to get their billing issues sorted out. And this is assuming that the desync issue is 'fixed' and will stay that way, but I'm going to try to be optimistic.

Sooooo.....
In a similar way to how you got the Jita lag trade window exploit fixed, the only way to get long standing bugs fixed is to give them a cooooool hip name like "DeSync" and suddenly it becomes fashionable for people to suffer to it, and whine a lot.
Can we call the next bug "iDrone" or "Dual Display Overview"?

Said doesn't mean a fix for desyncs. Desync most likely is algorithmic problem rather than something related to performance of python interpreter.
P.S. I still don't understand why CCP is using python interpreter in a system with crytical performance issues...

It was tech2 Pepsi. However it was nerfed when they realized it was overpowered as drinkers were still able to see knife wielding maniacs coming to attack them while drinking it. It was determined by a panel of experts that this was far too large an advantage and as such was removed from the market. Apparently there are still some units available via the contract system.

Assembler. ID Software seems to use it very regularly and successfully.
Given all the DB server "issues" lately, I am personally less apt to blame the stackless python (which is experimental) and more apt to blame the shoddy MS product CCP uses for a DB server. MS SQL does not scale well, and I think CCP is just about out of magic like RAMSANS to keep shoring it up.

Crystal Pepsi = Good. Diet Pepsi = Not So Good Paying >= $9.99 for a can of soda I plan on drinking, the jury is still out on that one.
Crystal Pepsi was just Pepsi without the coloring in it. However, that was a mind**** to people, so they thought that it must taste different, even though it didn't, it just looked better. The early 90s were "inagurated" with a clear-craze. Anything tranlucent must be healthier. There were even such fun things like Crystal Gravy.

k, so desync is fixed, possibly.
Too bad we have jumping problems now... running dual account 30 jumps on ap... each jump adds 0.05GB in exchange files( that correct word?) So after an hour moving around.. system start locking up. Maybe I need to change settings, who knows... but yesterday I could run three accounts doing more than today with 2.

Getting a bit annoying, fix a bug, introduce a new one.
Its fixed?.... its not?....
an according to most the ppl in my thread: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=562549 they havent seemed to have fixed ****... in fact it seems worse with all the crashing...

I found this to be one of the more hilarious things I've read on these forums, and that's saying something.
