The scenario is this.
I challenged Curzon Dax, both on his Battleship Challenge thread and through Eve-mail, with a wager of 250 mill. Payout, given Curzon Dax's 5:1 odds, would be 1.25 bill. My conditions were that I would be battling in my Myrmidon against Dax's battleship, and second, that the battleship of his choice would not be a NosDomi.
Before the duel, we negotiated that Nos-fitted Dominixes would be ruled out, but battleship-sized Nosferatu would still be allowed. We negotiated, further, a few more conditions.
-No ECM
-Curzon Dax can fire the first shot
In addition, Curzon asked me to up the ante, and I raised the bet to 500 mill. Curzon then, and I quote, saud,
"will you settle for 2.5:1 odds? Let me rephrase. You WILL settle for 2.5:1 odds."
I figured I didn't have a choice, so I accepted. Curzon undocked his ship, we flagged aggro to each other, and warped off to the engagement spot (P5, M1). There were two spectators: boogaboob (who had both of us locked) and TheBinary (who didn't).
I warped into the moon at 0, and find his Scorpion 100km away. He locks me, and I find myself suddenly sensor damped. I MWD towards him. At 30km, I find myself dual webbed (dual officer web) and hit by a rack of Nos. At 24km, I'm scrammed. My cap dies fast, and I'm hitting boosters to keep my MWD up (240m/s). With my MWD active, I gain on him, but the cycle ends and he gains again. It ends with me out of boosters, and him in a 15km orbit around me, plinking me with two torpedo launchers.
With my shields at 50%, he offers surrender to me. I refuse. He tells me he doesn't want to kill my ship, and has only killed 1 in all of his challenges. I tell him that I refuse.
With my armor at 80%, he tries to ransom me for 50 mill. Declares that if I pay him 50m, he'll let my ship live. I refuse, and tell him to fight it to the end.
As I'm 80% into structure, I launch drones, while watching my cap and waiting for the 1 point of cap I need to keep my DCU going. My drones aggro and zoom towards him after a while, and they start chewing at him. He switches targets, hitting my Ogre II with torpedoes (it doesn't work). boogaboob, in a shuttle, confirms that his shields are disappearing, and he warps out with his armor at 75-90%.
I claim a victory. He claims that his Overview was bugged, and that his drone control window was missing though he had drones in his ship. Furthermore, he claims I had an advantage, in that he hasn't undocked in 3 months and barely knows how to fly in space. On these terms, he claims that the fight was not fair.
Though he returned the 500 mill I transferred to him for good faith before the fight, he has yet to pay me the 1.25 billion which was promised before the duel.

personly siren if he dosent pay i think we should kill him, thats just low, a fair fight well fair for him, he still goes down and now he wont pay?
well i hope no ever does a fair 1v1 with this guy again. How can some over trust him now that he went back on his word, thats crap.

To be honest there is no such thing as a 1v1 or a fair fight, anyone with half a brain and some PvP experience could see that Dex is just a rich guy that doesn't know the first thing about PvP and is just out there for shock value and to make more ISK by ripping people off.
He's repeatedly tried to challenge guys like tiller just to get some more publicity, tiller, who isn't a moron, refused him, as do other actual PvPers.
This "dual" you fought might be PvP, but it wasn't EVE. All "1v1"s are just ganks waiting to happen, weather by a 3rd party or one of the 2nd parties.

Yes, I was there, and yes, I can confirm that what Siren said happened. Curzon would have won easily, and frankly in a very lame (and boring to watch) way, if not for the auto-aggro of the drones.
It was utterly hilarious watching this carefully constructed scenario of Curzon's being ****** up by nothing more than flaky drone AI. Curzon might still have pulled off a victory if not for the fact that he spent most of his shield HP trying to kill the drones with 2 torpedo launchers. Stupidest duel ever, but Siren's victory was legit, and he deserves payment.

Actually, thats rather a load of bull you just spread. True, you can't enforce his own rules on him as it is not a formally sanction event (like the Championships, to name one time when EVE PVP is done by a set of rules). However, Siren CAN shame him publicly... which is exactly what he is doing here.
By the way Janus, before you cast aspersions on someones PVP experience, you really ought to find out who you are dissing. I think it was last week that Siren took out a Machariel in his Myrmidon solo and is quite adept with his ship.
So name and shame away Siren, at least you can derive satisfaction from that (and the fact that you beat him in front of witnesses). Perhaps, if you are really lucky, Janus will bless you with a demonstration of his PVP savvy in person.
Should be amusing.

Heh, I wasn't saying anything about siren's abilities, just that I think he's a little daft to this Dex would actually follow through. I called that the minute I saw Dex start adverting his little challenge.

I guess I was a bit naiive. I had been playing poker with Curzon for a while in the Axiom Empire poker channel, and I figured him for a good guy. I never anticipated that he would both try to ransom me, then guilt-trip me with tales of inexperience and overview bugs into allowing him to escape his 1.25 billion isk debt.
He claimed in chat afterwards, even after boogaboob watched his armor disappearing, that I was a goner, or would have been if his drones weren't bugged.

wow, that's sad to hear.
Very disappointing. If he casts out a challenge he should follow it, bottom line. He has apparently shown himself to be of the lowest quality possible, a person who doesn't even honor their own word. I mean christ, people like Lofty even honor their word and he's know as one of the worst pirates in EVE.
Dax should pay up otherwise he will eventually be known as someone who can't be trusted across the entire EVE universe. Hopefully he realizes his mistake and moves to fix it.

Tbh i've had the bugged overview recently where I can't launch drones but frankly thats nobodys fault but his own if he didn't prepair or undock for 3 months thats his business, not the competitors.
