There are two results from this
1) CCP can THROW money at the lag problem by buying huge amounts of CPU power
OR
2) subscription is cut in half or less (and the lag problem is solved!)

1. Even dedicating a node to every single system in EVE won't solve fleet battle lag
2. That's a horrible idea
The only thing that CCP can throw at it is manpower and time. Also, I sense large amounts of Trollinium in your system.

I wouldnt mind paying like 5 bucks extra a month, and take that by 200,000 ppl thats alot of money to throw at the servers, which would be nice. Maybe do it for a year and throw all the extra at the servers and we might be lag free

Aside from makeing loads of people quit the game, it obviousley wouldent help, if a dedicated node can't withstand a fleet battle then throwing money at more nodes is obviousley not the awnser.

yup, 5$ or ú5 is more to some people than it is to others, esp. for people that have multiple accounts, a 33% price hike is a very serious change and given the only proposed benifit is more servers that CCP could afford to buy *Anyway* and can be clearley shown to not be a long term awnser, its just obviousley a terrible idea.
Fortunateley there is like zero chance of it happening anyway.

Here's the thing: Double sub fee = less players can afford = less players = potentially equal or less than what CCP currently earn right now.

They double subscription from $15 to $30.
Then they buy a Cray supercomputer, 200 vs 200 runs fine so the players jump another 300 man blob into the battle and the server chokes.
"CCP we pay you $30 a month why cant you FIX THE LAG"
Lag will always be present until they LIMIT the number of people who can be on one node, to the number that the node can actually HANDLE.
You dont see 300 people jumping on a BF2 server, the server is limited to 64 because thats what the CPU can handle.
If the node can handle 64 then limit the node to 64. If it can handle 300 then limit it to 300.
But don't say "well you can jump an unlimited amount of people into the node, but it'll probably choke at around 150." If it can handle 150 then cap it at 150, dont let people jump in 300 people and suddenly the defenders all get disconnected, thats not PVP.

Maybe it would get some of the l33t d00ds to leave and go play WoW or Anarchy Online or whatever it is the kiddies are into these days.

CCP are at the cutting edge of the games industry in terms of their technology. They have the best resources around already working on Eve.
I doubt that the fault is theirs - it is more likely just current technology letting us down.
I remember docking in 'Lave' back in the old days of spaceship games. The technology has come a long way since then - right now though, CCP already has the best 'affordable' technology solution out there.
So throwing more money at them will likely just turn them into dancing monkeys rather than do a thing for lag. Entertaining to watch as it might be, I say just let them get on with it as they see best - after all - they are the experts.

Look...
unless we all wire fiber directly into CCP's main server block, there is always going to be lag.
Lag does not always occur at the source. There are dozens of little jumps between you and CCP that your computer has to send data through, and some of them may just suck.
Also.. data only travels as fast as light (if ever) so you're always going to have a bit of lag. Remember, Data sent is not from point A to point B... it's from Point A to B to C to D to E to F to G.. etc. until it reaches it's target, Z.
