I have a new version of RDB updated with the new patch data (Rorqual, Industrial Core, Compressed Ores, ...).
There's also a new help that you can browse in or out of game.
The price is still 15M (you need one license per computer). If you buy it, you won't have to pay for upgrades (I always have one right after each patch) until I had some major features to justify the jump to a new major version number.
For other information and download links, please go here
Registrations are done in eve from the ingame browser at http://www.evegames.hostingbig.com/eve/rdb/register_ingame.php (you need to allow the site to access trusted information).

The data is extracted from the cache files in cache/machonet and the blue files in cache/temp/mapbrowser. That's how I can always keep it up to date. It is not based on the official sql dumps.
Whenever the asset list and the starbase information is available through the eve api, I have plans to create an optional plugin so you can display those things on the map and the show info windows for solarsystems/stations.

The registration was not working in the last few days because my host decided to change the user running mod_python, and that was causing permission problems. This should be fixed now.
If you tried to register and didn't get your license sent to you, please register again.
Thank you.

Going to the following URL:

Does not work in game. I still get "You can only register ingame" message. Am I accessing that wrong?

Yes, the ingame page for registration is:
http://www.evegames.hostingbig.com/eve/rdb/register_ingame.php
If you go to http://www.evegames.hostingbig.com/eve/rdb/ ingame and click on Buy, it should open the right page.

I've been having issues with the registrations again. For some reason, every now and then, I lose permission to access my python shelves.
I've rewritten the registration code to use php and mysql now, so everything should be working again, and hopefully this time it will keep working.

I have updated RDB with all the new stuff from the trinity patch.
I have also added a way to configure the attribute tables (you can define configurations: you define which columns you want and in which order for each configuration, and then you can toggle between them from a drop down menu).
I think the registrations are working, but if you try to register and don't hear from me after a day or two, evemail me with your registration code and I'll send you your license.

Edited by: RDB on 06/12/2007 07:02:57 Oh, and if you already have RDB and want to upgrade your version, there's no patch this time, you have to use the full install. Reinstalling it will erase your license file, so you can either backup your license.txt or re-enter your license key after installing the new version. The reason why there is no patch is because I updated the icons (they are rendered differently now with the trinity engine). |

The new version with the updated data from today's patch is ready.
I have also added the Jump Freighters and the Black-Ops to the list of available ships in the jump range/route panel.

Can you choose a highsec start point for your jump planning yet?

Actually, only the destination field is limited to 0.4 and lower. The Starting point field has allowed high sec system since the beginning.

How are you extracting the information from the cache files?

With my own code. I am not using anything special, just reading the bytes.

But what is the actual information that you're getting from the cache files that's not in the sql dumps? The tmp/mapbrowser is just cached star system info, but I was wondering what information in kept in the machonet files.

The new version of RDB (1.24) updated with the trinity 1.1 data is now available. As usual, you have the choice between a patch (RDB 1.2x to 1.24) or a full download (you will have to re-enter your license if you choose this option).

This is not an automated process, I have to do it manually (I don't know of any way to automate sending evemails). I usually check for new registrations twice a day.
When I checked today I found out that the database containing the registration codes was corrupted. I restored it with yesterday's backup but I don't have your registration code. Could you resubmit it please ?
I apologize for that. http://www.evegames.hostingbig.com/eve/rdb Please visit your user settings to re-enable images.[/URL] |

Somebody pointed out that the webpage was down today. I have investigated the issue and it turns out php is not working. I have notified my host and it should be resolved shortly. I will post again when it is working. In the mean time, if you don't want to wait, you can send your registration codes directly to RDB ingame.
