I'm in 0.0 ratting with a cloak, so i guess i'm "farming isk" since i'm accumulating it. I'm not selling it, but i'm still farming it. Am I not allowed 0.0 access since i'm not in a corp? Or am I suppose to log off, or, better yet, lose my ships everyday?
nothing needs to be done. They run away from you, log off, etc. Scare them away.

nothing needs to be done. They run away from you, log off, etc. Scare them away.
This isn't "I ninjarat in 0.0". This is "I'm in this system 24/7 and rely on a cloaking device so I can take all risk out of the equation".
EVE is all about balancing risk vs. reward.

Maybe you don't sell the ISK, but many of those cloaky ******* do, which is bad for the game. Hence, yes, something needs to be done.

Changing something because Isk sellers do it is bad policy, especially with the price for ISK having crashed so low. Nothing needs to be done.
and it's debatable if isk sellers are bad for the game or not. There is sound economics behind it. Other than CCP saying they don't want RMT, there is no way you can say isk sellers are destroying Eve.

Last I heard, you can't do anything when you are cloaked, so how can you possibly farm isk while cloaked?

If CCP nerf local at least a little, we would have better chances of killing isk farming Ravens in 0.0

If there was a group of hookers working on the street near your house, would you be worried? After all, they aren't threatening your or anything, they are just there, working. What if you have family and kids?

Its a pretty big problem. If you don't believe me go into fountain and go through I dunno, 5 systems and count the people you see with names like "ethamk" or some random letters... They are in almost every system farming 23/7 to sell.
It really is annoying for us people who want to rat to make isk to actually play the game as intended, not to sell.

hookers near my house IRL != Isk farmers in a videogame, not even close. Besides, the hookers would be cloaked anyways when you came out on patrol :P invisible hookers ftw

It is quiet the same to me. And many other people feel same way.
I want these people gone or at least get a fair chance of forcing them to leave. I need local nerf to do that.

Hows that? you'd still screw it up in some fashion or another; no AI I know of can look at a window in an O/S and make decisions based on pixel colouration and configuration. Meaning these farmers are people behind the keyboards who are just quicker on the draw than you.
Remove local would not solve anyones problem except take something out of the game that doesn't need fixing to make you feel better. Suck it the **** up, friend.

What a horribly misguided view.

- Local nerf doesn't take something out of the game, it ADDS something to the game. It adds the need for active scouting. It adds to the pvp combat tactics wich people can use. It adds to team work by rewarding those who share gathered intelligence.

- It does need fixing. The current state of local chat wasn't intended by game design. It is essentially a bug that has been turned by CCP into a game feature simply for sake of convenience. But it is still a bug, and one day it should be fixed to get EVE more inline with its main ideals - harsh world where people need to use their brains to get ahead, where 0.0 is dangerous for those who want to solo farm isk in the belts, and where people have to work together to get the best scouting info.
Local chat scout info is for lazy people. Lazy people should stay in empire.

Pre - rev2 some limited testing was done on fixing cloaks. However it did not meet the 'feature freeze' for rev2. We are supposed to be getting some changes 'before rev 3'

Of course you'd not need 5 alts in local - just like you'd not know your enemy is in local, he'd not know you were either, unless one of you attempts some 'intel'
CCP has stated that local was not meant to be a means of gathering intel, and right now its the biggest intel gathering tool in Eve

It's much easier for him to go through some belts quickly checking in an interceptor than it is for me to somehow think 'oh maybe theres a guy in the system ill randomly stop'
4 alts, 1 on the other side of each gate, watching for someone to jump in and of course my character sat killing a couple of rats - it'd be easier for me to just go to high-sec, no risk at all, even less risk compared to 0.0.

Maybe put in a module in the game to find cloaked ships using the built-in ship scanner. It would be very close range, but allow for people to find ships that sits within 150k of them.
