outdmg absolution? 8turrets + 25% dmg bonus = 10 turret dmg 6 turrets + 25% ROF + 25% dmg = 10 turret dmg then the absolution has the launcher slot, (slightly) better fittings, extra low slot... and /slightly/ better resists? :P

Actually I agree, the Harbinger with 8 turrets would at least give Amarr a z0mgGANK ship like the Armageddon used to be, even if it wasn't really great for anything else.
Oh and 8 turretsx25% RoF == 10.666... turrets, not just 10.
Absolution 6 turretsx25%RoFx25%damage == 10 turrets.

harbi has 25% dmg, not 25% ROF

Harbi has 50m3 drone bay, abso 25m3 - enough for harbi to outdamage abso (if it had 8 turrets).

then, as abso has an extra low slot, and much higher resists, it could fit more heat sinks...

kind of silly to compare the two, harbie cant fit t2 heavy pulse setup without severely sacrificing in some other aspect.
The damage difference is only a few % with comparable setups. And gank ships are absolutely ********, lets not add more of em. Also if you're trying to use heavy pulses for gallente-esque ganking, you really need to find another game or invest in a clue. Well piloted harbie will decimate any normal fit bc in standard combat, and it's sure as hell not because it does more damage.

With the larger dronebay, the harbinger would definately outdamage the absolution, and as for lowslots, after 3 heatsinks, what's the point of fitting more?

Man What? The only Teir 2 BC that a harb should stand a chance against is the Drake, because the Drake shield tanks. Hurricane will beat it as will the terribly overpowered Myrmidon.

out-dmged by the difference between an extra 25m3 of of drone-bay and an extra launcher high-slot. And it's not exactly the t2 variant, absolution is a tech2 variant of the prophecy, which is built more for tank than gank. If they get round to releasing tech2 versions of the teir2 BCs, and the harbi outdmgs it's own t2 variant, then yes, there would be a problem. But a Harbis fittings are tight already, with pulses, so trying to fit an extra pulse, or even a full rack of beams, will lead to sacrifices in other areas.

the placement of the 7th laser on the harbi is pretty ****ty tho. so why not either place it somewhere else or give it an 8th turret and reduce the drone bay a bit?

Oh god, signed 1000-fold.
Scrap the drone bay if the "Amarr-is-supposed-to-suck" crowd won't have it any other way. I don't care. That the guns wreck the bilateral symmetry of such a beautifully symmetric hull is an unbearable offense.

EXACTLY, Harbi is, imo, one of the nicest looking ships in the game, but the scar of the gap where the 8th turret should be sitting is like... ..."don't fear the reaper" with no cowbell.

Tier 2 BC don't need any more help.
The tier 1 altough could all use a bit of help 1 more turret each (except brutix that shoudl receive a PG upgrade)

Add the 8th back, change the bonus to RoF (in line with the other ganking amarr ships...)
Boost the prophecy, more powergrid and a touch more cpu, another turret isn't neccessary, just give it enough PG to field heavy beams and an armour rep or two and we're set :D

it's quite rare to encounter someone who knows what they're doing, it's no surprise so many people dont know just how good the damn ship is. The only bc that gives it any trouble is a falloff rigged hurricane, which are alot rarer than you'd think, and in that case I simply disengage and nobody wins. Of course, if the other pilot is really good sometimes they can get a leg up, hell I've downed eos's near solo in the thing, wasnt a whole lot harder than killing a myrm. And honestly I'd say drake is one of the second hardest vs harbie, if fitted correctly and with near-max or max skills the shield buffer will pretty much own you while he's lobbin missiles at you, I rarely engage them solo because of this.
Though yeah, harbie's a goddamn fine ship, if you cant fly it, dont cry bout it.
Edit: well, or at least cry about it's real problems, it doesnt have the cpu to fit t2 heavy pulses for the life of it unless you gimp other aspect, also would be nice to have a bit more cpu to fit t2 web and scram as well... but hell I can live with best named and amarr navy ammo. em ftw.

Please give it back its 8th laser . I hate seeing the unbalanced guns and empty turret points on the hull and there really is nowhere that 7th turret could go to make it balanced. The harb was made for 8 turrets give them to it!!!

You nano-fit a Harbinger? Seriously? The thing is both slow and heavy. There is no way you should be able to keep those ships out of web range. And in order to do that you need to be shooting Scroch anyway, which means you are shooting into a base 30% resist against this supposed hurricane which cant kill you.
The Harbinger is a fine ship, and doesnt really need any changing. But an 8th turret would be nice for asthetics. That or 6 turrets and a double damage bonus[in exchange for less drones]
