Have you ever wondered what is the best self defense against wild animals such as mosquitoes for instance? CCP Soundwave wants you all to be safe from wild animals so he's written a new blog. Oh,and it also has information about team reorganization and Crucible 1.1., the follow up to Crucible, coming on January 24th.

Mr Bigwinky wrote:Thank you! Was looking for this, and was assured yesterday there would be a dev blog or 2 coming out about it, and hey presto! Another great update guys (and girls) well done.
Edit: When are you going to be releasing specific changes? Like, what exactly has been changed on the AFs?
Yeah, the exact changes will go in the patch notes that should be out shortly.

In regards to full patch notes, I sent what appears to be a final list to all the teams today for verification. Once everything is verified we will publish them and make sure you guys get a full downtime schedule and notes.
I expect this may be as late as Monday morning but there is a small chance they may go out over the weekend CCP Navigator -Community Manager |

The latter. Only the privileged few should see them.

sYnc Vir wrote:More updates on what you are doing to FW would be nice. Cause from the CSM notes most people think your about to ******* ruin it.
Yeah. That's partially why I'm not always terribly excited about talking about feature development at early stages. We'll give more info as we get closer to fanfest, but what we're working on is pretty damn cool. Remember that a lot of this is discussion with the CSM, not designing the actual features. |

Salpun wrote: Is it a "Fuel in pos system moon runs out this date" message or is it something else?
Yes, it dated when the fuel is estimated to run out. It gives the system, moon, name and remaining fuel. It gets updated when ever the fuel is consumed, that is every hour. You can enable the events and the notifications in the new General tab in the control tower management window.

Astrid Stjerna wrote:Vertisce Soritenshi wrote:So...cool with the new changes. Great stuff! But...did I miss something in the dev blog? What are the 3 new teams for? What are they working on specifically? Just curious... From what I read in the blog, it's a managability issue; having three separate teams (instead of one huge 'megateam') streamlines communication. From a sociological viewpoint, smaller groups work more efficiently, are tighter in terms of teamwork, and coordinate better in an inter-group situation.
Yep, this. |

King Rothgar wrote:Good dev blog, I will miss team pink zombie kittens however, mostly because of the epic name.
The reason for that name is because I was on the team.. but I was only on the team for one day - then I was moved to BFF.
Which is funny because CCP Ytterbium was on the team the whole time and hated the name from the bottom of his heart, I think he'll hate me a little bit forever because of it

Miyah Putredas wrote:Quote:Shield bonuses are now applied like armor bonuses. Remember when you got a shield bonus and LOST shield? Yeah that, we fixed it. This apparently affects the bonuses gained from fleet boosters, but does it affect the bonus from Pulsar wormhole effect aswell? What about the changing of ships at a POS? Currently you enter your new ship with shields usually at 30-60% rendering shield tanked ships completely useless in situations where you need to change ships fast and there are no stations at hand (like in wormhole space). Yes, WH effects will be covered by this. When jumping in a pulsar, you'll no longer be disadvantaged compared to the defenders already inside. Whatever percentage shield you had before the jump, you'll have the same afterwards, regardless of the capacity change. Boarding ships in space is also the same. If the ship had 99% shields before you board it, it will have 99% shields once you're in it. |

Heathkit wrote:Just had an awesome fleet fight and it wouldn't have happened without TiDi. Good work guys.
However, it makes travelling home unnecessarily painful. I think what happens is TiDi slows down the main fleet, creating a bottleneck such that everyone tends to clump together in the same system, making traffic control worse. Without TiDi, TC gates would slow down system changes, tending to spread a fleet out.
It might be nice if systems held TiDi longer than necessary after people jump out. That way, people in the outbound system warp to the gate at a comparable speed to the people in the inbound system warping away from it.
Also, if it doesn't already, maybe TiDi needs to "bleed through" into neighboring systems to even out this clumping effect. Just a thought.
I am glad that the work of Team Gridlock and CCP Veritas was worth all the effort and is working in such a good way!
Please use this thread to post your experience with Time Dilation, feedback and suggestions so that our developers have all the important information in one thread at hand, thank you. CCP Phantom - German Community Coordinator |
