17" CRT @ 1024+768
I know higher resolutions make everything on the screen smaller but the actual space you get on the screen is essential for me, just put the screen closer to your face!! Before i got the LCD i just had the standard monitor which was a nightmare, just having local up on the screen blocked half your view out.

1680x1050 is my window's res, but i run my computer through a nice projector. So I guess you could say I play at ~8' x 12'

I have a crappy xt1300... it came with my new dualcore system, I run eve at 1680x1050; no problema at ALL and I have only 2gigs of ram, my cpu IS a little faster, and eve is CPU heavy. you should be fine upgrading your monitor though.

Fire GL X3-256, 2 clients, 1280x1024, 2 19" CRT monitors. One client per monitor.
Other specs, 2.8 prescott, 1.5 Gb RAM, on a MSI Pt880 Neo MB, XP Pro.
Lord my system is old :D. Works tho.

A bit dated, but the framerate is silk and it looks great.
