I worked with my now corp mates. They told me all about it and at break time showed me Eve-Online. After about a month I finally installed it. That was over a year ago.

My nephew showed me the game in 2004. I had never played any video games. I jumped into the game with absolutely no gaming experience (mmorpg, and or home video games). I was fascinated with the graphics. Today, I am still a noob with gobs of SPs.

PCGAMER UK ran a three day trial a very long time ago, and I decided to install the game and try it out. Three days later I had a subscription.

Then ended up without access to the web for a couple of years...
...thing is I have no idea where I first heard about the beta.

A corpm8 from Earth and Beyond say "hey there are looking for beta testers for this new game" Hmm that was a long, long, long, time ago, on a server with far fewer people and far more fun.

Edited by: The Pointless on 04/08/2007 00:19:26 First heard of the GHSC heist, then there was another scam, both reported in PC GAMER (UK), Then at Christmas last year, after being brought to the point where I wanted to punch someone repeatedly (Guild Wars + Xmas event extension = AAAAAGH!), I frantically searched my collection of magazine coverdiscs and saw an EVE trial on one of them.

I think it was a banner for Eve that drew my curiosity; a few screenshots later and I was sold. But then I was like "*&^@# why hadn't I heard of this game before?"
I wish CCP was more aggressive in their marketing.

Edited by: Cherybol on 04/08/2007 00:28:52 Saw E&B on store shelves as a little lad, wanted to play it. Lo and Behold I was visiting Canada and I stopped at a game store in some Mega Mall, and saw EVE and thought "Hey, its similar to E&B." and I had the cash on me then. So I bought it. It ended up sitting in my room for a few months until I finally got my first computer. And then I started to play the **** out of it.

Same here
I "found" EVE way too long ago to even remember WHEN it was, not how I found it. Can't remember how I got to the main site nor forums, but I got there.
Back then, I had such a slooooow and lousy internet connection, I didn't even dare download the client. Well, actually, I tried, but for some reason "resuming" was not supported, so I gave up after a few tries. Kept lurking in the forums, reading the articles and so on.
Eventually, around half year later, got a friend to download the client, tried to install it... surprise, installer verification locked at 93% on all comps. Got another friend to download it, exactly the same thing. I gave up for another half year or so, when I finally got it downloaded and installed. Surprise, surprise, there was no "free trial" back then, or at least I didn't know about it. Tried talking about payment methods, but billing was quite primitive back then, so I wound up NOT PLAYING again. Eventually, I came across (yet another half year later) upon free trial offers for EVE. Downloaded and installed the client (got a decent internet connection already back then), but my job at the time was very time consuming, so I eventually ended up not playing... but played a good deal of trial accounts, only for a very short while on each (if I actually played more than 10-12 hours out of the 14 days on any of those trials, I'd be surprised), spread across yet another half year or so.
Eventually, after a job change (including city relocation), soon after "the Bloodlines patch" (only had one other trial under "Blood" except this one), I ended up creating "Akita T", this time with the intent to keep it. And well, more than 1.5 years later after creation (and more than 3 years since I first tried to play EVE), here I still am...
