I find it interesting that Roadkill and SMASH have put themselves into a postition where E-UNI is a threat to them. The Geminate Curse lives, my friends. _

This to me shows a distinct lack of nuts if big bad 0.0 SmashKill is considering paying someone to shoot some newbies. If they have a problem with E-Uni (theorized in previous posts) or anyone at all, they should use their mighty 0.0-resident power and retaliate on their own dime, not drag in the thrice-spanked Privateers to attack the Uni. I therefore suggest that SmashKill have very small man-parts if they go through with this attack-by-proxy. Do your own damned dirty work.
And to Hooch, never feel bad about doing your job. If you're mercs, you live to get paid to shoot people. End of story.

Hooch,
I think it's pretty decent that you came and ask for some opinions on this. Not that my opinion matters for much.. but anyway.
One thing to remember is that although you're mercs, you don't have to take every contract you are offered. If this one makes you feel uncomfortable (which it sounds like it does), well, why not ignore it. Hell, ask for donations for a counter-contract and thus encourage others to not mess around with hapless newbs. ...I bet a few people would throw some isk around for a week or two of war, just to teach 'em a lesson.

Just to point out here, do not assume who the parties are, you might be wrong, or right.
Personally speaking for Privateers, business is business. If a Noob corp has decided to pick a fight or at the least bare their teeth then this is to be a part of the advanced course for the cubs you have taken under your wing.
If alliance "A' wants to keep their hands clean or not be bothered, thats why we do what we do. Eve is a great game and the first thing I learned here almost 3 years ago is if your going to make it you get tough, or you get smart and you can get splattered often based on your choices.
Thanks for the comments, good and bad.

Well, consider where the information that they are a threat comes from.
A lot of people have claimed that they are a threat to us, and flaunted very impressive killboard statistics to prove the claim. Yet still we haven't moved an inch.
I admit, not having working station services in BWF can be somewhat of an annoyance, but not a lot more. Any and all attempts to take our territory have been dealt with properly. There just are other things on our agenda.
Ivy league is a welcome distraction, the fact that they are surprised that SMASH stands by R0ADKILL sort of illustrates how well they thought through their actions in Geminate.
Please Ivy-league, stay as long as you want.

Edited by: Himo Amasacia on 21/07/2007 15:39:17 Seeing as I was a uni member recently and saw first hand the crap what led to this I'll toss in my 2 cents.
Basically what lead to this situation was the guys coming in from 0.0 and harassing eve uni. Everything has lead from the decision from certain members of RK that they could not feel their pants expand when fighting real opponents that could kill them so they came to empire where they could rely on the protection of concord to practice their stupid crap. They went in and stole ore, flipped cans tried to get killrights so they could trick people into shooting them when the rest of the uni could not help. And sometimes even that didn't work cause they died anyway which ment that they would be back filling local with their smack. (by the way to the guy that repeatedly tried to open trade windows with me to con me out of stuff, I hope you liked it when you paid me 0.01 isk for a basic mining laser and then paid me 0.01 isk to take it back. Best 0.02 isk I ever made) If I was RK what I would do when the rampages started was to find out that the hell was going on, take names, form a gang, get those people out in their best ships, blow up those ships and boot their ass. And then focus on important opponents rather than those we have rightly ****ed off and would not even be there casueing havoc if it wasn't for those whose epeen is a little too small for their microscope.
Or if I was an ******* I'd form a fleet to fight the rampages.
I certainly would not hire mercs on them. And I would not come on this thread talking tough cause you haven't lost stations (they are shooting off the fittings off them? Ouch! ) frankly doing that makes you look a little ridiculous.
Regardless Silentbrick is a top class FC and I pity anyone that goes against him. Game on Uni! Fore!
My opinions, not my corp allance etc.

asuming that it was smashkill that is askin gfor this contract ( i know nothing about it) it would make sense to me. its easy for some corps and alliance to come a couple jumps into 0.0 with 25 nanoclaokers, or 50 t1 frigs cruisers and bs, risk nothing, grief a little bit and then jump back out of 0.0 at teh first sign of a real engagement. but it would be close to impossible for a 0.0 alliance to leave everything , fly out to empire and do the same. why not pay an alliance which claims to be a mercenary for hire that takes care of empire targets. the ivy league wants to teach eve university to pew pew, than please do i think that is what makes eve great that new players can come in and fight against players who have been at it much longer. but i think ivy league is only showing one side of the coin. there are consequences for every action. ivy league seem to be teaching the eve U pew pew kids that they can come pew pew and run away with no consequences maybe its time someone else showed them there are some. if you pick a fight( im saying you picked the fight ivy league because just like you we have a large number of members and what some of them do in empire is their business. but it was you who came into our claimed territory in numbers with the intent of retaliating against our alliance as a whole) sometimes the person fighting back will use the same illusive tactics you use against them. you dont seem to want a "real" fight in 0.0. as illistrated by the fact that as soon as there is " a fight u cant win" wich aparently constitutes a force of more than five hostiles in system, you run. so why not hire some one to do the empire work fo rus. i doubt we would get out into empire in force to fight you. and i would rather the eve u boys and girls get taught properly, that there are consequences to attacking a large 0.0 alliance even if you dont think they will chase you in large numbers out into empire.
again, im nothing but a foot soldier in smashkill, i dont know if we are really doing this or not. i know nothing about guys turning cans to attack you in empire, i hope they are. you liek to come and stir the pot in 0.0 whenever you can, i see no difference myself. but if it were another 0.0 alliance and EVE U, i would be patting them on the back and saying "good show" make sure they learn a good lesson. I myself wouldnt leave the friendly fun confines of 0.0 to come hunt eve u in empire, so paying someone to do it seems like a good choice to me

dude its not ivy leage who did that, havent seen them much atall it is cruel intensions who shoots oure station services at oure weak timezone and we have np repping them in oure strong timezone, but lately we havent reppedall as we dont care that much about them anyway, if ci wants to waste ammo on them then so beit, we rep them for free
and to the rk above my post, hiring mercs is not a option for RK, scooter1 would never accept that stuff payment is not a problem but we yust wont do that .

what's so special about ivy league? war decable like any other i say. ya hitch up the gun belt, means yur ready to fight. runnin back to empire shouldn't change that. joining ivy is a good thing, the more gun fights ya get can only make it better.

Well the loot that drops from the 600+ ships we popped in 19 days, pays for a lot more than the ammo
You could say that we are recycling it, we are green like that you know. Always giving back to the community.
Also you do realise we got paid to do it, nothing personal, we had some good gang fights. Even managed to kill a few of your caps, smack aside, but when you warped in carriers on to the gate instead of hiding near POS assigning fighters, you have no idea how happy you made us
Thanks for the pew pew xxx
Edit: in before the flame, that 600 is not pods and shuttles There are 400 pods to add to it

In these days of full on smack and stuff, I would just like take the time to say thank you for saying that
Contract is over now, it was fun. Popping that faction POS in Akora was just a farewell present
And once again, you have a good attitude. Maybe see you guys again sometime
