IAC gang gets ganked by 2 motherships + support while camping 49-u station. We assemble more, when gang hits 60 we start baiting for motherships at station, they take the bait, 33 people jump in from 4-07, warp to fight, bubble Count.
Support massacred, AAA head over to help, Nyx warps out, warps back in, bubbles up on both, lose bubble briefly and Nyx warps out. 5 hostile carriers seen at fight, 3 of them at least downed.
Wyvern downed, crappy loot.
GF, come back soon ISS =]

Edited by: DTee on 14/08/2007 21:23:42 It was fun to fly through 30 small ships in a sabre. I stayed alive which was a surprise. It was pretty silly of ISS to stick around while they did. The motherships were doomed the minute there were 3 interdictors dropping bubbles left right and centre. I would have thought they could have gotten out had their support concentrated on Interdictors. Thats when "interdictor" only overview settings come to mind. The lag wasn't too bad for us anyway, I dont know about the carriers. I loaded he grid several times because there was a pretty silly off grid near the station.
They were light on heavy hitters except their carriers, they paid the price.
oodbye Wyvern Thank you for the fight. Also thank you to IAC for letting me get the chance :)

MS was dead when it warped into a massive hostile blob and its support got slaughtered, lag or no lag. Feel free to blame anything you want, but tbh if the dictors hadent been lagging that nyx would have never gotten away. Lag affects both sides.

I'm not blaming anything. You seem to have me confused with someone who cares about ISS losing an MS.

This was sure an exciting thing to wake up and log in to
Was a nice fight, flew a dictor myself, hostiles were sure quick to get us primaried. Lag was there, but didn't seem too horrible other than about a minute to load the grid. There was a grid edge probably about 50km from the fight which was kind of annoying because of the grid load lag.
I didn't get to see the loot, but salvaged 734 Ward Console (tech1) on the 5th try

What took place today was nothing short of absolute domination.
We threw massive chains around the necks of these giants. We hauled them, kicking and screaming into the unholy gaping maw of our fleet. The massive jaws of subjugation slammed into their hulls and tore them asunder.
Their iron coffins were their undoing. They chose to underestimate our absolutely undeniable ability to slaughter those we set our sights upon. Our fleet of IAC, Trainwreck, AAA and others formed a massive hammer. We cast their ships upon the anvil of domination and shattered them with a mighty blow.

Bubbling the 2 MS was unbelievably hard, they where 10-15km away from each other so orbit was out of the question so I was flying through both of them and ended up off grid each time.
The offgrid / ongrid lag made me unable to keep bubbles up
If the fight didnt happen so close to offgrid, I'm not sure if the Nyx would have gotten out.
Anyways lag wasnt -that- bad so great fight, absolutely great fight !

Acutally I was the last link in the cyno chain and I was in ISS at the time. So theres one person that was involved. Another was Count in his carrier. Then you have all the people that didn't get on the killmail because of the truncation, of which there were LV that didn't even get on. I even remember some of your guys there that day assisting in the fight. So, in the future please speak of which you know. -----------------

So ISS deserve more credit for the kill than LV do, but ofc Gerontiq deserves most credit for using it badly ;P

Wrong, there was only ONE cyno lit and it was one of our members.
Quote: I even remember some of your guys there that day assisting in the fight. So, in the future please speak of which you know.
You're right we were there assisting. I was FC because none of you scrubs had the ability to do it. I think that would make me "speaking of which I know" so please stfu.

Originally by: Tyrrax Thorrk To be fair the way I heard it ISS tackled Gerontiq and then cynoed for LV capitals.
So ISS deserve more credit for the kill than LV do, but ofc Gerontiq deserves most credit for using it badly ;P
It was mainly my guys dictoring and my guy lit the cyno. There was one or two ISS dictors their but they failed miserably on the first attempt and got popped.
To be fair, the only reason I'm responding so critically is because if you read the description of the fight on their "community site" you would think they did everything when in fact they did next to nothing. They don't even mention my corp which made that kill happen. Without it Gerontiq would have had the happy pleasure of killing that Wyvern in his Nyx.

So true... I've been in fleet battles where I've watched 5 or 6 interdictors just orbit a fleet, completely unable to drop bubbles due to the usual "attempting to activate module" bullcrap.

Only moderate amounts of lag + desync. 1 mom and 3 carriers, not bad for a bunch of macro-miners who can't pvp. This war has become a lot more fun now that FIX have brought their super-cap swinging friends MC and ISS! Keep them coming.

That's rich considering the coalition pretty much drove ISS onto BoBs side...
While we're at it let's argue about whether or not t20 cheated and who had a larger part in the death of V, RA or Goons.
Also what do you think were the major causes of the civil war.

Oh hey, this old debate. While we're at it let's argue about whether or not t20 cheated and who had a larger part in the death of V, RA or Goons.
Also what do you think were the major causes of the civil war and whether or not a recovery was possible for the Byzantine Empire after the first crusade.
All of which has nothing to do with ISS. What's the matter the truth all that inconvenient? . . . Regards, August |

I guess if you say so they did. You don't have to get all uppity just because a mediocre entity incapable of holding the space it lived in (rented) got it taken by people who could. Welcome to the 0.0 ISS seems incapable of living in successfully. Flushing investors money down the toilet on rent to BoB and shiny Wyverns appears to be par for the course on this, the 18 hole monster we call **** Poor Judgement and Leadership.

possibly some of those 'sensor boosters' aren't actually sensor boosters ... 0_o
pretty decent fight tho, seeing as there were less than 100 people in local as MC/FiX/ISS dropped the multiple MS/Carrier bomb and about 175 people in local as the Wyvern exploded in a very shiny explosion or so it seems (that movie isn't clear enough, hope someone gets a close up out soonÖ)

First hand battle report from 49- ISS mom kill.
After finishing up some administrative stuff I decided to pull up our intel channel. I immediately noted the request for pilots. This wasnt that unusual and i had been rather bored cooped up in station all day. I rolled out in my flycatcher and met up with our gang in 25s on the rr- gate.
Tyrrax was already in 49- with a smaller contingent of pilots. After asking around I discovered that ISS and MC were feeling froggy and had just bloodied our fleet about 30 min previously. So we got a few more pilots (gang was up to about 50 or so) and moved down the pipe. The group from the FAT area held up in 4-0 discussing the best beverage to drink before a fight when Tyrrax announced hostiles engaged at the station.
We jumped in our 35 heavy support and immediately warped to the station. Oddly nothing was showing up but lots of reds were flashing on overview. Tyrrax kept asking where were we.. After a brief repositioning we realized that the gang that was in 49- was actually in an off grid location from the station as such no one in the heavy support gang had eyes on any hostiles or friendlies.
We quickly fixed this and warped in on the moms. 2 MC moms +5 carriers with a nice gang of about 50+ were being harassed by about 55-60 IAC pilots.
Count T primary! We immediately began mowing through the support as dictor bubbles were dropped on the moms and carriers. At this point I got popped caught by a nice burst from a mom. I went back to the POS and picked up a ceptor and went right back in. It seemed that the IAC fleet was able to neutralize the McFixiss support and pull them away from the moms. This was mainly done by killing them and forcing them to undock in a new ship which put them 150k from the super capitals. A group of carriers were sitting close to the station assigning fighter support and i assume repping each other.
Around this time -A- starting showing up in force and began to put more damage into the capitals. The IAC gang was growing and had hit about 95 at this point. Many pilots were not in gang because of the mad dash down and the focus of pilots on combat instead of invites.
We worked our way through the support and started putting the heavy firepower on Aretins Archon. He had no hope since he was out of range of any help from the station and had multiple webs on him. He fell after holding on for several min. We then changed over to Count T who had been tanking fairly well with support from the MC Nyx.
The two moms were positioned about 15k from each other and as our dictors worked hard to keep both of them bubbled one strayed to close to the MC mom and its bubble got popped by a smart bomb. We scrambled to launch another bubble but it was to late. The MC mom got away. I can only imagine the horror as Count T realized that he was still in a bubble and was stranded left behind to die like the MC mom that fell not so long ago.
Around this point IAC warped a Elveebee with his Moros in on Count T and he went right to work in seige mode.
Because the fight was spread over at least 150k with two static points (the station and the mom) our lighter support focused on the station and keeping the McFIXiss support contained. At least 2 times they tried to break through to the mom but both times their rescue fleet of about 7 ships got popped. Eventually Count T fell isolated, alone, and stranded.
We changed our focus over to Spacebar in his Nidhoggur. He was the last carrier left outside and he couldnÆt get within docking range. He too fell, alone with no support left and no carriers to rep him.
As IAAAC assessed the field and secured the loot we took a moment to pause and review what had just happened.

IAAAC had just pulled off a 2nd mom kill! We had 2 carriers and so many support i cant list them all and we had more loot then we knew what to do with. It actually took a freighter to haul it all out.
Max IAC gang size at end of fight 104 Max -A- gang size at end of fight: unknown Local count during fight: Unknown was to busy to look
Fight Start time: 20:19 Fight End time: 21:37 Kills: 64 including pods 1 mom, and 2 carriers Losses: 26 including pods
For the record the fight before when we got bloodied by McFixiss in 49-
Losses: 19 counting pods Kills: 7 counting pods
Review of game performance: In general there was limited lag and only partial de-sync. The majority of our forces reported no major issues. A few pilots had de-sync but this resolved after they left the fight and came back in. We did have a few pilots crash repeatedly during the fight but it was usually the same pilots who experienced this. Module delay was around 5 seconds or so.
Thundirr out.

It was not privately funded.
Count is actually a nice enough guy, I don't like the flaming on here even though I have more reason than most to flame... but when it comes to PvP he really should let others do all the work.
And the goon trolls really should be quiet about the IPO - they clearly know nothing about it or how the funds have been allocated. Its being managed by a very competent group of players and is seperate from alliance funds.
To be clear - I have no love for ISS, seeing their MS go boom made me chuckle, but some of the Goon/IAC propaganda in this thread is simply laughable.

ISS will always be great to those to whom that opinion matters the most. ourselves. afterall, the people we have may be less in number than what we once were, but i don't think we've ever been more cohesive and dedicated to each other and whatever cause we decide to go up against, pass or fail.
and furthermore, we don't blame each other when we fail. we pick up the pieces, help each other rebuild and figure out where we went wrong so we can try again. now whats wrong with that? i rarely saw that as a whole with the way we were.
Count has been instrumental in including us in the direction of the alliance and we all had no problems putting him into that ship just as he had no problems taking it into battle, where it belonged. (Plus he is always there for ops )
That being said, Count loses capitals so we don't have to! (j/p Count)

My corp and I stuck around through the thick AND thin, mostly were involved in the thin.
The thin was the part where everyone blew us up in every region we went to after having kicked our sorry asses out of our home systems, we had high level's making plans for a coup, we had management ratting in one system while their brothers bled for them in the systems next door (note, there was some type of special arrangement to not attack this person btw), we had poor decisions in where the alliance should end up even though many of the ceo's said that it was a bad idea, we had promises that were never kept by management (this was finally admitted to me by management even though they tried to deny it profusely multiple times), we had people who would log out when enemies came around instead of trying to help defend, we had half the alliance leave during the "thin" times and then be welcomed back as if nothing happened once we were settled in a nice, rich area, we had a delay on removing a cancer in management because of some deal that did not benefit the alliance in the long run.
I could go on for a while with this. I really like(d) Count and some other management however, there were some serious issues in that alliance.
I can feel good about one thing though, my corp and I stuck through the thin and left after ISS had a bit of a rebound not when it needed our help the most. I also feel good that I personally did as much as I could do for many different ones in ISS, even management even when some of the leadership was failing to practice what they preached or were being two faced traitorous liars, I'm sure we know who that was :) -----------------

From experience, I'm going to guess that all the MS smartbombs killed his heavies :/
Also, afaik, the last weapon that hit shows up on killmails. Given the ROF on capital guns, it's often the drones that end up on the killmail.

With the size of Drone bay on the Moros & the bonus to drone damage one would hope he would have at least 1 set of sentries in there.
I had my ship & drones well within 5km of the Wyvern & didn't take smartbomb damage, so either they weren't fitted or he didn't have the cap left to use them however I jumped in mid-battle & therefore may have missed the Wyvern smartbombing.
There was a huge mass of drones swarmed on it when we were killing it & I didn't see that swarm thin out at all during the "battle". --- Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

No, it was a shield and armor tank. Quite speshal.
From what I've seen of the Wyvern fit it wasnt that bad. Sure, it wasnt pimped, but it was okay.
Count is very good at bringing people together for a common goal. He has vision, and is a pretty radical thinker in respect of how to get the most out of this game. He is also charismatic, for the most part, and a nice guy to talk to. He actually does make quite a good alliance leader.
However, what he is not, is a gifted PvPer. And I think accepting your weaknesses is perhaps something he needs to bear in mind before frontlining another capital ship or FCing.

You obviously dont know anything about what happened the night that Nyx died. ISS were the first to engage that Nyx and the only reason it was killed was because of ISS interdiction spheres and ISS bumping.

Well Gee wiz, so was Prefect Six. Infact he was FCing, and I opened the cyno and it was our corp that had all the dictor pilots (Bar one ISSN dictor) of course this isn't what the ISS 'news' site says in it's recount of events. Something I have asked Count and Dale to change many times with no response. Also involved in the bumping were LV, EXE and MWA.

I can confirm that count was indeed yelling "keep him bumped" every 12 seconds over vent, and if someone else was fc'ing, I sure as hell didn't notice it .
Also I was that one ISSN dictor who was also the first to bubble after the other guy foolishly warped at the wrong range and got himself killed .

And reasoning like this is why ISS is so respected as an organization and why the fight to defend C3 and ZXIC and KDF went so well. It's probably also why CT lost his MS. I mean, why use logic reasoning and facts when we can just stick our fingers in our ears and yell NAHNAHNAHNAH so we don't have to deal with truth.
It's really not a big deal, we've made no dramabomb post about CT's refusal to change the "factual news item" on ISS's webpage, but to hang your hat on an event that at BEST was a joint op with minimal ISS involvement and at worst really would never have happened if ISS had been running the show there shows how hungry ISS still is for relevance.
Its sad that the wonderful idea of ISS has now fallen to the point where revisionist history and excuse making, along with the same old ****ty commitment to pilots and intelligent planning are the order of the day. Oh yeah, what ever happened to that 100 bil?

Well I can say it like this, the original fraps I recorded was recording vent as well, and unless Count T magically gained a thick arkansas accent as we were killing the Nyx I'm fairly sure you can tell just who was FC'ing. Also Eliza, I respect you as a pilot and you've always seemed nice enough but both you and Lister went up for the first run of bubbles.

Looking at this bull**** news post that you put up about the IAC nyx it also says that Count was FC'ing rather than My CEO Prefect Six. Count was in JV1V at the time a good 20 jumps away. How could you possibly call that correct?
I can say it like this. I was on ISS vent listening to Count. Not your CEO.
This is a EOD from my side. You have your points of view and I have mine. Nothing you say will change my mind about what happened and vice versa. Lets keep it at that.

They probably have rules about this sort of thing.
You know, once, they had this member... made terrible problems for them on the forums. Sad story.
I wonder what happened to him...

This Count T v. Prefect Six drama is confusing because I don't have a pre-packaged bias lens to simplify and ease my tired mind.
How can I cheerlead when I don't support either team?

Count T is a tool and ISS is about as useless as the hair around a man's nipples. Feel free to form objective, unbiased commentary now.

Actually that wasn't my mom, that was my (ex-)girlfriend who got off on jerking me around when she was cranky. I actually wish you had made a recording so I could play it back into her voice mail so she can hear how crazy she is.
