Try the DR Seuss Guild to fix the problem
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port, And the bus is interrupted as a very last resort, And the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort, Then the socket packet pocket has an error to report!
If your cursor finds a menu item followed by a dash, And the double-clicking icons put your window in the trash, And your data is corrupted 'cause the index doesn't hash, Then your situation's hopeless, and your system's gonna crash!
If the label on your cable on the gable at your house, Says the network is connected to the button on your mouse, But your packets want to tunnel to another protocol, That's repeatedly rejected by the printer down the hall.
And your screen is all distorted by the side effects of gauss, So your icons in the window are as wavy as a souse, Then you may as well reboot and go out with a bang, 'Cause as sure as I'm a poet, the sucker's gonna hang!
When the copy of your floppy's getting sloppy on the disk, And the microcode instructions cause unnecessary RISC, The you have to flash your memory and you'll want to RAM your ROM, Quickly turn off the computer and be sure to tell your mom!
Hope this helps

It might help if all the hardcore players weren't flooding the server with login attempts as soon as it comes up... no wonder it went back down again! -=^=-

Instead of a refund, how about giving us extra time on our accounts for the amount of unexpected downtime. So if the server is unexpectedly down for 2 hours, everyone gets 2+ hours on their szbscription! ________________________________________________

Edited by: SublightNova on 14/08/2007 15:29:18 Nice of the forum moderators here to create a thread with a humorous title.. Also very convenient to kill of the threads already present about this subject and killing of people's critism along with it. That instead of merging those threads. Or are you mods getting used to the drill?
But Actually I have high hopes that when and if the servers comes up again, I'll finally have my avatar after waiting for weeks. So maybe something good will come out of this.

50 seconds until the next reboot everyone! ----- CONCORD Notice: Don't drink and fly. Drunken jumping can result in loss of ship through "navigational error".

I'd say they'd give free day per crash. That would keep em motivated to keep it running.

I think the moderators know this is not good for business. I don't think anyone has to look you in the eye and tell you that. But you cutting 2 accounts and almost dropping the other 2 is good for the lag problem, and thats good for MY business. I'll look you in the eye and say that.

Those that take the time to complain on a sympathetic yet frustrated angle have every right to do so. Whilst we all love playing EVE and without doubt it is a good game, does that really mean we should just accept constant server outages.
Essentially the general comment appears to be the same - CCP please save the new content until such time as your hardware, memory leaks, new languages, database stability etc. are all sorted to a reasonable degree.
When you keep adding weight to the top of an already unstable structure, eventually the foundations will fail. An analogy yes, but the implications are the same.

Good idea - WoW servers don't need 1 hour+ downtime every day, and this is the competition CCP are facing... -=^=-

Good point! Its funny how simple observations can bring out the truth in the situation... He *****es, but he does not leave...
Im just waiting for a game close to this to come along, quite a few of us (from posts on the games forum site) are paitently waiting for Pirates of the Burning Seas. Its not the same, but its close, and im betting upon release, EVE sees a drastic drop in population. I knew, that no matter how civilized i made my post, id get hosers like you two who would blast me for stating an obvious truth. I wodner if you vote, because simply put, if you have a say in something (which we as paying customers do), you can force a change if you voice your opinion in a unified front, such as voting a law down, or a politician out of office. If the general populace of eve were to demand a response, with serious consequences for CCP, then they would be forced to address the problem NOW, not in rev 3, or several months down the road. Have you ever engaged in a 3-400 ship fight? looks cool on the trailer, but the game coding and mechanics just arent up to the task. Unfortunately it seems that BECAUSE of people like this, who refuse to acknowledge the problem, much like the owners of the company that makes this game, that nothing will ever be done about this in any realistic time frame, or with the urgency that a problem like this requires
