sitting here reading though all the "YOU SUCK CCP, DO YOUR JOB RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE" post, and just thought that ccp programmers really needed a great big friendly appreciated HUG!! for the good work they are doing.
if any of you have any idea what it takes to program you will feel with them..
besides the fact that people are screaming at them for correcting a unexpected error is just nonsense.
i mean, do you start to scream "death and destruction" over your electrician when he is taking an hour longer to correct an unexpected breakdown in the electrical system in your hours?! HELL NO, you give the guy a beer to show some apprenticing for him using the extra time to correct a problem, that basically is bound to happen at some point.
well i just wish that some one at the center could give those employs a great big HUG and a THANKS!

I agree entirely with this post. Considering the size and complexity of tranquility its amazing that ccp keeps such a high level of availability. Their uptimes are incredibly good considering what they are working with.

I have met some of the developers and I can assure you they don't do hugs.
Give them beer instead, but only when the server is fixed.

People don't understand inherits of high end technology. In a perfect world no software will ever stop, no computer ever hang and you won't need even a reset button for any computer, mp3 player, etc. But this is not a perfect world and technology has some inherit problems. Learn to live with them.
Oh and wtb very few mmorpg out there have uptimes so high as EvE.

Agreed, but they get paid for this, and they should a) Test and QA better, and b) have failover solutions

While I wont "hug" as I am an internet tough guy, kudos for CCP indeed.
With how active they are with the players and how they continuously try to make Eve better, a few server issues won't discourage me.

Well unless everyone in EVE is going over to the test server for a day or CCP pays for 30,000 computers+internet connections convienently placed around the world to connect to the server... Quite frankly you can't truely know what's going to change when you get a real number of connections, and there is no way to know for sure.

But you DO at somepoint expect them to at least FIX the problem, you also dont expect for the problem to keep comming back again and again ( in that case most would go use another guy to fix it )

Agreed, if I **** up at work our company loses clients, and sales people like me get fired. luckily I dont loose clients.
