Never heard of this before, but as I was cleaning up after a mission, first one than two more parties enter my location. A total of three ships. First one targets me, when I get a lock I start to fire away with what I got. Then the last two culprits from above enters. Better to pick a fight on your own terms, so I leave. Not into PVP.
Asked in local how they could enter my mission, got a "LOL at you, you've been scanned".
Ok. So now you're not safe from other people entering and disruptning your PVE experience?
Please inform me more about this behaviour. Nothing you can do to prevent it?

Eve is not instanced therefore you're in the same space as everyone else, even while in the middle of a 5 room, deadspace, extravaganza mission. This means you are vulnerable to scan probes, which they used to track your position. The easiest/fastest way is to scan for both 1) your ship and 2) your drones (if they're out) since the drones provided added chances at a successful scan.
You were never safe from other people entering your deadspace, you just never realized your vulnerablility. When the whole "triangulation" thing was necessary with scan probes (long while ago now), it was extremely hard to find a mission runner because of the odd random locations a deadspace would spawn at. With changes to scan probing, you now only need the probes, time, and a monkey to push "Scan". Things got a lot easier, although it is by no means guaranteed that they can find you.
To prevent it, you must give them as few chances of finding you as possible. Ways to do this: -Don't use drones...they provide additional targets for the scan and increase the prober's chance of success on each scan they attempt. -Complete missions quickly...They need time to find you, don't dilly dally. -Change ship class to one that is harder to scan. Unfortunately I haven't had this explained in detail to me, so Ican't be more specific. I think generally speaking this means fly a smaller ship (command ship instead of battleship).
This helps, but you are still vulnerable, and occassionally will be probed out. My advice, if you operate in low sec, be aware of your surroundings at all times. Move away from the warp-in point. Stay aligned and ready to warp out.

Thanks for the reply Krav. Ah man, thought mission running was like a safe spot... Darn, don't wanna keep looking over my back all the time, doesn't suit my playing style.
This is perfectly ok with CCP I guess?

Yes. You're in Lowsec. And as CONCORD says, it is extremely dangerous and they can not gauruntee your safety.
In a deadspace, for the real paranoid, drop a jetcan at the warp in part, and that will decloak any cloaked ships if they try and warp in.

I think it was 0.7 or 0.9 space. Does deadspace pockets count as lowsec even if surroundings are above 0.5?

No. Security status of the system works just the same.
If you were in hisec then it sounds more like they were just screwing with you. Especially since no Passive targeting or warp scrambling was used.

Sure did, they got me to leave. Oh well, you live and learn in the world of Eve... Maybe I'll stay around and see what happens if the same situation appears again.

Next time you probably don't have to. Though wondering a bit how you managed to shoot them without Concord spanking you (possible if they had stolen something from you).
Anyway, people do probe missioners in high sec space, but there isn't that many things they can do. They could - try to draw extra agroes (shooting triggers etc) and leave - salvage wrecks lying around - steal your loot (which would allow you to shoot the thief...not advisiable at all unless you feel experienced enough)
So, if people come in on further missions, and you don't have dangerous NPCs left, might as well stay and watch (perhaps removing the autolock-back feature to avoid misfirings).

Thanks for the tip. I had blown up all NPC's and was half-afk salvaging wrecks. Guess I sort of paniced when I saw the first ship go red as he targeted me. I fired a few salvoes of Cruise and rails, and saw his shields starting to go down. Then his mates arrived and I decided to leave. Was taken by surprise by them entering my spot in deadspace and forgot that I was in highsec.

Yeah, I know that safespots just out in a solar system isn't really safe. Maybe I should have used another word, but I didn't know that someone else but me (or members in a gang I'm in) could jumpgate in to join me when doing missions.

A lot of the busy mission-running systems (Motsu, Saila, Dodixie, Aunia, Auvergne) are full of people who scan for wrecks/mission runners. Then they either try to pick a fight with you or salvage the wrecks you created.
Some tips:
1. You are never safe in Eve. Even in 1.0 space. Concord may arrive to kill the culprits, but maybe not until after they have killed you.
2. Make sure autotarget is turned off. If someone is screwing with you and they target you, you don't want to accidentally shoot back at them. If that happens and they are not flagged to you, you will get Concorded. Then they will have a happy time looting and salvaging your wreck.
3. If you are in high sec space and someone is flashing to you, you can try to kill them. Usually, however, they will be specifically set up to kill you, so it's not the best idea.
4. You are never safe in Eve. Don't go AFK with your ship in space. Don't use autopilot.
5. You are never safe in Eve. Don't ever enter a gang with someone you don't know. Search the forums for Lofty29 to understand exactly why. ------------

Drones use MWD = big sig radius, so bad

Your footprint to scan probes depends equally on your signature (higher=bigger) and your sensor strength (lower=bigger.) So anything that reduces sig or increases sensor strength will help. ECCM and Sensor Backups increase the latter, so they do have a beneficial effect.
The biggest single thing you can do though is to use drones only very selectively. Besides that, use a smaller sig radius ship where possible, though if you're increasing the time it takes to complete the mission, that can be counterproductive. Also, look for shortcuts. I don't worry about looting if I'm concerned about probers being around, and often there's a speedy way to complete missions without killing everything. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Another option for you, train up covert ops.
If this is a frequent issue and you experience people entering your mission again and again try this tactic.
Bait the salvagers. Purposely leave drones, wrecks, cargo containers, etc. laying about in your deadspace area. A Covert Ops pilot will stumble upon it and want to investigate. If it is a group like you described before, they were going to go after you. Sit cloaked in your deadspace mission area at your optimal range, web range, scram range, etc. Wait until they start flashing red from stealing your loot, then decloak and start messing them up.
I did this with my first corp in low sec missions. 5 Sealth Bombers is a nice surprise to a pirate looking for an easy mission runner kill.

OP, in highsec if someone is flashing to you, then that pretty much means they stole from you. You can attack them and no one can help. So even though there were 3 ships you can solo them one at a time.
Generally, it's not worth the chance of losing a ship over though, so you did the right thing.

if a particular area or corp becomes an issue , there is strength in numbers adjust and bait them PVP is as fun as PVE.
On the flip side engage in more exploration, encounters and ratting.
lobby CCP to expand the exploration and encounter side of game and cosmos and add more low sec systems

I had the same story last week at penirgram. I was looting the wrecks of the sansha pirates (the blockade L4). I saw another shup less than a second in my overview. The guy was in a buzzard. When he started to steal, I saw him flashing red.I left and cambe back with my raven again and asked him to leave and started to destroy the wrecks. I simply didn't want someone to profit from my mission. His friends came (2 or 3 other guys) and I started to shoot to the buzzard but he managed to leave. I made the mistake to discuss with the others and I ddn't realize that they were earning time. The guy in a buzzard came back with a hyperion and started to fight me and scramble me. Hopefully I managed to damage him enough and he decided to leave. I destroyed everything I could and I left..

Must have been that happening. I didn't stay long enough to identify the last 2 ships, the first one was a Vexor I belive. I was in a Rokh, trying it out.

0.9 security level. Is Penirgman an Amarr mission hub? I need Melted Capacitor Consoles.

Well then you're just a bastard, denying someone a resource you weren't going to use, just to spite them. Turnabout is fair play. See you in your mission space in Penirgman. I need Melted Capacitor Consoles.
