Teenage party gatecrashed by 250

Hundreds of teenagers gatecrashed a Sov 4 party after the alliance posted details of the event on the internet.

Natalie Jones, 14, was expecting about 80 friends and relatives to turn up at her party at St John's Church Hall in RIT, Feythabolis.

She turned up to find the system full of about 250 people she did not know, many of them drunk and rowdy.

Natalie said she had only told a few people on the internet messaging service EVE-O but news must have spread.

Concord arrived at the party last week after about 90 minutes, and arrested four youths for allegedly being drunk and disorderly.

Five patrol cars and a support unit were sent to the System, where they found the hall strewn with broken bottles, ship wrecks and covered in vomit.

A burger van had even appeared in the system to cater for the young people.

Vicar's wife Marian Nobsworthy, 53, came out of the parsonage and described the scene as "absolute carnage."

Natalie, who is a pupil at Amarr High School in Jita, said she was upset by what had happened.

"I was late for my own party and when I went inside it was full of people I didn't know. There were strangers coming up to me asking me if it was my party," she said.

"I was soon in tears and I didn't know what to do."

"I had told a few people on EVE-O but it wasn't on MySpace or Facebook. I think people had told people and it all got out of hand."

She said future Sovereignty parties would be invitation only.

Concord said: "We received a report that a large number of juveniles had gatecrashed the party after seeing it on the internet and had turned up the worse for alcohol.

"They had come from all over and most of them were from outside the area. We believe that some of them may even have been Goons."

After reading up on the RISE forums and seeing how it all works internally, I have to say kudos - for an organisation of people managed not by themselves for the goals of non-RISE after being parked in Feythabolis by others.

Still, looking at RISE internally I am asking myself if Feythabolis is not cursed in some form or another. There is no difference at all between the organisational state of mind of ASCN in its worst moment before demise, and RISE.
I feel pity for the pilots who after months of constant brainwashing by repetitive message traffice think they are a PVP alliance, with all their energy and soul focused on a fight in which they are just not a factor.
It's sad to observe so many RISE pilots, even corporations, who have indeed come a long way to show some initiative and teamwork (since the days of Syndicate) falling for the same traps of delusion and leadership as many alliances before them. Alliances who forgot the differences between perceived reality and actual reality, and the major difference between the "want", "hope" and "have" factors.

Either way, it would be wrong to congratulate RISE on performance, or even accomplishments. Nothing RISE currently has is something they worked for, or even fought for. Nothing they rely on is theirs, not even their own leadership.
My thoughts go out to those pilots of RISE who have come the long way of learning to take charge and initiative, on their own accord, you will feel betrayed by your own leadership when it's all over, but at least you will be the ones to have grown and learned, ready to adapt and possibly be your own organisation finally.

All mails that have been brought to my attention as of this morning have been posted.

To recap, our killboard couldn't keep up with the load last night. For some reason, half of EVE was trying to load it at the same time. :) It is mostly back up, but still having some problems (notice that it is showing a generic banner, for example). Several of our pilots logged while it was completely down last night, so there are probably still some kills and losses missing.

It is R I S E policy to post all kills and losses. As an example of how seriously we take our killboard, one night I set self destruct on my pod after losing my ship. An alliancemate saw it and popped me so that I wouldn't have to wait around for the 2 minute timer. That mail got posted.

If you find any from last night that are still missing, please contact me directly and I'll make sure they get posted.

The reality is that we haven't been attacking you. We've been beating BoB in Omist and our systems in Tenerifis. Now that they are just about finished, you're next on the list.

I like the "fight to the last ship" bravado. I felt the same way when it looked like BoB might have a shot of beating us. I also think it will be interesting to see how SOV 4 affects your ability to defend your systems.

But, let's get back to reality again. There is no way you can defend your space from us. We have too many pilots, around the clock coverage, and you're only a few jumps away. The only things left to be decided are how long it will take us and how many possessions you will have left when you do evacuate. The intelligent decision would be to get the hell out now before we move in. Go take some space somewhere else in 0.0, far away from our home systems, and eventually form up with some other alliances to try and come back and kick our asses after this chapter of the war is over.
