Necronomicon Caldari KIA Corp	Posted - 2007.08.19 19:58:00 - [1] Yesterday during the crap storm that was the DB Crashes, KIA Alliance ceased to trade[CLOSED] This was NOT Intentional. It has been petitioned, and the outcome is that after DT yesterday, an alliance bill that was seen by not one of our 12+ Directors expired, DURING the extended issues with the servers, so we were unable to pay this invisible bill, and the Alliance is now closed. The Stance by CCP is 'deal with it' which, considering the failures that we the players have had to put up with is very very dissappointing. We would very much like to 'deal with it' but since the Alliance is still in existance, we cannot re-create it. This is not about the isk, nor is it about the hours of standings resets we will have to do, this is about (for whatever reason) we were unable to see or pay a bill due to CCP issues. The basic fact is that, at the time of the bill expiring, we were unable to gain access to the game and therefore pay the bill, this is our case. Carlsberg dont make Eve Pilots, but if they did, i wouldnt be one of them.

I have had no response since 15:43 today, which was the basic "Sorry, but tough" (Nicely put by them ofc) Carlsberg dont make Eve Pilots, but if they did, i wouldnt be one of them.

I dont know what I am more annoyed about, whether it is the attitude taken towards the issue, or the amount of time between the raising of the issue and getting a response, we are not taking about a re-imbursment for a lost shuttle here, this affects over 200 pilots. Carlsberg dont make Eve Pilots, but if they did, i wouldnt be one of them.

I do not know the timeframe but there is a grace period from when the bill is submitted to when it expires to pay up. Unless this Bill was invisible the whole time I am not sure how your Alliance Directors missed it for that long. Barring a weird invisible bill glitch I have never seen mentioned sounds like someone was asleep at the wheel in Alliance HQ.

It's not about ships lost or any battle, it's about logstics, and there is no reason why this should not be fixed easily. You should include that you cannot recreate the alliance because the name is already taken in your petition though. Was the server available to the player base at the time when the bill expired? If the answer is no, then it is reasonable to assume that a director could have paid the bill IF he/she were able to access the server. Carlsberg dont make Eve Pilots, but if they did, i wouldnt be one of them.

I'm sure it's not such a big deal.

I cannot speak for CCP Wrangler of course but his post asking you to detail the name issue in your petition sounds to me like they will probably sort that part of it out for you so ou get your name back.

The server was accessible, though there were issues shortly after the bill was due, and the eve mail notice to pay the bill was sent a month in advance, so it's no last minute thing. It is strange that you can't create an alliance with your old name, since the name is not taken by any character or corporation. But obviously we will look into it and solve that part of the problem. I can tell you that when the server came up it was more or less unusable. I know we are using the DB issues as a technicality, but they are just that, the Server was fubar as well you know at the time of the bill expiring. Eddz has already gorged himself on humble pie and all of Eve knows what has transpired, but if anyone thinks KIA Alliance is going to quietly into the night over a couple fo simple mistakes - on both sides - then they are sorely mistaken. Wrangler, with all due respect, it has taken over 24 hours for me to be pushed to making this public, I do not wish to keep fighting CCP on this matter, I just want the KIA name, and position to remain in place. I am willing to be civil and flexiable on this issue, we all know that both sides (one more than the other) have contributed to this issue. We don't mind the hassle of re-creation, nor the cost. But denying us our name is a bitter pill to swallow. And really, does anyone want Eddz visiting Iceland with a chip on his shoulder? Yeesh, it would be like the Tazmanian Devil on steriods with the dancing skills of Gandhi Carlsberg dont make Eve Pilots, but if they did, i wouldnt be one of them.
