* Never fly something (or with something in the cargo) you can't afford to lose. Yes, not even in highsec. * Never grant "take" rights to stuff you can't afford to lose either. No exceptions. * Just because you CAN fly something doesn't mean you SHOULD. * If you lose stuff, it's ALWAYS YOUR FAULT. Really, only yours.
* If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Paranoia pays off here. Double-check everything. * More expensive stuff is not always better stuff. * Slightly better stuff usually costs many times more as slightly worse stuff. * T2 is usually cheaper and better as best named, but harder to fit. Sometimes it's not better. Other times it's not cheaper. And occasionally, neither.
* Griefing, scamming and unethical behaviour is not only allowed, it is encouraged and rewarded by the game mechanics. * Harrasment or real-life threats however aren't, and you can get a shiny ban for them. Learn the difference.
* ALWAYS check your clone before you undock for PvP. * ALWAYS check your ship insurance before you undock for PvP. If it's a T2 ship however... neah, don't bother. * There are no "solopwnmobiles" in EVE. Everything you can fly blows up if it's shot hard enough. * All other things being equal (experience, skills), superior numbers more often win a fight rather than superior ship value. However, things are hardly ever equal.
* There is no such thing as "a fair fight" or "an unfair fight". There's only "a fight". Circumstances are irrelevant. * Somebody, somewhere has better skills as you have, more experience as you have, is smarter than you, has more friends as you do and can stay online longer. Just pray he's not after you. * With enough skills and experience, ship size really doesn't matter all that much. * If you PvP long enough, you WILL lose your ship. It's only a matter of where and when.
* If you logoff in space without a PvP timer, you're safe after 2 minutes... and until you log back in. * The only way to be 100% safe from agression inside the game is to be docked in a station. * Yes, you are not safe in 1.0 security space. Get used to the idea.

That's only 100% safe if you have a covops cloak and never warped to it (the SS) uncloaked. In most other cases, there's a very, very slim but stil non-zero chance they'd get you nevertheless.

Well, I can bet you can easily afford to lose it now And even before, you were aware of the fact you might lose it, and had a backup plan in case that happened.

The way large scale fleet battles are atm, this is not always true (thinking of lag here). And dont say "You chose to undock" cause that would be silly

Where's the hate?
Where's the cycnicism?
These rules are just too neutral and balanced to be allowed on the forums.
Immediately add some crap!
"Never engage the enemy until you have a perceived 400% advantage over them." should do the trick.

Here's another twist on the "no fair fights" rule: There are only 3 kinds of fights. Those you win, those you lose, and those you escape from.
