Originally by: Futureface01 This didnt happen to me yet, but I just got a Dominix and some T2 drones and I was about to take it out for its first flight. I have never used drones before. Thankfully the server went down before I got to my destination. Had I got there, and started fighting...then the server crashed, would I have lost all my drones?
You have never experienced a server crash, fly a domi with T2 drones and have never tried drones yet?..
This smell like eBay to me..

I realize your all having fun, but how much longer can this seriously continue, before EVE dies as a game. Ive already seen one new guy post here, saying pretty much the EXACT truth of the matter: The Game is 10 years ahead of its time. It can't support the huge fleet combat it advertises, the fleets get decimated by desync and lag, to which ccp constantly claims they have no knowledge (yes, you know you do, and no, all of your players are not making things up to make your job harder) and lately, the game cant even support itself under NORMAL conditions. Perhaps instead of insisting on adding things like heat (bleh) you should concentrate on making your game stable, so its actually playable for a few hours at a time. MAYBE, just maybe, then they would get the new players they so desperately desire.
I mean honestly, why redo your tutorial, nobody will pay to play a game, no matter how great the idea (and this is a great idea) if it constantly crashes like this. I HAD 4 accounts, ive cut 2, simply because my interest in a game that crashes constantly, is waning fast. Ill get blasted by the forum trolls for this, but honestly, can a moderator look me in the eye and tell me that this crap is good for business? Why develop your game any further when it has terminal node cancer? I realize its because we keep playing, and unfortunately for the player base, this will continue until, as a whole, CCP is made aware that its players will not stand for this poor performance on their part any longer.
Would you continue to make payments on a car that only started 4-5 days a week, or stalled out constantly? no. Would you buy a house that the electricity cut out in 2-3 days a week? no. Would you pay your ISP if they could only provide you with service 4-5 days a week? again, a solid no. Why should CCP get to be any different. I say all future material should be put on the back burner, and CCP should do whatever it takes to fix their constant server siezures, or the first game that comes along that comes even close to this will wipe this game off the map by stealing all its players.

you make a VERY good point...... have you checked out the rev3 blog yet???? it SHOULD help a little, and CCP is acknowledging it by maybe detaining the release of factional warfare, which does seem to indicate they have their heart in the right place. ----------------------------------------------- "Yes... Edited by: SublightNova on 14/08/2007 15:24:52 Wonder if the hardware admins ever heard of redundancy? If not I would fire him on the spot. If he does then I would also fire him on the spot as he is not doing his job.

Originally by: Kylar Renpurs Ironically, I did like this in the news...
Quote:
The server-side patch was deployed during downtime today, Tranquility opened up at 12.05, just slightly delayed. This patch addressed the following fixes:
* Fixing an error in Starbase sentries that would cause them to continue firing after being incapacitated. * Fixing an issue with server startup that was causing sol nodes to fail to start.
We saw the benefits immediately when the server went up with no nodes lost on the first, and only, try. The changes has been added to the Patch Notes page where you can also find information on the latest patch and previous server-side patches for Revelations 2.1.1.
