Well its about time we throw them out here. After cleaning up the set, catching up on lots and lots of missed sleep (that was mainly me I forgot to unchain Loxy from the studio toilet) we now are tinkering away with ideas for the next tourney. Feel free to throw at us your production ideas...

Get the expert/commentator/host applications out earlier and announcing the dates sooner

i think to help with filling time you should replay the ship profiles during the tourney as well as any alliance profiles that are done based on those participating.

My kidney stones started to hurt from all the waiting before matches, it is a lot of undue stress to make the pilots wait while Spiral is like 'oh look, I have a few more questions here to answer! why is the eris ship pink?!'
No wonder some people lost their cool and moved.

1) Rules decided by player panel.
2) Prizes are more to that of previous tournaments past.
3) Less Alcohal more ECM bursting.

Interviews with team captains and/or team members after/before fights. (finals would need more time between fights)
Have a selected 3/5/7 man jury to deal with the *** stuff instead of a one GM¦s decision.

Aggreed. We got moved like 15-25 mins before fights, there was almost no time for any changes and **** in the last matches.

Agreed on all that, but HEAVILY agreed on number one. We need players in a panel deciding these rules, not the gm's.

good ideas.
booze once finals over. then show dev vs evetv match and drink heavily.
swearing devs kept to 10 mins or less.
esp like the idea of a 3 or 5 person judgement panel for decisions. try to err on the side of having the match go on, fix things etc, give a penality later.
more graphics to fill dead time also a great idea, details on ships & layouts, previous team setups etc.
good job this time, was fun to watch....

I was thinking a mini alliance promo for the final before the fight with a recorded commentry and glitzy footage of who each team has beat ( a sort of road map to the final).
Also an overlay of the alliance logos during the fight
Action reply might be a little hard because fights are quite static in eve and can last ages. To get it all editied while the studios is talking might be too much pressure.
More ads! The domi love one was funny
Music during the credits scroll
On screen statistics (e.g. the group table as it stands)
For eve tv i'd like to see a weekly ship feature segment where they look at one particular ship

I'd like to see an on screen ticker tape after the match with the Players names on it. I could read most of them during the matches and I'd like to see it so that players get some credit for their efforts ..:)
Also the ticker tape can be used to put the fourm email addy and the Irc addy and email addys for EvE.tv.. and stuff like GS brought 110 points or that kinda thing !!
And where was the "follow the team on the beer" film like they had in the first one ?
All post are made with the aid of alcohol and without the use of a spell checker

Personally, id like to see a better time for the Tournament. I don't know precisely what time it falls in most other countries, but down here in Australia the live stream began at 1am. That made it rather difficult - i loved watching what i could but considering that its mid-uni semester, it makes life difficult, especially when the final here was on early monday morning. Woulda loved to have watched that live :( Missed all the drunkeness :(
Also maybe if the tournament was spread out a bit more. It felt rather rushed - i think that might be the cause for many of the misunderstandings and whatever. Even if you added say 5 minutes more between matches, i mean, thats time for one final points count up for the teams, and 5 minutes more for everyone to get everything cleared and ready for the next matchup...

- Usually, big tournements like the Olympics and whatnot have an opening ceremony to get the sporting spirits up. How about a huge Free For All with all the contestants and have the winner win something small but decent. Doesn't have to be a FFA, just something cool and fun to kick the tourny off.
- What about a sort of "Grammy Awards" at the end? Things like "Pilot with most kills" or "Fastest Totalhelldeath" and so forth.
- Totalhelldeath should only happen if you kill everyone else but ALL your ships survive. THAT is a TotalHellDeath, no barely winning with one Caracal in hull.
- More Dev interviews (even just a friendly hello).
- Give less or no time for teams to see what the opposing team has. Make FC's think on the fly.
- Get the comentators a tool to be able to "draw on the screen" to show interesting facts or things on-screen... similar to what they do in some sports.
- Commentators and experts need EVEMon or a similar tool to check ship attributes.
- Talk more about who and what the alliances are.

I like the sound of getting the applications out sooner... i am very keen on applying again :)
One of my suggestions would be to ask all participating alliances to create a 30? second video clip to represent their alliance, sort of like a entrance theme? I feel this would make the whole thing insanely fun.
Also, i feel there should be a marker above each side of the screen (above the player ships), to basically inform which alliance is which. At times, if you come back half way through a fight, you have no idea fighting, as the text is not always readable
Just my 2 Cents :)

More cowbe- wait, nevermind.
Non-WMV stream/server (OGG vorbis or somesuch? Icecast server so people can set up relays to ease load and record easily? Generally more niceness to users trying to watch it.)
Get a real console and put some dynamics in. I have one you can borrow for next time if you want. Compressors ftw!
Get some parametric/graphic EQ on the mic inputs
Open format- bring the GMs into the commentary booth! Give them headsets! Let them eat cake!
More Stavros in the credits.
More info on the actual points standings
Less aliasing on the stream. 1024k and a real format instead of silly WMV should fix that.
Start the fight before the fleets warp in. Get camera ships at staging points so you can see who has what before the fight.
Interview some pilots. Get people on Skype or somesuch after fights (from the teams) and get their view on how it all went down.
Move the tournament back into August. Much more convenient for a lot of people rather than having it on the edge of September. Start near 1st August would be awesome.

lots of good ideas have been posted in here already. I only have one suggestion at the moment and it could be done now and added to the current tournament page :)
Compile the ads into one video for those that missed them. I quite liked the ones I saw.

Create a pyramid chart showing all of the matches in their progressive stages, with the final at the pinnacle.
Link video replays from the chart, not from some unspecified and unlabelled list, as at present.

On screen graphics.. now and then or every time you cut from fight to studio get gfx with all names.. not fun to get in the middle of the broadcast and trying to figure out who the hell is that dude talking so much bs. and what alliance corp they are from etc.
start timer in teh fight to know how much time it is left on the match..
maybe have a stream of what is said on the irc channel or what you guys call it or from the tournament local.. ive been in some fights and the scenes and things that happen behind the scenes are very valuable and fun.
force every one to use eve voice or something so that you can get audio adn interviews with the teams after matches etc.. or atleast force to team leader to use eve voice to be able to interview before and after the fights

interviews would be fine (imagine an interview before and after the fight with the bob and the SF teamleader =))
faster and ingame updates on the standing (you allready did that last tourney .. dunno why you skipped it this time )
and please keep the relaxed comentators/ experts / hosts its a game show , to much professionalism is bad imo

EVETV:
1) Special first day with a 5 minute introduction of every participating alliance
2) Less alcohol on set (you can have fun without narcotics too)
3) Higher free stream quality
4) Widescreen stream
Tournament:
1) Publicly available procedure detail (gang warping, positions in the arena, countdowns for start/finish) before the tournament
2) Community set rules
3) Sober judges (GMs)
4) No module/ship changing EVE patches for at least 2 weeks before the tournament
5) More advertising for the tournament itself. I don't know of many people who watched it

My 5 isk:
1) Sound quality. Some stuff sounded plain bad this year round.
2) Alliance intros. A quick (1-2 minute) intro about competing alliances instead of the "uuuh, it's those, err.. namtzamarzasszxara... whatevers..."
3) More guests. Just a quick chat or "I do this and that for EVE". Preferably scrubs rather than the bigshots.
4) More tools for commentators to play with (like any other pro "sports" commentators)
5) More shenanigans by the experts and longer time between matches.

[maybe somehow if we could see the timetable for matches, stats and the group information as it progesses would be interesting
more talking time would be nice as well, and since i missed some of it could that be uploaded as well
maybe a quick guide to some things in pvp like certain mods or ships would also be interesting as well as how the ship has been changed since eve's beggining e.g the phoon
