Also, I should mention that tracking someone down and /disliking all of his posts is a lot more work than the average forum troll is willing to put in.
Just sayin'. |

I said in v1 of these test forums in numerous ways and now all I'll say is 'like' is stupid, having a 'dislike' would be even stupider and tying those into how other people would get to see posts would be super duper stupid. |

LIKE 4EVAR Don't spam please. I would like to ask all of you to stop posting for likes (aka "spam") but instead contribute to the discussion instead.
The first Likenaught went down because of "spam". So please don't. Really. |

Just sayin'. If it's the same character you're looking to dislike, there should be a limit on how many dislikes you can give a certain character in a given amount of time |

Bravo, OP. Just imagine the number of dislikes a devblog like "Those anomaly changes in full" would receive. That should be enough incentive for CCP not to introduce that... :P If anything that'd be reason enough to add dislike. I like to think that CCP would appreciate a nice simple metric for how well liked a new feature is. |

I rather have character age under the portrait, it works quite nicely on another forum that I have been a member of for over 10 years. Oh god now I feel old all of a sudden. |

This whole "like" thing seems to be an attempt to emulate Facebook for some obscure reason. There are a whole lot of Eve players who, not only don't use Facebook, but who actively dislike it. Personally, can't stand the thing. I'm rather fond of what little internet privacy I have, and there is no chance I'll willingly use something that proclaims my "status" to the world. I don't even use the Eve Gate version of Facebook for anything but corp info or getting to the forum |

Alright, here is a valid point of discussion. There are a few other social forums out there that use the like button to try to add value to content posted. The question is, does anyone using those other sites actually care about the likes on their posts/comments? |

Hmm, the creator of facebook wants one happy world where people can only like things, I guess.
Eve-online though... as we all know, is not all that happy most of the time. So it would be appropriate to add a _DISLIKE_ button as well. If they'd do that, then this like-system may stay, imo. |

I feel much the same way. I got a Facebook account at one time, and tried to get rid of it but couldn't. Once in a while I take a look at what is going on in there, and what I see is a lot of people posting, and not really paying attention to their likes, only the comments. I think the like system there is more for the reader and not the poster. |

Just sayin'.
It is enough for unpopular points of view or opinions to get 'targeted' by large groups, ie nerf moon mining and the haters come along to dislike those supporting that point of view. *IF* dislike carries any weight besides a count it gets much more worse from there.
As it stands all not getting likes does is show you probably haven't posted anything OR only troll but it doesn't guarantee either of those being true. Just as a large like count only shows you probably post alot, are getting likes for nothing, or have been on the forums for a long time, none of which are guaranteed to be correct.

Just sayin'. I disagree. It's easy now to search posts. A quick script could crawl all those pages and dislike each post. I'm sure a like version is in progress at this very moment if not already completed. |

So likes in general are irrelevant. As neat as it is to have a huge like count under my name, it doesn't mean anything. Status gain generally happens in game, not in the forums. |

I wonder if we get any comments at all from Team Occam's Razor or any dev responsible for forum "development". It`s easier to ignor such threads and just lock them. But obviously there is a serious issues with forum stability and performance with all this likies stuff.

Exactly, the creator(s) of facebook are pussies and they want to make the world seem like a place full of roses and flowers, hence no DISLIKE button, eve-online however is a dark place, so it needs a dislike button. They even represented those new forums as a platform that's ready for new EPIC flame wars.
SO either get rid of this 'like' system, or keep it but add a dislike button, kthxbye . |

CCP isn't going to fix anything, they worked hard to get everything just PERFECT for us, we're all just ungrateful
Also, as we've seen with the lack of new Cyno Graphics: Effort is hard. |
