Very nice fight, except for Maasus smacktalk. (OC apologises for that)
About 6-8 SA ships downed, 2 CA BBs.
To bad CCP has not fixed the lagg issue in fleet battles, otherwise it would have been a great fight.
Kudos to both sides, i had fun .

Edited by: Ange1 on 02/02/2004 02:40:36 I took plenty of screenshots of the fights we had today, some links are provided below. This was my first time in a major battle. Been in plenty of fleet ops, but they never really get much action except for the odd stray ship, oh well:

Actually I counted 60 in local with 6300 online when the fight occured. As much as we did have lag, all in all it was a vast improvement over the "old days."
I left for the Superbowl, you all may have gotten some SA ships then, but when I left we had lost less then your estimate. But it was a very good showing from both sides.

Edited by: Omniwar on 02/02/2004 04:56:27 So without starting a flame war can anyone tell us the score, i.e. the losses on each side.
I know what it says in the first post but 6-8 isnt accurate so its always best if both sides come forvard and admit their losses to set the record straight.
There is no shame in loosing a ship in war, it only means you are willing to fight

Dreez's estimate is close I bet, but I was only aware of a couple of lost SA ships. So his estimate can't be off far if its not correct. Again, battle like that hard to know for sure. I know of two CA kills alone by me. so its probably less then 6 each.

There is one uncomfirmed Scorp kill from that battle... no other losses on either side in THAT BATTLE except a couple cruisers (who cares.)
The rest of the kills were solo ganks.
Curse fleet destroyed a scorp and mega jumping into DSS after that battle.
C4 fleet destroyed Joseph X's arma in Mb4, and someone's apoc in UF-.
There are 2 other kills by the CA squad that occurred earlier in the day. I believe we have lost no battleships today. |

Yup was fun.
60 in local missles and ammo expended and not much to show for it. Definately it wasnt a place for the battle rookies.
I'd say Eve is a safer place that these two alliances are focusing on each other. That coulda been 60 CA&SA joint ships in someone elses backyard ya know.

Just for the records, we lost a bb in the fight at the station and a megathron. Moah was the last to jump into dss from MB4, when your flet just arrived at the gate, bad luck 12 vs. 1. HeŠs a good fighter but no chance this time.
My corp. is in Stain for 4 months now, killed a few and lost a few bs/crusier/indys. I canŠt think of one really good reason what this war is all about, but i would miss it. -------------------- (Advocatus Diaboli) |

Good question. SA attacked CA because of corps like Sinister and m0o joining CA, right? Well, Sinister is pretty much gone, m0o is anywhere but Curse nowadays and all of the 'pirate' corps seem to have left Curse or died/been killed off.
So...umm.. what's all the shooting about now? Is it just about having someone to shoot at? -

You bring up a good point and they are accurate statements about Sinister being pretty much gone and Moo being gone. Could some sort of cease-fire be written up to end the bloodiest war in Eve history? Curse Alliance have stated in the past that they are against pirates, what would the possibility be of sorting out a joint operation against Moo and the other pirate corporations and to bring both warring alliance together?
Of course, this is just me. There is a lot of bad blood between a few corporations in both alliances though.

Sinister is still alive and seems to be getting new members. So i guess that as long as the CA doesn't kcik out sinister completely the war will continue

I was hpoing someone would say that. It may be time for stain to fall back out of DSS. Surely they cannot withstand these losses much longer.

What amazing postings from both sides. Do I smell some insight here? And thereŠs by far more respect from SA for CA than thereŠs bad blood. Besides that, one of the most admirable capabilities of beings is to forgive.
Im afraid that SA and CA would be surprised how close and alike their members are. -------------------- (Advocatus Diaboli) |

Interesting idea, Main. Peace? I don't know. The bad blood thing is definetely a factor.
The only thing being 'accomplished' right now is that from week to week, once alliance or the other has bragging rights about how many enemy ships got pwned, blasted, etc... There's not really a point to it anymore. CCP still has yet to implement something as simple as an EVE mail telling a pilot that he destroyed another ship. The loser gets a mail. Why not the winner??
Let CCP introduce the damn stations or mobile refineries or anything that actually matters. Once players are able to actually own pieces of the game and have something tangible to fight for, then it might be worth the effort. Until then, why not just call a cease fire for a bit? We can shoot at each other again later if you still want to! Promise!

It is true we have not made many EV kills. However the combat corporations Collective, MASS etc have been taking losses. Sorry I forgot Tyrell ( who only ever bring cruisers, while the rest of stain put there ships on the line). Never fear the mining ops are next.

Chow, I know that Tyrell had half a dozen BS in the DSS area last night for the big fireworks show. We lost one, an Apoc, to a gate camp (15 vs.1). We probably had a few cruisers out as well. If our SA friends had any complaints about our participation level, they didn't voice it on the SA teamspeak server. _____ CLS Civil Affairs Bureau

All the members of Sinister moved on to WoW Beta.
Theres not a single one left
And She doesnt completely pwn Stain every day of the week. (NOT 70+ BS kills since castor)
And CA needs Peace really badly cos stain are beating us so bad.
And DSS isnt owned by CA 1/3 of every day.
And CA hasn't killed so many SA we need 4 indys to pickup the corpses
And we dont Enjoy handing your asses to you on an Antimatter Plate.
Oh.. And Santa Claus gave me this Apoc.
