Not to sound sarcy but the American Midwest is suffering from some horrendous flooding... much more disastrous than just some canceled trains and closed roads.

yeah? in the Planet Of The Apes humans became slaves to monkey masters. Aristotle's nightmarish vision of dystopian future is nothing compared to that.
