To sum up so far, favourites in the contest to find the worst ship in Eve are:
Procuror - truly awful miner for the skills needed
Iteron 1 - worst hauler and 2hrs from something much
better.
Bellicose -worst ewar cruiser due to lousy TP bonus
Apoc - worst BS (I disagree with this one personally
but enough poeple seem to hate it.)
Auguror - a cap recharge ship but with lousy stats for
the job
crucifier - worst ewar frigate due to TDs and laser
cap bonus

Some of the ships you're knocking can be pretty useful... Augoror can have an insane amount of hp if setup right. The bellicose is bloody fast, try a nano-bellicose... and the ares is an excellent tackler.

For me the worst ship in eve isnt the weakest but one that is outclassed completly by another in the same price range. What augoror fitting are you using, I cant put a 1600mm and med transfers. A stabber outperforms vastly the nano-bellicose. The ares with 2 meds isnt an excellent tackler, it does get the job done if anything.

Ares are great. Cheap inti that can tackle or *intercept*. I put t1 fittings and some cheap named stuff on it and can do over 5k/sec for about 6 mil. Yeah, it can't damage deal like a ranis, but its about 1/3 the cost. I buy them 3-4 at a time.

Ferox. Not because it's a really bad ship "it's okish", but because it's completely and totally outclassed by the drake in nearly every way.

Except price. But seriously, the thing needs a re-do into a good rail boat, just like a few other caldari ships.
Raptor makes a good cheap tackler, buy and fit 2 for less than 15m.

In the days before warp to zero the Augoror was a nice little cargo cruiser. It had enough grid for a MWD, and the lowslots for a very nice tank by teir 1 tech 1 cruiser standards. It was kind of a poor man's blockade runner. Once warp to zero came in that sprint to the gate became much less important.
Its still usefull as a throw away logistics ships. |

you can't knock a ship that has a niche, the ferox is a rail boat, the drake missiles you can't compare. Same goes for the lvl 1 cruisers they all have a support role niche.
I think the worst BC is the prophecy by a long way. There really is very little it will do better than a harbinger, the resistance bonus is offset by the harbingers higher HP imo. All the other tier 1 BC's are quite different to their tier 2's.

The Ferox is outclassed by the Brutix as well. Same price, same purpose (hybrid turret boat), vastly different performance. Heck, the Brutix with guns alone outdamages a 5 rail + 2 missile + drones Ferox noticeably, while having a compareable tank. And then you add 50m3 drone space.
And no, sniping is not a niche for the Ferox, because to snipe you actually have to deal more than a weak cough worth in damage at a reasonably long range, which the Ferox cannot. Well, I guess even a weak cough can hurt something if it sits there unmoving for a few minutes... 
Other outclassed ships... Procurer, definitely - owned by both the Osprey and the Scythe for less ISK.
The Crane, while a quite capable blockade runner, is so fitting challenged that you fit a MWD II and then have to leave all other slots empty due to both CPU and grid shortage - with all skills maximized. Other blockade runners offer you more for the same cash.
I haven't ever flown an Apocalypse, but I hear from everyone and their granny that it sucks... and to be honest, I haven't seen anyone fly one in ages. And I'd rather see a Megathron supporting me in any possible situation than an Apoc.
Though it does the job of a cloaking probe scout just as well as the others, the Falcon ought to be the worst Recon in the game due to the fact that it has two unbonused weapons at best, no drones, and only three instead of the standard four ship bonuses. EVE-TV in fact attributed it less combat ability than an Ibis 
I think that while there are differences in performance, no ships really outperform some others in their class badly, except those above. Even the Moa can be set up okay-ish, if you throw enough skills at it, and don't try to use it for sniping. The difference in roughly same-priced haulers is not that big. Most frigates perform very similar to each other. And so on.

In my neck of the woods (rens minmatar space) there are lots of apocs. I dont get that being with worst BS
I will definately agree with the bellicose! No damage, no nothing....and butt ugly to boot!

HEY, I like big bu.. ehr right...
anyway bellicose is only ugly if you look at it from the side. look at it from the front(comming straight at you, BANZAI!) and it looks pretty fearsome.
I agree with procurer being worst ship though. only thing slower at mining then this ship are mining frigates, and those dont have a lvl 5 skill as prereq ;)

meh, id still say procurer is worse. Flying something better for mining(cruisers and battle cruisers) is faster to train for then this ship! only reason people have skills to fly this ship is because of the real barges(procurer is not a mining barge. its scrap metal that just doesnt know it yet)

Probably one of the pirate faction cruisers, tbh. It's all well and good to have all those nifty bonuses, but it doesn't amount to much if you don't have the fittings to actually fit the ship.
Failing that, maybe some of the lower tier frigates. The tier system is kindof useless, really. Especially when 1 day old noobs start the game with frig 4....

Maelstrom has an absolutely monstrous tank. Not counting capitals, it can tank more DPS than any other ship in the game. I can't remember which can deal more DPS with BS5 - the Mael or the Temp - but it's quite close. I prefer the Maelstrom really. If you're in a battleship, you shouldn't rely on speed (post nanophoon era  ).
Also, the Fleet Tempest is utter rubbish for the price of a faction battleship.

depends if tempest launchers count. pest has a 25% damage bonus with lvl5, so 7.5 effective turrets agaisnt maelstrom 8(wich however can fit full rack of t2 guns and tank AND 3 gyros with just 1 fitting mod)
and pest will have to sacrifice its armor tank if it want to fit 3 gyros and probably needs fitting mods for full rack of t2 guns and launhers(wich will give delayed damage)
pest *can* deal more dps, but at the cost of survivability wich the maelstrom doesnt have to pay

I think you missed the "outperform others in their class badly" part.
For instance, the Heretic is pretty good now.
Also, I'd rather have a Claymore / Sleip / Astarte in my gang than an Eos. The Eos is very, very good, but overrated. It's not *that* imba. Also, the new Damnation is seeexy.

I'd add the Iteron Mark IV here. There is almost no reason to opt for it over an Iteron Mark III. It has barely more cargo and is whopping 5 m/s faster than a Mark III. In almost all other respects it is worse. Less hitpoints. Less grid.
Frankly the whole Iteron line stinks except for the Mark V of course which is best. Mark III is passable. Mark I, II and IV really have no purpose in life.

Not a truly awful ship as such. Just no particular use for it. An Arma or Abaddon will serve you better in any role you can think of and of course every other battleship in the game is preferrable over an Apoc.
Actually an Apoc might make the best all smartbomb ship there is but that is a rather narrow niche with not too many uses beyond some comedic value.
