In a fit of sheer boredom I wrote up a Visual Basic program to fit and calculate fuel requirements for POSes. As of this post its on v0.86 and allows you to fit any tower (up to Rev patch 2.2) and calculate fuel timeframes along with figure out how much fuel you have left (will read a eve pos low fuel evemail). Tower fittings can be saved and loaded so you can configure a tower and then load it at any time. Currently it supports one tower but I hope to expand that to multiple towers in the future. The program is available on our corps website:
http://www.cassandraslight.com/mypos.htm
Only requirements are the Microsoft Dot Net v2.0 Framework (available from Microsofts site) and the Windows Installer 3.1 or higher. If you have XP/Vista and do your windows updates you should already have both. This is a work in progress and although it seems pretty stable (some alliance members have been playing with it) there may still be minor bugs so if you have any questions or comments or problems they can be posted here or evemail to me in game.

Nice one but you are missing the advanced labs , and some things like the number of diffrent slots : Copy , ME & PE , resistances and dps woud be nice .

I'll get the advanced labs in with the next revision. As far as info theres no real need for it within a fitter...I could add it but thats a lot of extra bloat to a very small program.

The program is neat but it needs more devs

I agree actually.....could REALLY use a VB.Net 05 guy that does custom controls for a custom tabpage control. Then you could do multiple towers and save and load them. I even got all the underlying structure in place for it just no time/patience to do the custom control work.

Best POS fitter to date and I'm not sure why it isn't getting more attention since it's really nice.

I wanted simple, very simple so thats why I wrote this.
Only bug reported is the fuel "supply" section, when you chek off the Sov checkbox it ADD's 25% to fuel instead of subtract but does work as intended on the fuel requirements. Oh, and I need to fix a bug in the POS low fuel evemail reading I noticed...that and add in the advanced lab. All are easy fixes and will be done this week, look for a update soon.

Two things that would be nice though, a read-out that states how much M3 the fuel will take and a way to input price so it's easy to see the costs. Both things should be simple to implement.

The one thing that is really missing is all the factional batteries. I would really like to use this as a POS planner and that information would be needed.
Very nice work! (If I send some isk will you work on that?)

Doable but definitely not a priority. I'll look into it though.

Absolutely. I'm kinda whorish when it comes to programming. LOL :)
All known bugs fixed, the 25% sov "days remaining" is now rounded properly, the advanced labs are added in, and the POS low fuel reading now has error checking if the evemail is malformed or blank. Its listed as V0.88 and is available using the same link as in the first post. I suggest doing a Add/Remove programs and uninstalling the old version before installing the new. Any other comments/questions/bug reports/suggestions are welcome.

Edited by: Director Sann on 09/09/2007 08:02:15 This is certainly the best POS fitter that I have seen. Simple to use and thats how I like things, would be nice to see a pos fuel manager implemented aswell to monitor multiple POS 's although I understand that it wouldn't be simple to do. Oh Im on the first page on an epic thread
This is a must for anyone with a POS.

A simplistic price calculation has been added in. Storage calcs may be in the future but we'll see.

Recieved......Thanks!!! Help offset my T2 fitted Nighthawk, a Drake, and two Hawk's I lost this week. Man it was a bad PvP week...at least I got a couple kills in. Anyway all faction batteries have been added in and will be available with the next release.

Multiple POS's have always been my goal and its almost done:
http://www.cassandraslight.com/MyPOS/MyPOSScreenv0-96.jpg
You will have tabs for each POS and the Save button drops down to a "Save All Towers" option so you can save all the towers to one file. Got a little debugging to do but it should be released in a few days.

First, What a great Program. Second, This program could be the dogs *******s
Is there a Beta Test program? Is there a Road map of features to be implemented.
Also some input. Some ppl like me have a computer on 24/7, but not in game 23/7. Possible you could add a low fuel RL mail warning û it will probably be along time to add in, as youÆll have to enter loads of different fuel levels for each tower,

Version 1.00 is done! HURRAY!
http://www.cassandraslight.com/mypos.htm
All faction structures should now be included along with multiple tower configs. Save, load, delete towers individually or as a group. Get approx isk prices for the fuel required. Super funness!
Thanks for all the compliments. There really isn't a beta program, the changes are so small and I test it pretty well on my own. No roadmap either....my end goal was a multiple tower POS fitter with fuel calculations and with this release I did that. I may add stuff in the future or clean it up a little but this is what I set out to accomplish. If I get a huge number of people wanting certain features I may add it but we'll see.

Really liking this so far. Only one thing I can think of that I might like to see added that may/may not be useful to anyone, and that would be: give me the ability to load/save module lists, where I can just load up that group of modules on any tower and see what the differences are really quick, etc.

Understandable but I program for good and not evil. :) Either way here is the full source code, Visual Basic 2005 / Dot Net v2.0 Framework with a slight stipulation on its use to protect myself:
I am hereby releasing this source code under the GPL and have included the GPL document as part of the zip file. This software is free and any future revision from this point on must also be made without charge within the restrictions of the GPL. If you do not agree and accept the terms of the GPL you are not allowed to modify or distribute this program, in part or whole.
www.cassandraslight.com/MyPOS/MyPOSCodeVersion1-00.zip
Since I am releasing the source code from this point on ANYONE downloading this software needs to make sure they ONLY download it from my corps website as someone with some programming skills could download the code, modify it and add in a key logger, and reupload it to a site and say its the same thing. Please make sure if you use this program you only download it from the Cassnadra's Light Website and no other source.
-Jonas
P.s. All Programmers: Feel free to criticize / praise my 1337 programming skilz. If you make a positive modification please consider sending it to me for inclusion into future revisions. Evemail me in game preferably to keep code related things out of this forum.

Why not to include a Magnet link to download the file? This would let people download the file using a P2P program (Shareaza, eMule or other) and be sure it is unmodified. You can add your server like a source inside the same Magnet link.

I have no idea what you just said so I'll respond with if you want it get it from our website and if you want to check the code and compile it yourself do that.

Not sure why it is I am just now noticing it, but the calcs this is giving me for LO & HW are off by quite a bit. :( Everything else seems to be dead-on, though.
Another bug (or 2) I've seen is when you paste in an evemail in for comparison, first off it wants a carriage return following the last line (so you can't just copy/paste, you copy/paste/return) of text. After that, if you click compare evemail again and paste the same mail, your numbers will kind of go down.. this can be repeated many times, so I really have no idea if this is intended or not.

LO and HW arn't off for me. They should be based on actual PG and CPU usage, the formula was (usage / total available) * fuel per hour. So say a large Amarr tower with nothing fit should be 0 LO, 0 HW, fully fit 150 LO and 150 HW, and in between....well its in between. Fit a large tower with 24 corp hangers and you should have 98 LO (CPU of 3600 / 5500 * 150 per hour at max = 98.18).
As for the compare evemail I should probably lock out the button after you do it once and unlock it (enable it) once you do a calculate again so you can't just keep comparing and have it subtract your supply from the required amount shown as your doing. Although the idea originally was you could paste the low fuel evemail, hit compare, then do it again except put in the numbers for the fuel you have in storage or at a station or whatever and compare a second time so you know what you really need. But I would have to make that much clearer and/or change the "read low evemail" into a "enter supplies" button and you could have the choice of entering the stuff in or reading the evemail.
