Firstky , To CCP I love this game I think it is the cutting edge of MMO's. With that said let me get to my little polite but heartfelt rant. There has been alot of changes in Eve since its release alot of them very good some not so. I think one of the biggest imbalnces in EVE is Risk vs Reward. Let me explain with a few examples. For instance a entity holding 0.0 space can literally hold off attacks buy placing more towers and/or repping the shields armor of current POS's. I dont know if many of the Devs have ever spent much time shooting a POS but it is the one of the most boring things one can do in Eve. Whatever happened to bringing a fleet and shooting someone station and taking control of it? What was the fundamental problem with that scenario. Afterall the Tutorial explains to you that 0.0 space is lawless space where there is great reward but greater risk. This is vague truth .
What about cloaking battleships? Ive traveled through several regions ill enter local hit my ship scanner see a battleship in a belt warp to the belt and midway through warp that BS has warped and cloaked. Not to pat my own back but im very good with the scanner and can narrow and locate a target very quickly. Its rediculous IMO where is the RISK vs REWARD in this situation. I heard that soon we able to scan ships with prototype cloaks but at that point Im willing to be people will just logoff.
I read a thread in this section just a few minutes ago where the OP was suggesting that autopilot warp your ship to 0 on the gate. In his mind it makes it easier for him and saves him time but it also negates the RISK vs REWARD concept. When you autopilot you take the chance of getting ganked in those KM's it takes you to travel to the gate.
Im a veteran of several MMO's and it seems they all do the same. They introduce new content to attract new players and lower the curve from beginner to high end. I understand that CCP is a business and the ultimate driving force is the almighty dollar. I know new content is a nessacary thing to keep the populus interested and suscriber rate up. But from speaking from expierience these little features just serve to drive away players.
I pretty much know that CCP will not remove these changes and im wasting my time with this thread. It was the same in EQ when they introduced the " Plane of Knowledge" and suddenly travel in EQ went from a challenge to brainless. Our the guild hall where corpse recovery went from challenging to no challenge thus removing risk vs reward. Thats what is happening in Eve.
Guy #1 " O darn there attacking our POS's " Guy #2 " We dont have the force to counter them" Guy #1 " Dont worry after they leave we will erect more POS Guy #2 " what about the POS they shot"? Guy #1 " Dont worry I adjusted the stront level so they come out of reenforced when those guys are in bed" Guy #2 " What about the POS they put up?" Guy #1 " As long as we have more POS than they do its no biggy"
Now I know this isnt true for every situation but this tactic is widely used and very broken. Where is the risk vs the reward here? I suggest polling the community and ask them if they think this scenario is fun or entertaining.
So in Conclusion CCP I beg that you revisit RISK vs REWARD in EVE or at least please let RISK vs REWARD become a more serious consideration in future content.

This one is easy. The cloaked battleship can do nothing while in this risk-free mode of operation. Therefore, he cannot get any rewards at the same time he is taking no risks. Pretty simple dude.

Understand the Risk vs Reward concept and totally agree with the Plane of Knowledge comment.
Problem here is, some tiny changes have far reaching effects and alot work would have to be done.
For example, getting rid of local would change the face of the game and not for the better without some far reaching balancing being redone. Probably some pretty drastic changes. For it would allow farmers to be hunted with impunity and slowly people would give up farming which in turn prices would go up on minerals which in turn make ships so expensive that people would give up playing for the risk vs reward would swing do drasticly, that the reward is far out weighed by the risk.
Who wants to work a week to afford a ship that could be lost in 5 mins.
EVE is about PVP and Empires, if you changed how POSs worked, you need to come up with a idea that still makes building your own Empire valid.
