The Revelations 2.2.1 patch has been deployed and Tranquility has returned to service. If you have an issue after the deployment, please check the Known Issues page to see if the Dev Team is already aware of it and submit a bug report. If you are unsure of what has been changed in this patch, please take a look at the Patch Notes page. You can also take a look at the announcement thread for this patch.
The Patch notes have also been updated with Exploit Fixes!

It seems my my client doesn't want me to download the patch, and http://www.eve-online.com/patches/ seems to be down

http://www.eve-online.com/patches/patches.asp looks up, are you sure you can't reach it? Can you reach other parts of the website (www not myeve)?

I'm getting a "Proxy not connected to sol servers" message when I try to connect... 
edit: just to add; I was just booted, then when I tried to reconnect, I kept getting this error... |

Also having the same Proxy error. Was in the game, but everything had stopped responding altogether. I couldn't pull any information up. That's when I quit out thinking it was my connection and rebooted. Now I can't get in at all. :(

Same here.
Instead of us all posting the same error, how's about we all just wait a little while till the Tech guys fix things.
Everyone keep trying, and when someone gets through, post notice here.

same error, was logged in but setting a destination of flying back to the station was not possible.
getting a lot of strange errors since this last patch.
Got some 21474357 jumps to go........eve universe is big.... but this big?

well if CCP hasn't replyed yet then they are probably as surprised as we are. they will answer when they got information ;).
EDIT: got passed the proxy thingy now but now i get a: "Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong."

Or how about some information be posted in the "information portal"?
Between yesterday, last night and today there's been nothing but sub-standard performance and crashes with little to no explanation.
I can be patient, as I understand that things happen.
But certainly they could provide some explanation as to what happened yesterday? and what they have done thus far to try and fix it?
They had time to post this on Player News:

The same with my connection. I can¦t get connection from server. But everytime i try there are different messages.
Security Message timeout / No proxy / state unknown / no internet connection wrong port number

Got stuck in a Pator stargate (20:40 CET). Couldn't move. no override. then the server died.

thats why after a patch i never do anything "dangerous" i dont even run a mission cause of risk of it going down for a while and me getting pounded, i just go to my empire system and mine ice for my cap ships for a couple hours and all the reboots and such r finished
