That's really a biased opinion of eve-radio...
If you are an eve related site, and you have google ads on it, it will link to isk sellers, and there's nothing you can do about it other than to get rid of the ad revenue (which they need to keep for the massive server bandwidth they pay for).

I wonder when the first real expensive law suit will hit google. All these advertisments are illegal. It would be the same as if real life killers would offer their 'services' or drug dealers their drugs. Google cannot hide behind that 'generated automatically' crap If I would be a lawyer in the states I would work out such a a lawsuit and inflate it so that it becomes worth billions, shouldn't be too difficult!

No it's eve radio that lets google advertise isk sellers on their site, don't pass the buck. I do indeed intend to continue to boycott it until they are removed.

Don't forget all Google subsidiaries. YouTube, gmail, etc. Hell, while you're at it, why don't you stop buying goods from any countries that harbor Google or Google employees.
It's not the sellers fault, it's the mindless proxy, right? ---------------

Oh please!
Revenue versus moral descency and public image?
Eve-radio takes donations from its listeners and always has done - I would think thats their main revenue stream, they dont actually "need" to use google ads but do so out of pure greed imho.
EVE is plagued by isk selling and the damage it does to the ingame economy - the very game that gives E-R its existance. Remove the ads and make a moral statement for the game that gives you your exsistance.
Poor excuses about "revenue" is just plain naive in my opinion.

If you ever listened to Eve-Radio or visited their site, you would know that the listener base doesn't usually come anywhere close to the server costs in terms of donations. ---------------

I have been both a listener and a site visitor on many occasions. There are also a number of other stations that serve MMO communities that have no adverts for activities outlawed by the game makers.
If E-R are a profit making organisiation then raising revenue is very important, if they are non-profit making (which I believe Eve Radio are) then they should be more morally responsible.

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I may be) but isn't Eve-Radio the biggest station, and therefore has the biggest costs?
And I'm still missing where this whole thing is E-R's fault. Instead of crucifying a great community service, why not go after the search engine who advertises the illegal activity? ---------------

basically what happend was there was a compatition to see who can steal the most ore from a can that was being filled by myself and Curzon Dax. and the trick was that curzon was making it more challanging for the noobships. and basically we think the amount of n00b wrecks desync'd the node and crashed the server.

I know very few MMO fanbase radio stations that operate with the complete lisencing and serve a listener base known to pierce 500 at a time some nights (usually around 350 at a time).
Even with donations, google, etc the management still forks out.
As for this, well played funky, even better played curzon XD ______________________________ A Request About Lag Discussion -- Yet another "Edit my sig devs!" request \o/ |

The EVE-Radio bashing over something even the E-R management hate (and tried to fix but failed, go ahead and ask them) is just sickening to be honest.
If you guys actually spent time to learn why E-R cant remove isk-seller google ads, you'd understand the position of E-R.
Who the heck am I kidding, go ahead and boycott it you closed-minded bigots. -

If google ads are displaying Eve Isk selling sites it IS possible to remove them. I used to have google ads on my website, they give you a preview tool to be allowed to click them and not violate there rules, to be able to get the web adress. (because clicking your own links other wise will get you banned from the program) You then need to add these to the list of blocked websites allowed to advertise on your site.
This however is NOT full proof. And theres hundreds of sites and domains that are used to bypass this and it is really an uphill battle. So before you go boycotting ect, know the facts, because theres no easy answer besides removing ads altogether. Unless you all want to pick up the hosting bill, deal with it.
