Im little tired of being called a Macro Miner
Im just wondering how FAR CCP will go with these kinda people running around calling people one. Maybe they need to start charging people for False Narking?
I step out to bathroom
Maybe the family
Maybe I have more then one account?
For whatever reason stop thinking everyone is macro miner, maybe give us 10 to 15min to reply.
BTW - I think CCP has more important things to worry about then me taking a crap!

Wait a minute.
You step out to the bathroom.
But you keep dragging ore to the can.
And you expect people to think you're not using a macro?

You claim that people are calling you a macro because you mine when you're away from the computer dealing with ordinary RL things.
Doesn't something seem inherently wrong with that? You're mining while away from the computer, doing other things.
Unless you're running back to the computer every 3 minutes to jet your ore...

Did he say that? He said he could take a dump.
I mine in a hulk with expanders, it takes a while for the cargohold to become full. Yesturday I cooked spaghetti while it filled up

Edited by: Robstr on 20/08/2007 04:07:27 Edited by: Robstr on 20/08/2007 04:06:23 For the lower skilled in mining you could be looking at 7 minutes for ice. You could have nearly 14 minutes AFK there in a retriever. Plenty of time for me to go make a sandwich or take a deuce. That's plenty of time for someone to think your a macroer try to contact you and report you or blow you up.
That's not saying I think High sec ganking is broken though. Just that it's possible, even probable, to not be a macroer and AFK for a decent period of time. ====

You walk away from your computer yet you still mine perfectly fine.
Please, go cut yourself. But remember -It's down the hiway, not across the street.

True, but on the other hand, isn't the primary way people find macro miners by seeing them fill up a can of ore while not responding to convos and such?
If they're not jetting the ore and they're not moving, they're just AFKing.
Of course, if "macro hunters" are dumb enough to dumb anyone AFK a macro miner, its their problem.

Ah? Remember some people have more then one account. Maybe there 4 of us in belt? Could someone came back jet can? then someone seen this happen - but second later YOUR MACRO MINER because drones come out? Give me break!
BTW Where im mining ( I DON'T THINK MACRO would TEMPT it with no station, other then the next gate jump. I find most are in high security running hulks back and forth to station ( Lets think about this one )

Proof to the contrary not existing, everybody can assume about you whatever the heck they want, and you can't do a damn thing about that.
NOT directed at you, but at people mistaken for macros in general. Tired of being labeled as a "macro" ? How about stop ACTING like one then ?
How about you start chatting up with random people in local once in a while ? That channel's pretty silent most of the time (unless you're in Jita or another hub), so at least some of "the locals" would stop thinking you're a macro. You never know who the heck comes up "macro hunting", and somebody else defends you (verbally).
Also, it helps if you're NOT in a NPC corp. Are you in a NPC corp ? Create your own if you want to be left alone, just don't sit in a NPC corp.
Do you have a bio ? Does it say in that bio you are sometimes mistaken for a macro ? Does it say that you usually go away from the KB to do stuff while the hold fills up ?
If you still get mistaken for a macro user and get blown up, well then, tough luck. Maybe next time you'll dock before you go AFK ?

I believe most people who replied to this topic have it NAILED!
I mine sometimes and you know whatà..
I have to stay at the computer the whole time, and IĈm lucky if I get a bio Brake. If I do take a bio brake I run, or do it as quickly as possible. I also, take the time to chat to people, in local, on other channels and whatnot.
Sorry to say K Rose, you sure sound like a Macro to me, or a want-to-be Macroer.
-If your AFK mining your Fair Game, as far as IĈm concerned and probably the vast majority of the community as well. -If your on another account with one is mining your still AFK!
Hope your not Jetcan mining cause they are mine if you do, and if IĈm really lucky Ill get to take your ship from you in the process (flagged).
Iv seen some really stupid post in here, and I have made some myself. But this one takes the Cake!
Ever heard the saying K Rose ôSticks and Stonesö.

A lot of the isk sellers have migrated away from macromining - probably because of the harassment. To the harassers: job well done.
Too bad now they're all in 0.0 in cloaking ravens or running high sec level 4s with impunity :\
If you don't want to be harassed in high sec move away from the busy systems, amarr space is pretty empty - apart from the remaining macrominers who got tired of being harassed.

I'm curious, what exactly happens when you're, "called a Macro Miner"?
Does the billboard in the system get updated? Does your ship get swacked with nasty "Ima Dirty MM" graffiti? Do GMs descend upon you with a barrage of legalese?
If not, who cares?
I can understand it's the principle of the thing. Sucks being guilty until proven innocent and yada yada. But that implicitly implies that your attitude makes all the difference.
Think of it this way: There are actual, no kidding MM'ers out there blithely going on about their macro'y business, unaffected by the drama on the forums they cause, and apparently uninterested in anyone's indignation at their existance.
So... isn't it just a wee bit ironic that the actual isk farming, macro-mining hooha's apparently don't care but yet the falsely accused take the misdirected heat and fire it right back into the general eve masses?
Water + Duck's Back = Win imo
another way of looking at it: - You prep your ship for mining efficiency - You prep your ship to withstand whatever little NPC rats might spawn
Why not prep yourself just in case any "idiots" spawn? Like, I don't know, have some razzes prepared in advance to cut & paste into local to make em look stupid.
How many can flippers does it take to screw in a jetcan? Just one. He only needs one hand to flip the can so the other one is free...
ha-yuck
Ok... that's a good example of why you prepare in advance.
