For PvP ganks, the geddon is king thanks to it being so cheap (compared to the Abbadon) and the RoF bonus is sexy. It also has a nice drone bay, so you can fit heavies for even more DPS. Megapulses and NOS in the highs, plates and a couple heat sinks in the lows, and tackling gear + injector in the mids.
For mission running, the Abbadon with a couple of cap rechargers is awesome, since a high BS level is like a built in EANM II. It costs a pretty penny to get some CCC rigs, which means you can't add the nice 10% energy weapon damage rig like you can with the geddon.
The apoc sucks. -----------

Weapon damage rigs share stacking penalties with regular damage mods which makes them nowhere near as nice as they could have been.

Edited by: Ather Ialeas on 25/08/2007 06:43:12 Well, from the three Amarr bs I would choose the right one for the right job. For example:
Smartbombing bs - Armageddon, cheap and effective, can have lots of cap to permarun those things short range PvP - Megapulses with damage bonus and cap reduction? Yes please. Also the upcoming boost will help tremendously. long range BvB (B stands for blob) - Armageddon, once again cheap and effective, AWU lvl4/5 does wonders to fitting the biggest and baddest guns. Or PG rigs, since Armageddon with several PG rigs is still cheaper than Apocalypse/Abaddon Bumping - Armageddon has the least mass and 8 lows which means MEEP MEEP. tanking a titan and doing proper damage - still Armageddon, you get ~150k real hp out of it while still being an effective fit earning most from self destruction - face it, Armageddon is best even for this drone mayhem - Armageddon, 5 heavies are <3 plain tanking - Abaddon
Yep, Armageddon is in my opinion simply the best and most versatile Amarr bs. Apoc has nothing interesting, Abaddon is way too expensive to be interesting enough. Armageddon is extremely cheap and effective in just about any possible situation I personally ever need a bs for. [ insert fancy sig here ] |

if you wanna talk about the abaddons price being restrictive do a little research and find out that figuriing plat insurance an abaddon only costs about as much or a few mil more then the geddon to use.
dont get me wrong i love the geddon but abaddon is almost the same price and better in something worse in others
apoc is no go tell they redo the ship

Granted, I pay only 28M for my Geddons (as long as I don't lose them continously) so it affects a bit my decision making process. [ insert fancy sig here ] |

Geddon for Gank. Abaddon for tank and reasonable dmg. Apoc for selling to buy either of the above.

Well some guy up there said the Abaddon would be best for smartbombing, I thought the Apoc might be good at that with the cap size bonus, but yeah, it's not really got a role aside from nos/neut boat in a gang, which won't work anymore.
A new tool in the fight for balance? |

All tier 3 battleships can fit 4 mining laser upgrades. The rokh can do so with a standard named CPU booster though. I need mining laser upgrades level 4 and 2 dread guristas boosters to fit 4 on my hyperion but I can do it. The abaddon and maelstrom are in pretty much the same boat as my alt can almost do 4 with 3 standard 8.05% cpu boosters.
All things considered the only time the apocalypse is a superior mining ship to the abaddon is when you have someone with the cycle time reduction gang mod in your gang at which point the cap bonus would likely really help the apocalypse keep up with the faster cycle rate.

They also take 200/300 calibration which means even if you wanted to use them, you really can't.

Off-topic, apologies, but the Rokh can fit 8 miner II's, upgrades, and a passive tank capable of dealing with 0.0 NPC spawns.

And a cargo bay that needs constant empyting. As a hulk pilot, I worry about BS miners bleeding from their ears after an hour or so.

Apocalypse is not true to its name, it really blows as a tier 2 bs compared to the other races. Sad really. Geddon is my favorite with the ROF bonus, but if you plan on missioning I would go with the abaddon. BS lvl 5 really makes these two ships shine.
