Do people roll caldari because they start with 3 charisma and you can leave it at 3 thus having more points for perception & intelligence?

I've heard many initially rolled Caldari because they were the first option and decent looking/decent background.

you know what, it's not too hard to be dual nationality in EVE
you don't need 20 Mill SP in gunnery or missiles to make a difference
I have 10 mill in each and am caldari/amarr
I snipe and do corp duties in my amarr and mission running in my caldari ships

I had no idea what the stats actually meant when I made this char, was pleasantly surprised when it turned out I had made a good choice.

I went Achura for the huge intelligence attribute possible. got 33 intelligence and 25 memory now! perfect for a researcher. rank 8 science skill from lvl 4 to 5 in around 25 days. thats at 2,730 Sp's per hour! awesome. But she is an alt. would be pretty naff as an all rounder or a main. |

I was new to Eve and didn't know the impact of the attributes when I rolled Caldari 2 years ago. The back story on Caldari seemed to suit me best. I made the mistake of picking a career path (which is no longer an option) instead of doing custom (which is now the only option). My highest base attributes are the least useful two (Charisma and Willpower). But I'm too old to start over, and my other stats aren't that bad (23s with +5 implants).

The best character for a new player interested in PVP is achura because of the 3 charisma. It is also easiest to rat/mission as a Caldari which is a bonus as well.

at the end of the day it doesnt matter, all races can fly other race ships, the only diffence will be time taken to train skills

I rolled Caldari 3 years ago because I had no clue what i was doing. On hindsight I wish I had gone with Amarr, even with all the nerfs etc.

Yeah :)
In the mean time, I made this Deteis not because of CHA etc but because was the only one who got Trade (for Black Marketing skill), and giving some usefull bonus (INT/PER if remember correctly). All the others gave full CHA :)
Realy wish I was an Amarr but......

I do believe at the ol EVE Bar and Grill you can pay a flat $10 and they allow you to change your portrait.

Went with Achura on my main because my friends who had been playing longer informed me they had the best starting attribs, so I went with the flow.
However as he was the ugliest thing to grace EVE I created this lovely alt who will be my PvPer, while my main runs missions to fund her.

If they're rolling an alt they probably do. If they're new to the game then they probably roll Caldari because they're (or were at least, I haven't rolled a new char in a while) the first option people reading from left > right see and their background says "Rarrrgh! Military-like types!"

I rolled Caldari because it's what I had tried in earlier trials and in the beta, and I was looking forward to using the Ferox, Drake and Rokh. I was also drawn in by the backstory.
If Amarr had gunmetal-coloured ships with navigational lights I'd have rolled them in a heartbeat.

Yes, I did it for the 3 charisma. Now I wish I hadn't, because a Minmatar-Brutor Male face is worth a lot more than the low charisma of the ugly and comical Caldari-Achura Male.

contrary to popular belief I don't think most caldari rolled the race to min-max or to run missions in Ravens - at least I didn't, my first trial char was an Achura female, because she looked pretty (sue me) and because the Caldari background sounded good. Of course, I knew nothing about the game then, so how the flying **** was I supposed to make an educated decision?
ofc now some people do choose them to get quick access to a science alt, like some people picked Khanid simply for gunnery 5 with the RMR character creation, but I don't think that's a majority

yup thats why we are surrounded by damn achuras every where.
ps. i didnt know the whole achura caldari issue, even i didnt anything about eve but i manage to make descent char by insicts(hmm per i was shooting with per in fallout so give 2 point to there, its space being smart is nice put 2 point, omg mem i have mamory of a fish in irl so 1 point to mem ) i get atracted bu big C of caldari with some fancy small but advanced military story and red icon of achura to, well that was another story.. i was chosed military soldier simply because i always love to play warrior in mmo's this ps was a bit of topic but...

well i made a new character the other day and looked at the descriptions
basicly says
amarr bunch of religious people
minmatar bunch of ex slaves
gallente the only true democracy champions of freedom
caldari ruthless military efficiency
my attributes aren't perfect, somewhat wish i could change them, but oh well they do me fine.
