May sound a little ott to some people (well prob most) but it means 6 wks of work BUT more importantly 6 wks to play eve! So, shoud I, or shouldn't I?

When they figure out that you were faking (which they will, because if you didn't get the idea yourself then you won't know how to pull it off properly) you won't be able to afford playing eve.
Is it really worth it?

My advice would be to get a new job, seriously, its not that hard in the long run.
Failing that, if your gunna hurt yourself, remember that being on crutches will hurt your social life and obviously your mobility, if you really must, the just flip/jump of something high, itll be fun in the process.

I'm a Nurse and I work 13 hour shifts often without a break for a measly 18k a year when someone with an office or builders job earns 30k!
I also have to put up with the most heart rendering/sickest things you'd ever see in your life. The only thing that keeps me going is my passion to help people.

Bunch of babies. I threw out my back last week after a day of playing paintball and I STILL came to work. Granted some jobs you can't do that but hell I put up with work no matter what I have.

This is why nurses are the greatest people in the world, I've heard many a horror story about their experiences during practicum. Protip: Marry a nurse fellas, hardest working ladies on Earth, I tell you. Though, possibly the crankest too.

The leg will never be as strong as it once was, also during the time with the cast on the muscle will degenerate and take a long time to build back, because you wont have the strength in it for a lot of resistance work for a while.
Basically, dont do it you're a prat

I dont know how it works in England, but over here in the US doing something like faking an injury pretty much amounts to living off other people's work/money.
If that is the case there as well, don't do it or you're an ass.

I actually have to agree here, though for slightly different reasons. People defrauding insurance companies/health care systems like this is the reason that I was denied proper care for an on-the-job knee injury and have chronic pain. The initial test wasn't enough to prove there was damage, but the insurance company wouldn't shell out for advanced testing until I could prove there was damage. I got four weeks off the job with a fraction of my usual barely-livable pay, then was sent back to work as soon as I made the mistake of telling them it didn't hurt much anymore.
Of course it didn't hurt much anymore! I hadn't walked for more than 10 minutes at a time, and never without a brace, for a month! Stupid @*&$#s. I had to get another job, which didn't turn out to be a terrible thing, but I'm only 22 years old and can't even play sports or go hiking anymore!
Erm, sorry, bit of a rant there. But no, don't fake injuries for free money and time off, because then you #$%& over people like me. - - -

Mercex is my alt.
Would I have liked to not go into work today? YES Would I have phoned in sick & dropped my friends in the ****? No.
I do need a new job, every day the thought of going to work is one that isn't very nice. Anyone got any jobs going in West Yorkshire?
On another note...
Atm I'm 21, I've worked since the age of 12. 2yrs as a paper boy & working in a small garden centre at 14 I got a job working for a national company as a kitchen porter (yup it was illegal) I have worked ALL my life and would NEVER live of the state. @ my current job see people who claim benefits(prob about 10-15 a day) and out of that I would say in a week only maybe 1 or 2 of them should be receiving help.
As with reguard to the nurse who gets ú18k a year and thinks its unfair that a good skilled builder is gettin ú30k a year, your WRONG! the builder shouldn't be getting less... you shoud be getting MORE! I think most of the NHS staff are under paid. thx for all ur good work!

I know what it feels like to hate your job. Though in my case it wasnt as much of a job as it was job experience/traineeship or whatever its called you where you have to work at some company for school in order to get your diploma. so i was more or less stuck to it, though I did learn a whiole bunch of new stress symptons that apply to me ...
anyway I'd say look for another job and quit your current one asap. hating your job and getting stressed up about it is relly bad for your health(and I dont mean breaking your leg in order to get a couple weeks off...)
nobody *likes* to work, but when you hate your job bad enough to consider breaking your leg its time to look for something else(and ask yourself what aobut the job it is that you dont like, some co workers, the boss, the work itself, the hours.. just so you know what to look for)

Say hello to Mr. Office Worker
Mr. Office Worker can spend the next 40 years of his life in the same position, while Ms. Nurse smartens up and applies to a privately owned and operated nursing facility. Said Nurse than cuts off Mr. Office worker in her nice shiny Bentley, Mr. Office Worker snaps due to roadrage, murderer's Ms. Nurse and marries some 300lb Columbian inmate named Jesus in the dank recesses of the local jail.
Everyone wins.
