I'm curious if there is anyone out there that would like to do some exploration with an escort. Not sure if this is the right place to bring it up or anything, but here it is.
I'm very curious about these exploration sites, and I would love to try them out, but I don't have the skills to probe them myself. If someone is out there that would like to join up with me and some of my corp mates. We can provide fire power to muscle our ways to whatever goodies you can unlock. Split profits. You don't need probes anymore. You can use your on board scanner though it only has a 5au range.

Come on. Don't post when you don't know what you're talking about.

hey hey
Id strongly suggest you get someone with a multispec probe and go dropping in systems to see if you get something first. Then maybe invite a prober along to help you lock down the scan signature(the hard part)
otherwise it wil seem like your bringing along a victim :/

Internal scanner can only find Unknowns if I'm not mistaken. The other COSMOS signatures are unscannable with the onboard scanner.

internal scanner (onboard scanner) Can only scan for Cosmic Anomoly. It was changed this recent patch because it was interfeering with the Unknown Signatures that are Escallation Sites

The idea is interesting (it is what I am doing with my corp and alliance), but has some drawback.
Probing for a signature is a long activity and if done well there isn't the need for an escort (you do it in a Cov Ops, with a cloak).
I have spent from 15 minutes to 7 hours to pinpoint a location so getting someone to wait in space near you for an unknow stretch of time and fitting a cloak so you don't make an easy target don't seem the right solution.
It is after pinpointing a location and doing a first survey to see what kind of location is that the need for support would arise. A good number of sites can be done by a well fitted cruiser or similar ship, and some of them only accept specific ship tipes but the better require serious firepower.
So more than seeing if someone need a bodyguard you would seek for a good prober in search of a fast reaction team ready to scramble to the right system and exploration site in support to the prober.

My apologies. My original intent was to try to offer "muscle" support from my corp to a prober who would be into scanning our area. If a location is found, a quick call to us, and we would show up with whatever it would take to get to the goodies.
We realize there is a huge time sink into the skills required, and would try to make the split as fair as possible for both sides.
Again, this is mainly meant for those able to probe, yet lacking the fire power to clear the areas. We could also make an agreement to pay for the discovery of mining sites. I'm not that familiar with what is easy to track down and what isn't, I just think it would suck to pinpoint something and not be able to get to the loot.
We operate in Eszur, a quiet area between Amamake and Hek. Probes could be provided on request, that would be negotiated in game.
Sorry to the one person who responded in game, we were unable to gather the firepower to make the 18+ jumps one way to help you out. (dang sleep!)

And yet it didnt do a thing to help exploration because multispec probes when show unknown show both plexes and anomalies...
Atm scanning for plexes/expeditions is same crap as it was before patch - useless unless you are very lucky.

Damn, I was hoping they didnt **** it up again :(
Multispecs are supposed to show every signature though. I havent scanned since patch so i havent managed to check the influence of the changes. it was my assumption that the multispecs will still show every signature then its down to choice to scan for whichever you choose.
This wouldnt cause any problems with the new anomoly signatures. If however, your saying that the multispec still causes a bug whereby its incorrectly recognises the new anomoly signature as an unknown then maybe it was the probes that were up **** creek all along :/

I haven't used a multispec probe since the patch. If anomalies are detected as unknowns by the multispec you can still work around that to at least figure out if there are any "real" unknowns in the system by jumping around the system and scanning with your directional scanner for anomalies.
It's trivial to figure out how many anomalies are in the system using the directional scanner then if the multispec returns more unknowns than you found anomalies with the directional scanner you know there is a "real" unknown site to probe for in the system. At least you know your not wasting your time probing then.
To see anomalies in your directional scanner either turn "use overview settings" off or add "cosmic anomalies" to your overview (they are listed under the celestial category).

Actually the uknown thing aint to much of an issue,
If you got an uknown in the system and you place ya quest probes you will geta 0m accuracy hit on encounter sites. SO you first scan will always i beilieve bring up the anomolys as 0m accuracy which to my mind is near impossible to do with exploration sites and quest probes. takes one scna to eliminate the encounter sites.

Actually you won't get quest hits on encounter sites if you're just scanning for cosmic signatures, you will however get them if you scan for cosmic anomalies as well. The issue is that MULTISPECTRAL probes return "Unknown" hits for both encounters and true exploration sites, with no way of differentiation save going through the system looking for encounters and clearing them out before running another multispec.

And tell he HOW does this help me exactly when im searching for REAL unknown sites? 1. now you can select only anomalies or signatures while scanning (only multispec probes scan all groups at once instead of selected) so i can scan only for plexes 2. but SO WHAT? when i get unknown hit and scan for plexes i still dunno if the "unknown" was plex or anomaly 3. ofc. i can scan (directional) for anomalies and if i dont get any, im 100% sure the unknown hit was a plex, but this doesnt work wqhen you get 1 anomaly. And anomaly numbers in losec/0.0 got increased so situation is even worse than pre-patch.

Wrong, you can scan both scan groups at once. Best idea at the moment is to kill all encounters, then drop the multispec.

Silly thing is that encounters DO appear more than 5 au from warpable objects. Which means you need ordinary probes as well with you but it's annoyance.
About fast plex search: clear encounters, drop multispec, then move on or look for unknown/racial(if you feel like looking for it) -------- I tanked D2 capital fleet and all I got was truncated Erebus mail.
