Commodore Andrews, Vasili vonHolst and their associates are running a confidence scam in high sec empire. A number of corps and players have reported and I have experienced first hand their nasty tactics.
First you may be convo'd or somehow find you have a new 'friend'.
Conversations will be generated by the scum bags about mods, equipment etc while they decide if you are valuable prey.
After a few weeks of supposed 'friendship' you may be invited to run a mission.
Their two corps have a bogus war dec between them ( a one man corp and a 3 man corp) this allows them to safely kill you whilst ganged in high sec without concord interference.
You will be gang warped to a ss to be killed rather than to the beginning of a mission.
Between me and another account I lost 4.5b of kit. A Thons inv field, a gist-c type x-large booster, Navey Raven, Nighthawk, and various other items. The isk I used to buy those items was generated through the sale of a 2004 account I had.
Their actions have created misery to many other players, mission runners in empire. If you see them flick a finger a the very least.
Oh and any donations are welcome, ccp won't help stop their scam or reimberse me even though they know they are doing it know. SO I need to get my isk back somehow. The charity hat is out for the filling.. Thanks and look out for those miserible low lifes.

I believe there is a warning when you are going to gang with someone. Try reading it sometime.

Warning was seen but the total players between the two waring corps totalled 5 so I assumed the war dec between them was bogus. As it happens it was but not the way I expected.

Doesn't it say something like if you join this gang and he's at war with someone you'll be shot or something like that when u join? i'm pretty sure it does.
Typical scam tbh, nothing new.

when done "properly" the warring group joins the gang After the mark, which keeps the mark from seeing the "member of the gang at war message"
nevermind. you got the proper message and ignored it and/or believed that they were just messing around. no pity for folks who get TOLD "hey, you could get shot, like right now!, by these guys, right now!"
see also: "lofty scam" and/or "war gang exploit"
so remember what happened, pass the word to other folks but Dont whine, because its technically legit (just crappy). and trust most people a bit less.

When I see someone post something like this, I often wonder if it's an attempt to get money by making up a false story. Especially the ones signed with "donation appreciated" or similar, or the ones where someone says he's giving isk to the op.

Trust doesn't exist after a few weeks. I don't even fly expensive ship or use expensive mods when I do missions with people from same corp. You never know who is in control on the other side of computer. Thus don't trust anybody. A friendly person in this game is bad for health! Trust no one is the key...

Seems like a lot of work for ganking 1 carebear, even if they did 4.5b in damage... Did they get some good loot of you too? I certainly hope so, for all their effort.

That more people will have the chance to avoid similar scams or indeed more nasty game play from Vasili vanHolst and Commodore Andrews brings some relief from what to some may seem like only a small loss but to me not so small. Its only isk.. but the real value of that isk is subsription payments from 04 to 07. Approx $800, which looking at it now isn't a lot of money either lol.. But its the principle!!!!

you guys stop saying he is wrong for wrning us, it is good he is warning us.
To know the people who will do this even after there is trust is very useful.
Only thing is, that it is unrealistic and lame for this to be able to happen and nothing happen to the ones who di it.
Gangs should not have any rules to them at all, that way if anyone shoots you no matter what and is not at war with you, then they should get Concordockined like every one else.
