they work fine. Great actually.
Precision for those buggery ceptors and fury for the battleships and you should have a nice day. Just passive tank and you shouldnt have to worry about your cap penalty with the fury missiles. . |

You have to get much closer. Your missiles are not currently reaching there intended target.

T2 heavies only have about half the range of T1 heavies, they probably aren`t reaching your targets

Weird...mebbe try docking, logging out, then back in, might be something to do with skills not fully updating to the ship and weapons and such. Also try taking your tech II launchers off your ship, repackaging them, then reattaching them.

Yeah,it seems the range is the problem, they are effective but only under 15km....

There's a bug I've seen where missiles carry on and hit their targets beyond travel range, doing no damage, but still showing the effect as if they were hit.
I've tried this taking on guristas NPC cruisers at 100km,, I get smashed up by heavy missile explosions but take no damage.
So yeah, you're probably still out of range.

First and foremost, don't waste your time with T2 missiles in T2 launchers for PvE. They're way too expensive and have too many drawbacks to be practical in general. Just load T1 ammo as usual (yes, you can load T1 ammo in T2 weapons).
Second, the effective range you will deal damage is different for T1 and T2 ammo. T1 heavies have a base max range of 37.5 km (10 seconds at 3,750 m/sec), upgradeable via skills to a bit over 84 km (15 sec at 5,625 m/sec).
T2 high-damage heavies only get 18 km (6 seconds at 3,000 m/sec) with no skills, and 40.5 km with both L5 skills. T2 precision heavies get a little bit over 17 km (5.25 seconds at 3,250 m/sec) with no skills, or barely over 38 km at max skills. Most probably, your targets are just outside the max range of your missiles, you SEE them hit, but they actually don't (they self-destruct, vanish, whatever).

I personally find tech 2 missles a waste of time sure they do more damage but the hit on the capacitor with damage missles is to much. I passive tanked my drake was great tank but even then i would find that my cap would slowly drain by just running 2 invulni fields. Only took one nos ship at the time to give me a lot of trouble.

2 Invulnerability Fields? Doesn't that make it an active tank... ? -

I use Caldari Navy eavy missiles and they have the same range as T1 and do 20% more damage. A bit more expensive but worth it. -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

When running level 4 missions, there are situations where furies can be handy...you can load them up and use them against short-range battleships in situations where you want to avoid drone aggro, then switch back to standard heavies before your cap gets too low.
But 95% of the time, standards in your Tech II launchers work just fine.

No. Active tanking means active boosting. Without active hardeners most passive shield tanks really suck for pvp.

He meant active recharge vs. passive recharge tank... BC 4 or 5 in a drake and passive hardeners/extenders... works wonderfully, if you can stand caldari ships ____________________ Hi. I'm not an alt :) |
