Because clearly, people would rate a game low because of cheating by an in-game alliance. No, they rated the game low because of cheating by CCP, and more importantly CCP's whitewashing of the forums when those allegations were exposed. Well, my loyality is in no doubt, and I also remember that it was in response to the admission of t20 to helping BoB that caused the slide in the rankings. And how do I remember this? Cause I tried ******* hard to stop it. I must have created 20 accounts at mmorpg.com. Posted lots of stupid messages so I could submit a perfect ratings for Eve on each account.

I dont really know how to regard their rating system, it does give you a good idea of what is popular! I wouldnt dismiss it completly though, you may think that if its a user voted system then games which have a much larger user base would be up there more often, but I dont honestly remember seing WoW in the top spot! In anycase mmorpg.com is one of the best places to go get a credible rating on a game.

Of course eve did drop a bit due to the bad PR events, which spread quickly over to the mmorpg.com forums where CCP can't get rid of it. It was all you could hear on the forums there for months. They just arent. Its like a universal fact, its not even an opinion. They may have some parts that are better, but overall, they dont stand a chance with their sharded, meaningless pvp, no economy, no nothing. When we look back 20 years from now, nobody will remember these games (ok, maybe the EverQuest series). But Eve will have a place in the history books. Even while i played it i knew it was ****. Just read their forums, the people there basicly hate each other, the devs, the community reps and ofc the game. Just because your addicted to something doesnt mean you dont see it for what it is, and there are many things wrong with it. WoW is just a very well made game, it only suffers in areas it was never designed to be good at(pvp, crafting, endgame, guilds/housing). All being said, even while i was playing and enjoying the game, i still wouldnt have said its the best. Just cause you like to eat cheeseburgers doesnt mean you think its the best and most healthy food around .
