Polaris? (doesnt actually have that much iirc, however with resistances it should have that much 'effective')

Ya mean POS structures?
If that is what ya mean, it is a bit odd.

Someone else had a go at explaining this a while ago. They said that because these structures were stationary, they could afford to use really dense and tough materials that ships could not, as they don't need to move. They also don't have engines, so the extra space is given over to HP.
Something like that.

That's because once they're anchored, the original build materials turn into unobtainium.

I'm talking about once the tower is down, without the resists.
and the idea of super dense armor and shields is fine. but were talking structure. if it has 15 mil shield or armor that would make more sense. ----------------------------------- I'm working my way through college target CCP

Increase resists to 99%, reduce structure amount by a factor of 10, and your problem is solved.

Yep.. pretty much what I said :)
Think of it as a single large gun inside a solid titanium box... thats allot of metal to chew through before you get to the juicy center. Don't think of it as plates of armor/structure.. think of it more as a solid chunk.
Picture a 10 foot by 10foot box composed purely of metal plates sandwiched together. You can shoot it allot and it will take damage.. eventually you might get lucky and have a few plates fall off.Sooner or later you will get to the center. Its less structurally sound then say a totally solid metal box where you literally have to blow chunks of metal off w/o the possibility of an entire plate slab falling off.
Till CCP gives a better reason.. this is mine.. and I'm sticking to it :P ------------ This is not War... This is pest control - Dalek Sek

Couldnt agree more, POS guns take more time then the tower itself -----

no matter how you do it.. it can't...
