The Revelations 2.2 patch has been deployed and Tranquility has returned to service. If you have an issue after the deployment, please check the Known Issues page to see if the Dev Team is already aware of it and submit a bug report. If you are unsure of what has been changed in this patch, please take a look at the Patch Notes page. You can also take a look at the announcement thread for this patch.[/green]
This should be all the patch notes we had left, except for the Exploit fixes, but you never know what else may come.

Got that during the auto update process. Ok... I reinstall EVE from the client 34791 and apply the downloaded patch evepatch34791-36191.exe
Same error.
Sweet :(
We tested that patch in house and it works fine. Try re-downloading the patch file itself.

Just want to second this question. I'm one of the editors/admins of the LP Store (see sig) and want to know whether we should go about bulk deleting these items from all the corps or should leave them in but temporarily disabled.
Edit: Ignore this now. Greyscale just answered as I was typing in my own question.
They'll be re-enabled in the store once they're working again.

ok i have 4 folders and 4 desktop short cuts for them. so where to i add that stuff.
Click 'properties' for each of the shortcuts, and behind the path to the eve.exe file ("C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE1\eve.exe" for example) add "/END /LUA:OFF" with quotation marks and all.

Have you by any chance deleted any files from the EVE/BIN folder?
If not, you can re-download the full client. Your cache should stay intact unless you're running the /END /LUA:OFF options.

At the moment I'd advise people to download a fresh full client if they're having issues with files in the /bin/ folder being corrupted. This appears to be limited to only Windows Vista users at the moment.
We're working on finding the cause for this though and hope to have something on it soon.

Thank you, downloading a fresh client now... Looking forward to resetting and sorting out all my Overview, Hud, Addressbook, Bookmarks
Your should not lose all your settings though, after Revelations 2 the cache folder was moved to \\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP
So when you do another fresh install the client will automatically use your old cache without creating a new one instead.

For those people having a problem with the client warning of modified, damaged or corrupt extra files in the /bin/ directory, the issue is that some old files have been cleaned out of our internal builds. However, anyone running the same client for a long time without a reinstall will still have those files available.
The list of the valid files for the /bin/ directory is below. Please remove any extra files you find in this directory. This should resolve your issues. If not, please file a bugreport including a crash dump, logserver file and dxdiag.
/bin/Microsoft.VC80.CRT/Microsoft.VC80.CRT.manifest /bin/Microsoft.VC80.CRT/msvcm80.dll /bin/Microsoft.VC80.CRT/msvcp80.dll /bin/Microsoft.VC80.CRT/msvcr80.dll /bin/win2k/dxmrtp.dll /bin/win2k/rtcdll.dll /bin/win2k/rtcres.dll /bin/winxp/dxmrtp.dll /bin/winxp/rtcdll.dll /bin/winxp/rtcres.dll /bin/alut.dll /bin/audio.dll /bin/blue.dll /bin/chartdir.dll /bin/db.dll /bin/dbghelp.dll /bin/destiny.dll /bin/ExeFile.exe /bin/msvcp71.dll /bin/msvcr71.dll /bin/msxml4.dll /bin/msxml4a.dll /bin/msxml4r.dll /bin/NetClient.dll /bin/NetUtil.dll /bin/ortp.dll /bin/pyexpat.pyd /bin/python25.dll /bin/RedistD3DXOnly.exe /bin/vivoxsdk.dll /bin/Vxc.dll /bin/Vxc.dll.2.config /bin/VxPortManager.dll /bin/VxPortManager.dll.2.config /bin/VxRTCCORE.dll /bin/VxRTCCORE.dll.2.config /bin/wrap_oal.dll /bin/_PyFreeTypeP.dll /bin/_socket.pyd /bin/_trinity.dll

Confirmed as well.
This is not a bug, it is part of the original design of the multispectral frequency probes. These probes are currently being re-designed to take into account the new scan category. until then you can use racial scan probes to differentiate between exploration sites.

Originally by: Graven Threndor I had an extra file called "trinity.dll" (not "_trinity.dll"). Deleted it, and now the game loads.
As I understand it the trinity.dll file was replaced with _trinity.dll in 4556, so if you happen to have both you should try to delete trinity.dll since it shouldn't be there anyway.
I don't think you guys will see many Dev posts tonight, it's almost midnight in Reykjavik. You guys will probably hate me for this, but best suggestion I have is, if nothing else has worked, do a new install from a freshly downloaded client. Hopefully we will be able to sort out these issues tomorrow though.
We will of course evaluate what went right and what went wrong with this patch and make sure we implement ways to not make the same mistakes again while keeping the things that were good.

Originally by: Sawada Hello,
im very angry about CCP. I feel cheated. I tested EVE about 3 days, encountered i cant handle an industrial while in trial period. So I signed up, just on Monday. Everything went fine until this patch came out. Im a Linux user! I bought cedega+EVE to have gaming pleasure. I melted about 40.00 EUR for nothing.
I tested arround with cedeaga and with wine. The entries in the prefs.ini do not work! Im very sorry, but if CCP is not going to act on this soon, then Ill close my account just after 1 day gaming pleasure.
Tanks to CCP! I hope you wont shrug your shoulders on this, I guess there are many linux gamers, which feel exactly the same like me on this.
I hope to hear about this soon.
While Linux is not currently an 'officially' supported Operating System we work with our partner to try to ensure that EVE works with Cedega. Unfortunately most of our efforts recently have been on testing the new officially supported client and other issues crept through.
Trangsgaming are working on a patch for the issue which should solve the problem. Alternately you can disable the sound and voice via the prefs.ini file and this works as well.
make sure the following lines are in your prefs.ini file
audio=0 audiodriver=0 voiceenabled=0
The last line should be in ALL Linux client pref files as EVE Voice is not currently supported under Linux.
I hope that this answers your questions.

For people who have CRC issues with their tut2.stuff file we will be hosting a copy of it which can be downloaded here. If you are experiencing the issue during the patch process, you can:- Delete the tut2.stuff file from the EVE client folder (by default it is C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\tut2.stuff).
- Download the zipped tut2.stuff file.
- Upzip it to the EVE client folder (by default it is C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\).
- Launch the client and auto-patch to TQ.
- Note that the fix above is not applicable if the client build number is 25245, instead you will have to follow the instructions below.
If you are experiencing the issue (tut2.stuff and common.ini) after the client has been patched, you have to:- Delete the tut2.stuff file and common.ini from the EVE client folder (by default it is C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\tut2.stuff).
- Download the zipped tut2.stuff file and common.ini.
- Upzip the two files to the EVE client folder (by default it is C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\).
- Launch the client and connect to TQ.

CORRECTION
While Linux is not currently an 'officially' supported Operating System we work with our partner to try to ensure that EVE works with Cedega. Unfortunately most of our efforts recently have been on testing the new officially supported client and other issues crept through.
Trangsgaming are working on a patch for the issue which should solve the problem. Wine users can do the following as a work around : you can disable the sound and voice via the prefs.ini file.
make sure the following lines are in your prefs.ini file
audio=0 audiodriver=0 voiceenabled=0
The last line should be in ALL Linux client pref files as EVE Voice is not currently supported under Linux.
I hope that this answers your questions.
Unfortunately this is NOT the only fatal bug that currently exists. There is a bug in the loading of the lib.ccp and stdlib.ccp libs in the lib directory that has been around a while.
If you do a ls -lU and stdlib.ccp comes BEFORE lib.ccp the client will stallout and silently crash on the splashscreen. The fix for this is to cp lib.ccp to lib2.ccp, lib3.ccp on and on until you get ONE of them to come before stdlib.ccp. I can only theorize that EVE is loading all the libs with a * instead of loading them in a designated order causing this problem OR that they are loaded at different async. and that on slow drives the dependacies get screwed up because one is not totally loaded in before the other references it.
There are multiple threads about this issue, and it has persisted for quite some time now.
Although I applaud CCP for working with cedega to wrap the game so that its playable in linux, I'd much rather see a native game.
The last numbers (from Microsoft) show that only 8% of windows users are currently using Vista and of that 8% some of them have the basic edition that does not not allow DX10. CCP is currently working hard to develop a DX10 client for less than 8% of the playing population. Based on the screaming and moaning on these forums I'd hazard to guess that the linux population for EvE (not in general but for EvE which seems to be higher for some reason) is above 5% and maybe close to 8%.
I'd like to see a poll of somesort to see just how many of us are using linux. (I know there are a ton of us.. jsut look at the cedega forums in the EvE section... and all those people are paying $5.50 a month to use cedega ontop of eve.,.. .that doesn't even include the larger subset of wine people!) Maybe if the percentage is high enough CCP might rethink being stuck in proprietary 3D engine :) (like WoW did).
Trinity 2 (as due to be released late this year) is DirectX 9!!! NOT 10!! This has been repeated a number of times. And this is also an effort to optimize and rework the graphics engine so it makes use of GPU's as currently with EVE your CPU does all the work. The new Graphics engine will improve performance by making better use of the graphics cards people have installed.
Our DirectX 10 Engine is not due till next year (soon tm).
We are also working to provide the wrapped client for the Linux and Mac users because they are an important part of the user base. As for the loading order issues we are continuing to look into it.

Originally by: Mar'Dur Taren I've just noticed a weird bug. Unfortunately its very early in the morning and I can't check through the forums to see if its been reported yet. I want to write down what I'm seeing.
I've been ratting for several hours against Serpentis. I killed a few rats in a system then warped to a gate and cloaked so I could chat to a friend. After 30 minutes I notice the aggression counter was still up. I stayed in place and watched it count down. Somewhere between 9 minutes 59 seconds and 9 minutes even it resets to 15 minutes. No way it will ever go to zero that way.
Has anyone else seen this?
I haven't seen anything about it, but you should submit a bug report regardless of someone else having reported it previously or not.

Anyway as i stated in another thread, my client keeps vanishing too. Everytime i get out of warp onto gate where the engagement is happenening.
On patchday I crashed like 10 times and Anton had to keep inviting me back to gang. And the day after the same thing happened. Client kept disappearing and everytime i log in i automaticly warp back to the gate and as i arive on the gate, hocus pocus, gone is eve. Goodthing i didnt loose anything.
Oh FYI im running on Vista
I confirmed just a few minutes ago that it isn't just at a gate... I just lost my client when trying to warp to an engagement happening in a belt in lowsec... no more client, crash dump in my cache.
I just petitioned it, but acknowledgement would be golden. I can't play my favorite game, and haven't been able to since Tuesday. This is sad.
We are looking into reports of this issue at the moment and need logs, crashdumps and dxdiags. Please file a bug report with the crash dump attached. If you could reproduce the issue with logserver running and attach a log file as well, that would be fantastic!

Originally by: Letheeth Kayl My cache has sprouted legs and wandered off. It's also developed a mind of it's own, and knows that I'm hunting it. Proof? Not only have I reinstalled Eve TWICE in an effort to locate it, but I've found and removed two "caches" already, but neither one was the one I'm looking for (and neither of them was from the reinstallations, that was done after these two caches were destoryed). . . . The cache is a terrorist organization, and it is spawning splinter cells to terrorize and further corrupt my computer. IT MUST BE STOPPED! Is there a file or something native to the cache folder I could use to track it down (and kill it)? Thank you. ~LK
Please read the following KB article for info about the location of the cache and settings folders: Linkage
In short - if you are running your client with the "/end /LUA:OFF" switch, the cache will be inside your eve installation. If not, it will be in your windows user profile.

Originally by: Bishman82 I've got a email back from my bugreport this morning regarding the Crash during warp under Vista and it says that they cant reproduce the bug, if i get any more problems send in a bug report.
So the 2.2 patch has effectively broken my game completely and there's nothing i can do about it apart from wait and see if it happens after the next patch.
Has anyone else got any better response regarding the CTD issue or is that the only response we are going to get?
Disabling audio should fix this for the time being if you are experiencing this crashing issue. We are working on a permanent fix for this.

On multispectral probes:
We have a candidate solution up and running now, but I can't give any firm estimates on when it will appear on TQ at this time. I know this is frustrating, but that's the state of things at the moment.
