I like Rise, because they do bring their ships to the fights, and they keep the local channel clear. Unlike another of their allies that just smack from their stations when a TCF gang come in... And even if they're currently fairly bad at pvp, well, it's by losing ships that you learn to make the other one lose his ship instead...

I can't help but think of the movie Boiler Room: "The honor's in the dollar, kid.".

Teenage party gatecrashed by 250
Hundreds of teenagers gatecrashed a Sov 4 party after the alliance posted details of the event on the internet.
Natalie Jones, 14, was expecting about 80 friends and relatives to turn up at her party at St John's Church Hall in RIT, Feythabolis.
She turned up to find the system full of about 250 people she did not know, many of them drunk and rowdy.
Natalie said she had only told a few people on the internet messaging service EVE-O but news must have spread.
Concord arrived at the party last week after about 90 minutes, and arrested four youths for allegedly being drunk and disorderly.
Five patrol cars and a support unit were sent to the System, where they found the hall strewn with broken bottles, ship wrecks and covered in vomit.
A burger van had even appeared in the system to cater for the young people.
Vicar's wife Marian Nobsworthy, 53, came out of the parsonage and described the scene as "absolute carnage."
Natalie, who is a pupil at Amarr High School in Jita, said she was upset by what had happened.
"I was late for my own party and when I went inside it was full of people I didn't know. There were strangers coming up to me asking me if it was my party," she said.
"I was soon in tears and I didn't know what to do."
"I had told a few people on EVE-O but it wasn't on MySpace or Facebook. I think people had told people and it all got out of hand."
She said future Sovereignty parties would be invitation only.
Concord said: "We received a report that a large number of juveniles had gatecrashed the party after seeing it on the internet and had turned up the worse for alcohol.
"They had come from all over and most of them were from outside the area. We believe that some of them may even have been Goons."

This might be true for some but a lot of goons I have spoken to seem quite into the game and are interested in the ships, skills, pvp, etc. They may be more interested in being goons than in being eve pilots, but thats not the same thing as saying they are not interested.
I dont think they are that interested in the "politics" side of the game as we used to know it but then there are not that many that are.
A lot of vets now want to join tri. outbreak, infod type ganker corps that just go around shooting people with no empire building goals and I dont see how that is so different from the goons mentality of just playing for fun.
This is a very good game and just because you like to be a bit ironic internet cool when your mates are looking doesnt mean that deep down you can't actually grow to love it and offer up the odd heartfelt "gf"

Indeed this is why goonswarm is one of the rare alliances that actually doesnt bother filling CoAD with propaganda- we dont need it cause i dont need to convince a empire pubbie that im right. I sorely wished i was playing EVE when the first era of threadnaught stuff went down, I PLAY THE GAME FOR FUN and following your friggin ideals aint a rule in the TOS. I dont care if you dont like how i talk and fight haha you cant tell me what i can and cannot do everyone seems to forget this. You can shun me but its pretty pointless because your stupidity has already damned you in my eyes in the first place.
