Need A Helping Hand =======================
Mission briefing: ----------------------- I'm going to get straight to the point. We need more staff here at the lab, or our research will suffer. I simply can't do everything with the limited staff I have working for us, we need more people. We have already lost a few good hands due to lab accidents or other incidents. If I don't get twelve units of Science Graduates here today our research will be delayed. No buts, ifs or whys, just get them here a.s.a.p.
Objectives ----------------------- To complete the mission, the following must be performed by you: twelve units of Science Graduates must be provided at XXXXXX
So anyone have a clue where to find these mythical creatures?
None on the market in the region near my agent - I also asked several corp mates to check in various regions - none around!
How am I meant to finish this research missions if I cannot actually find the things I need to complete it?

Thanks for pointing that out - I hadn't seen it...
Still doesn't answer the question how do we get these things?
So possibly missions - so am I going to get them before tomorrow when I automatically fail my research mission and lose standing with research agent?
Hmmm... great foresight again...

The GM told me to decline the mission, which meant failing it, since I had already accepted.
IMO, bad form for CCP not making these things active before putting them in as a requirement, and REALLY bad form for the very confusing explanation from GM Gustov.

I rejected the mission (Sc Graduates) and still took a standing hit of -0.03.
I hope someone fixes this soon.

Well mine runs out at 8 this evening - so I hope someone has found some Science Graduates by then.
Out of interest has anyone in all the missions run last night actually got any Science Graduates yet?

Edited by: Zrakor on 29/01/2004 09:26:47 The science graduates do "drop". I'm not going to hand out any hints yet, other than the fact you can recieve them through missions (but only for certain agents).
The research missions shouldn't be handing out any standing loss, if you feel you recieved loss it's probably due to decay or something like that. For that reason, simply decline these missions if you simply cannot find anyone selling them.
They will not be for sale on the open market, ever. But you might be able to find some through the escrow service, or trade channel.

Jeez... didn't you guys learn from the horrible mess from the Caldari homeless missions? Sitting in that awful pit known as the trade channel looking for research materials is something that I wouldn't even force upon my worst enemy. Looking through escrow missions for these things? A distant second in torturous activities. -------------------- Newbie for life! |

Where would you expect to find Science Graduates?
The nearest Aliastra shopping mall? No.
a Justice Tribunal station? Try again.
A University? Well, hey, there's a thought...

Hey at least you didn't hoarde all your homeless (purposfully failing missions) so that you could use them, just to find out your R&D Agent thinks that using humans is illegal and now you have a bunch of layabouts and no way to get rid of them. I tried for an hour ont he trade channel to no avail. "I can only take so much before I'll blow up my own ship. Hey isn't that what insurance is for?"

Sorry didn't read your text right. My agent told me to go hang out in a University and see if I could find and out of work graduates.

If you haven't got anything positive to say then don't bother!
Fact is the 'science graduate' requirement came in unannounced. No one I know - and I know a lot of agent runners have yet to come across any and there certainly aint any available yet as far as I know...
So now I gotta go 15 jumps from my research agent and regular agents in the 'hope' that a University agent will drop these 'science graduates' within a reasonable number of missions... Maybe they will creep onto ESCROW and market but I doubt they will before my RP missions fails this evening!
I guess CCP must think agent runners play 24hrs a day!
Oh well c'est la vie - just another day in EVE Universe...

Edited by: Quantum Ghost on 29/01/2004 15:53:24 1. Check that your mission expires in 24 Hours. I know mine and others say 'never'
2. They will never be on the market, I know this 2 ways. ...a) Because they are not listed on the market (untick the active items only)
...b) Because I petitioned regarding this mission and got a responce withing 5 minutes saying that "they are available via other players and other non market sources".
3. Please chill out, it's a game. A game that I also like many only have a few hours in a night, you are not alone!

Edited by: Quantum Ghost on 29/01/2004 16:09:20 I thought I would post my agents request here so you understand what I am on about.
Need A Helping Hand =======================
Mission briefing: ----------------------- I'm afraid our staff member count has thinned a bit recently, because a couple of them were killed when the hydrocarbon fuel rod they were handling exploded, and a few others seriously injured. Obviously this has put a dent in our staff count. This has seriously slowed down our research, and I simply am unable to find acceptable replacements. I'd like you to find some cheap labor for us, or our research may be doomed. I wouldn't be surprised if there were plenty of recent science graduates from local universities that are having a hard time finding a job these days, so that's the place to start looking. Bring me 4 healthy specimens and I promise you our research will greatly benefit from it.

Heh maybe its the two battleships that I lost this weekend that is affecting me because I am normally very chilled
It is just a minor annoyance which I prolly forgotten about in about 6 months and Baldour Ngarr's SO helpful response prolly didnt assist either in my frame of mind...
Thx for posting the mission description - that does give a better idea - I suppose I gotta start cultivating a university agent now in addition to my 6 regular agents and the research agent *sigh*
Godamn looking forward to the Multiple Reesearch Agent Skill being introduced!

It's really a shame. Eve has one of the nicest market systems that I've ever seen. But for some reason, they've decided that instead of using this nice and easy to use system, they must add some sort of challenge by making us sit in an runaway IRC room to obtain these items, or go through the clunky and easy to abuse escrow market. -------------------- Newbie for life! |

I'm no buisness man and I don't like ripping others off. On the other hand I wouldn't like to be cheated my self. I'll sell them for 300k isk/person in stacks of 5 on the escrow until tomorrow. I don't have that many out yet, but maybe they'll come. It's real fun optaining these guys, but nothing more about that for now.

Right still havent come across Science grads anywhere...
I got the first request for em the evening of the patch...
I waited 23 hrs till the next evening in the hope someone would find some - no joy!
So two days no research bonus...
Get my email from my agent tonight

Just stumbled across this myself and am 100% ****ed about it.
I* am being asked for something that so far seems impossible to get. I petitioned and was told to check trade. No one has them. Then I was told to look here.
Big help...just a lot of people in the same boat I am.
If I am given a mission I SHOULD be able to comlete it in some manner of reasonable time...even hours. But to drop a mission for something that has maybe been in-game for a few days and NO ONE has any of the items is absurd.
