lol Someone said crow, never seen a more over-rated ship ever.
Tons of ships become best in the right situation. At the end of the day the best PvP ship is the one you have the most SP focused in.

Yeah, there is no "Best" ship in eve. They all have their ups and downs and they all have their individual roles. I could argue that the caldari scorpion is the best battleship in the game, it can disable almost any other ship, so in 1v1 combat, a scorpion is difficult to kill. As soon as it goes up against 4 or 5 bigger ships its going to die. As a caldari pilot, i take offence to your comment saying that our ships are absolutely useless for any kind of pvp. That is incorrect, whilst it is difficult for a caldari ship to effectively tackle a ship it can be done, I solo pvp in caldari ships so it can be done. I actively roam in small gangs and in fleets without any problems. Caldari ships get bonuses to missiles which are quite possibly the best anti support weapon. But if you want quick easy solo pvp, train minmatar or gallente.

I agree with everyone above.
In addition, Caldari are not "absolutely useless for any kind of PvP":
For example, the Raven is very good at PvP as long as you have tacklers to hold the enemy in place. The Scorpion is a fantastic electronic warfare battleship - so much so that it is the first target in a fleet battle!
However, I fly Minmatar because I prefer fast ships. Out of these ships, you can fly ships among the best in their class by skilling up in this order:
Rifter ==> (Cheetah/Jaguar optional) ==> Stabber ==> Hurricane ==> Huginn/Vagabond ==> Sleipnir
Although Minmatar do not excel for ships above battleship size, it would be logical to assume that when the Black Ops Battleships come out this November, the Minmatar version should be the best because it suits the Minmatar style.

There is no "best ship", only a best ship for the moment. Enemy hanging around 20km scrambling you and staying out of range? That blaster boat you're in won't do so well. Enemy up close in your face with blasters? That artillery ship you are flying is dead.
Can't outrun that interceptor? His gang catches you. You catch an enemy ship in your ceptor but don't have the firepower to kill it? Too bad.
EvE is all about having the right tool for the job. Most cruisers/bc/bs are capable PvP ships solo. Yes even Caldari if used right (don't shield tank, armor tank, EW in the mids, missle death boat). They can't shoot what they can't target.
SO if this is a serious post, play the game, learn what you like and how you want to play, and train to do that. You want to go fast? Pick a speedy ship with low mass and go zoom. Want to absorb and deal damage? Pick ships for it and fit correctly. Want to play the EW game? Yep, there are ships for that too. Same with Drones.
Most of all, pick something you have fun flying, and that keeps challenging you. Otherwise you just get bored.

It's hard to fit a tank on which the Golden RatioÖ applies though.
