THIS POST IS FOR INFORMING THE COMMUNITY ONLY AND DOES NOT REFLECT THE OPINIONS OF EXM OR MY CORP.
19.04 eve time:
after receiving intel from several Bruce members (by way of threats) we established that they were coming to take a POS in mhc from us and started contructiing defenses. A small bruce gang of 40 or so BS attacked a pos in construction but were returned to PC9 fairly quickly http://www.eve-exm.com/kb/?a=kill_related&kll_id=10962
23.20 - 23.40 :
The bruce main force enters mhc via the 2x gate using capital ships. They proceed to destroy the large bubbles so the support can enter safely. We bring snipers to the gate and try to take out some caps stuck in the bubble regretfully we only manage to get a naglfar to hull before the swarm jumps in to save him. POS regroup ordered.
Stage2
After re-grouping at our combat base, scouts reported a neutral POS under attack by a mix of capitals and support ships. We managed to get numerous scouts into position, and comitted to battle... 23:59 - 00:29 A kill-ratio of 3-to-1 with more than 70 hostile ships lost during the 30 minute engagement :
battle ensues
We then battled non stop with bruce for over 4 hours :
chunk 1
chunk 2
chunk 3
chunk 4
A mix of tactics were employed, and a hard-fought battle left hundreds of wrecks on the field. (this did not help when loading the grid).
At this point, timezones started to hurt us, and we were not able to effectively hit them.
so we sniped their support fleet, yet again... last battle
Good fights to all involved, well done to bruce for finaly leaving pc9 and for never giving up (it should be noted that many bruce pilots returned to the meat grinder 4-5 times)
Big thanks to FIREMANDRIL and HUZZAH FED who gave us extra numbers

o/ Hey Saltire.
I think you'll find the fight is already being discussed by way of a "Whoa, major red blob" introduction over yonder in the General forum:
http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=571536
Hey, no problem talking about it in two places, but I'd just paste/repeat what I said there.
Great fight once again, and we learned quite a bit from it. Look forward to putting those lessons into practice again soon.

Having lost 3 ships in the battle and only firing off a dozen or so missiles, I can attest to the horrible lag. Hats off to EM for their ability to keep returning and going thru the grid loading process.

Wow HUGE thing, guys :)
Congratulations for the awesome fight you had!
Reminds me of past times when OSS was red to BRUCE and particularly engagements in PC9 and of course that epic Large BRUCE POS take-down in M2-/JH-. Back then, BRUCE behaved the same way - they just kept on coming and coming!!!
I have nothing but respect for their determination!

Oh, no question BRUCE came out behind on the kills/deaths. The 60,000m3 of loot we've hauled in wasn't too bad a consolation, though, and anyone who's faced BRUCE knows that we are big on improving after new experiences. BRUCE considers it a win - and would understand if ExM did the same, and agree with them, too - and we look forward to implementing all we've learned.

Excellently fought by EXM. Bruce's victory was of the Pyhrric type.. sort of like the Persians at Thermopylae except if the Spartans dropped Phat Lutz. Bravely fought on both sides.

Originally by: tavychevsky I ask you to see the big picture here, you were in MHC at that time to kill a POS and in the morning, the POS was still alive and your fleet dead (1st wave, 2nd wave and so on). Saltire managed to show this, posting those links so if you missed them please go back and analyze those closely, you may find the truth about the battle.
I know I shouldn't feed them but ...
You assume too much and know too little. Instead of an hour of sitting there shooting a POS we got 5 hours of pretty much non-stop fighting. Which do YOU think is more fun? Remember this is NPC space - attacking a POS is done to force fights as much as/more than to actually kill the POS.
When the fight ended we had a 70-80 man fleet with a decent chunk of cap-ships sitting at that POS with all the wrecks. Every gun/ewar module on the POS was already disabled - and the shields were taken down to about 80% from us pot-shotting it while we gathered the loot. There wasn't an enemy ship on the battle-field. I'd think it's fair to say that had we wanted to, we could have reinforced that POS easily. But we didn't. Why? We'd got what we came for - and noone felt like sitting around shooting a POS with no chance of a fight.
Just because YOU think killing the POS was our over-riding objective doesn't mean that it was. Before we set out from PC9 our fleet was told something like "If we're lucky we'll get to kill a load of EXM - but we'll lose a ton of ships ourselves."
We got lucky.

Nah, don't feed them, Sam.
BRUCE understands. Some of the ExM understand.
Anyone else, meh, let them believe what they want. Outside perception of BRUCE has never really been our concern anyhow. We play fair, conduct ourselves fairly, and speak plainly, truthfull- anyone who doesn't get us, or that, or chooses to dismiss our words, not our problem.
BRUCE is done here.
Good fight, ExM. We'll do it again soon.

Re-reading my own posts, I see no smack, nor any editing...
Everything I say is my own opinion and does not represent that of ExM or SYLO.
I'm just pointing out that where someone said most of the BRUCE losses were t1 cruiser, they need to look closer... What was it, 80 BS kills last count?
Oh, and while we're here, I just have to point out that the EXM defense halting at 0300 was not due to some tremendous BRUCE victory, rather a difference in timezones. Again, no smack, just letting those know who are under the dellusion of any other circumstance.

BRUCE contains The Graduates, who were an integral part of the Ivy League (home of Eve University) for a long time. Therefore, by association and bloodlines, BRUCE automatically gets +5 coolness points.
What does this have to do with the battle? Absolutely nothing. Glad everyone had fun though, as Fun > All.

One of our carriers was having a lag/desynch nightmare so tried to warp from the battle and back in again. Upon warping out his client totally crashed. He logged back in to find himself at planet 3 surrounded by the bad guys. A force was sent to try and assist the carrier and a battle ensued at the planet. Sadly the carrier wasn't saved. ExM did a great job on finding and pewing but it's a victory for lack of client performance and causality unfortunately.
On another note. Nice job everyone. The best battle I've been in yet and everyone conducted themelves with supreme respect and patience with regards to that lag. Just a shame I had to leave at 2.15 and be up for work at 5.30.

and it looks like the other fleet had no clue about focusfire f¦f seen the killbord and stats of the fight, just a little tip, first targets should be the scorps and then direkt the minmatar bs¦s --> gallente --> amar --> other crap
but still very nice job guy¦s, keep going.

Originally by: Saltire after a few manual recounts we have the following figures from the fleet action.
ExM kills on the left
Logistics: 3/0 BS: 77/44 BC: 40/3 Cruiser: 83/3 Destroyer: 4/0 Carrier: 2/0 CS: 1/1 Dictor: 5/4 Frigate: 21/0 Cov. Ops: 7/0 Indy: 1/0 Ass. Frig: 8/0 Inty: 5/3 Recon: 5/1 HAC: 4/0
Total: 266/59
Also a few kills by me and Mortecai during the fight, but in between y4y and MHC. My comp can't handle fleet fights so I resorted to killing/stalling reinforcements. And it was a stream of them that went back in time and time again.

What does this have to do with the battle? Absolutely nothing. Glad everyone had fun though, as Fun > All.

How did your fight wind up at a planet. If you could embelish on the story a little I would be grateful.
That was an unfortunate loss from your PoV to be fair, and a lucky one from ours.
I had in fact warped out of the main battlefield to planet 3 in my BS and saw the carrier there. I called it over comms but the carrier went into warp. I then left to rejoin the battle as support was landing at the planet. Obviously, your pilot had re-logged as he warped back in on top of our awaiting fleet - some of whom were warping back out!
So yeah, unlucky from your PoV and lucky from ours - especially considering the timing of it all. It also meant we were able to kill your incoming reinforcements almost at will which was a double whammy.
