I will have to ask where he was. It was not specified by my corp mate if it was in 1.0 or elsewhere. Although, Myself, and other corp mates alike, flipped for quite sometime in Jouvalen before moving to Amarr space and never once had been contacted by a GM. I understand if they do it just in newbie systems, since too many new characters get scarred away. Is this a new thing?
Your CORP mates must be a bunch of arse hats for can flipping noobs in Newbie systems... Tell thier panzy asses to can flip me so they can get a pounding... |

Cowards are still doing that, also war deccing high sec mining corps and then filling my tear bucket when they notice the corps can use the dec shield alliance and screw them over .
I just love all those "pro" and "hardcore" pvpers who won't even undock when you've got similar numbers.
Lets drink to noobs thinking they mastered eve pvp! "Have you had your morning coffee?" -> the Coffee Lovers Brewing Club is recruiting! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=363976#post363976 |

This is CLASSIC anti-social personality disorder.
As to the first claim: It is YOUR fault this happens. This is the SOLE reason you do it, on the hope that someone will not realize what it is they are doing, and will click it without realizing the implications, on the desire just to get THEIR stuff back.
As to the second claim: How is it that they are responsible for YOUR conscious and independent actions? Just because someone is now a legal target does not mean that you MUST shoot them. Your ship does not auto lock them and your weapons do not automatically begin firing.
The symptoms of this disorder include:
Lack of concern regarding societyGÇÖs rules and expectations Repeated violations of the rights of others Tendencies toward physical aggression and extreme irritability Lack of remorse, as indicated by being indifferent to or rationalizing having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another

It actually has nothing to do with either. There's only 4 starting systems. You can flip cans in 1.0's all you like, as long as it's not a starter system.

Good to know as I had no idea that you couldn't do this. Although with few days old characters there's no point in it really. I'm after worthwhile kill mails and loot. Took out a Caldari Navy Raven yesterday - that was fun. But this was via salvaging and stealing loot in a mission as opposed to strictly can flipping. Getting them enraged so that they shoot you.
Yes I felt slightly bad, nonetheless I've had so many losses over the years at the hands of others - I don't have much pity for noobery anymore. Conflict and cruelty is inherent in this game. I view it as a teaching experience, albeit a rather bitter one for the loser - but one they won't forget. I've learned the Tao of EVE which in a sense is the Art of War. If you are fighting a fair fight then you've messed up. There's no honor in EVE, there's just victory or loss. Deception and speed are crucial in battle. When you are stronger, appear weaker. Take full advantage of their mistakes. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence |

OP deserves to get banned for flipping noobs, but shooting internet spaceships in a game about shooting internet spaceships is hardly indicative of being anti-social. If anything, given the framework of the game, it's quite social indeed. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/39006524/DumbHiseccers.jpg |

If you search for grief play in the EULA, can baiting in starter systems is pretty much the only example given. ;)
From http://support.eveonline.com/Pages/KB/Article.aspx?id=336
An example of grief play would be the so called "Can baiting" in starter systems. An experienced player drops a cargo container with some items in front of a station in a starter system and waits for a new player to take from it. The new player is flagged and promptly attacked and killed by the owner of the container. Doing the same in starter tutorial complexes is also considered grief play and will not be tolerated. |

Your cookie-cutter hyperbolic "lowsec is all gatecamps! null is all blobs!" tells anyone who has actually left highsec that you haven't.
Congratulations.
Also - Jouv is a starter system. - "Do not touch anything unnecessarily. Beware of pretty girls in dance halls and parks who may be spies, as well as bicycles, revolvers, uniforms, arms, dead horses, and men lying on roads -- they are not there accidentally." -Soviet infantry manual, issued in the 1930's |

I disagree that overgeneralizing the plot of an online game suddenly absolves one of all anti-social conduct. To some people this game is indeed just an organized display of lights with no significance. But to others it is a hobby and those people enjoy putting in endless effort in order to build something worthwhile. Just because the game has some mechanics that lack polish or are easily exploitable does not suddenly make it "ok" or ethically appropriate to do it.
As for the behavior being indicative of being anti-social, I think it absolutely is. Even though the dude may be a total carebear in real life, that does not mean that the way he plays his character here is not anti-social. And if you have noticed lately, all aspects of the internet seem to be adept at bringing out the inner Sociopath in many people, including internet spaceships. |
