Hello,
i have finished a lot of lvl4 missions and done extensive salvaging during them. As far as for now, i have never gotten a Tech II rig part (ie something not broken). Since living in Empire High Sec and not doing PVP/Piracy i am asking, if there is a way to acquire such parts other than buying from market, for personal use.
TIA

They come from t2 player wrecks and officer/faction spawn wrecks. The standard suggestion if you dont want to gather the parts the hard way is to hang around empire warzones and salvage wrecks that way. -

If i understood correctly, it is possible to get some from faction wrecks. Do you mean that it may be possible from salvaging wrecks from ships from lvl4 missions against other factions, ie missions like 'Enemies Abound' etc ?

Does anyone has a working experience for this case ?
When he says Faction he means the named Faction spawns like Dread Guristas, Domination Angels, True Sansha's etc Not just the evryday low level faction spawns.
Whether the few named faction spawns that appear in the odd mission drop t2 rig materials I dont know.

When someone mentions a Faction Spawn, they are almost invariably referring to True Sansha, Dark Blood, Dread Guristas, Shadow Serpentis or Arch Angel spawns. These are rare enough in 0.0 space, so it can be pretty hard to find them in high sec space and missions as well. These spawns also sometimes drop modules of similar names, like Dark Blood Warp Disruptor. It's where most faction loot comes from.
So basically, unless you are lucky, you will be forced to buy the Tech II components on the market. Or I suppose do as suggested and try and ninja-salvage some player Tech II ship wrecks in warzones.
This is of course designed like this to fit into the risk vs reward thing. Take more risk, get better stuffÖ

Just imagine how inexpensive T2 rig parts would be if they hadn't nerfed Privateers...

The only t2 rig parts i looted where in 0.7 space from a faction frigate. Only 2 from a single frigate, but faction spawns are not very much around. But it is possible to loot them in high/low sec. I think you have a better change looting them by scanning hidden complexes then in reguliar missions tbh.

O, it's also important to note they only come from tech 2 player wrecks...not just any player wreck. If you salvage all those normal cruiser/frig wrecks, etc, you only get normal salvage/metal scrap.

I only salvaged T2 rigs from Domination Angel spawns atm. And that was just in 0.6 belts. In missions you get less salvaged materials.

Please see my thread on salvage drop rates and sign up for some kind of review
Even if you do get an uncontested alliance battlefield littered with T2 wrecks you'd be lucky to be able to build a single T2 rig from it. Command ship wrecks are about the most common source of parts. Needless to say, they're quite hard to find.

It seems most people think about empire ratting...

Yep, that really annoyed me, and after i trained salvaging and fitted out me dessie!! tsk tsk
btw, buy them in jita - expensive but unless your in a major war you are just not gonna be able to salvage the parts - either that or buy yer self some t2 ships an blow them to pieces... better yet (and more fun) challenge yer corpies to duel in t2 ships and blow the feck outta them (still take ages) have you got the skills to make and use them?
