Hey,
I have to ask. What did they nerf this last few months? It seems my 1400MM's do hardly any damage these days. I run missions and used to snipe the faeces out of npc's. Now it takes forever to break their tanks. Are the arties nerfed or did the resists of the npc's go up. that seems unlikely because my ravendriving teammates noticed no changes in damage output. I train more and more gunnery skills but i keep doing less and less damage.. I suddenly suck as a damage dealer...
6x 1400MM arties 2x something 2x tracking comp. 1x sensor booster and more somethings 1x signal amp. 2x tracking enhancers 3x gyro's
It seems CCP changed some numbers somewhere. But where?

Tbh the damag of arties was always subpar. And there has not been any change as far as I can tell. My arties still do the same merdiorce damage they always did, and NPCs have the same resists they have had for the past 20 months. Maybe you loaded the wrong ammo?  And which NPCs?

nope,
Same ammo, same guns, same npc's...
I did perfect hit's of upto 1800 damage with that setup a few months ago. Now i hardly get hit's over 400 points... if i am lucky that is. usually less and lesser.
somewhere a multiplier got stuck...

I got pretty much same feeling. But not with arties. You could easily break any caldari navy thing with cerb 1year ago. Now, same setup is almost like p1ssing in the wind(ab+point blank works well, but it used to be reliable from any range)
But maybe just more defender spam as far as missiles are concerned.

More weird stuff CCP does not inform us about... the famous stealth nerfs perhaps.
but my damage output was halved when 2.2 was implemented.
I'll make a bug report.

I think what may have happened is that there are a lot less rats in missions, but they became a lot tougher to reduce lag. I don't know for sure, though. ------------------------------ One more soldier off to war... And one Velator in my hangars. |

Now that you mention it I used to get 1200+ wreckings with 1400's on my maelstrom. That was months ago. Started using it again and did 4 or 5 missions and nothing over 600...on anything. Guess I'll keep a closer watch.

That was an announced change that all runners had noticed. Some missions had a rat change... no biggy.
What i mean is what Lrrp also noticed: A LOT less damage output on arty's for no apparent reason. I'm using all low slots on damage mods and now a raven out damages me in missions after that accursed 2.2 patch. no tank and no damage for arty user's it seems.
I petitioned this so ill put the answer in this thread...
3 more patches with stealth nerfes will pass before that happens i'm afraid.

Haven't gotten in my 1400pest in a while; but I'm sure that if my Wolf's 280s can get over 700 from wreckings, then 1400s can do a darn side better. ______________________

I've noticed something odd on a number of occasions: namely, the hits sometimes do only half damage for the same hit type. For instance, one excellent hit will inflict 800 damage, but the follow-on shot (vs. the same resists, and also an excellent hit) will inflict half that. This bug (or whatever it is) largely robs 1400's of the alpha strike that's supposed to make them worthwhile, and lowers their DPS even further.

A months ago I was flying myself a Mealstrom and a Tempest with 1400mm - I was quite shocked how low my alpha strikes were. I trained Target Prediction up to lvl 4 and I fitted 2 tracking computers on a tempest and tried them on every single class ship in the missions. No succes and I switched to Autocannons now. If this is really a bug, I wonder why ccp didn't saw this before.

not wanting to go against the grain in this thread but..
ive been using 1200`s on my maelstrom and tbh i dont have any problems killing stuff, seems to rip through most targets in a respectable time,
havnt tried the 1400`s though so cant realy comment on those

You guys must be flying Maelstroms, which have more guns but lack the Tempest's damage bonus. -----

Haven't you noticed missions have become tougher? Since they changed the missions with the need for speed and implemented Lv5... I haven't noticed the damage, but I sure tank worse now than what I did before!! - I'm a nice guy!!

Last weekend i used my pest with 1400 guns. Made a few really nice wrecking hits. 2600++ But this was on a pos.
Maybe they changed the speed of the mission ratts or the orbit range on you.... Both those things would affect how your arties hit / dont hit or do average damage...

I've noticed reduced damage with the 1200s on my phoon and the tachs on my abaddon. Tachs used to hit for over 1000, now i'm lucky to see 600 on perfect hits. The 1200s are doing rediculously low damage now.
Conversely, the cruises on the phoon seem unaffected, if not better (although i did train another 2 levels of that skill that gives 2% to all missiles, but woopdedoo that 4% should be so noticeable). And, i haven't noticed any increase in defenders from the rats.
My concern is that if this is not a bug, and is an intended change, it will only reinforce the plague of mission ravens, which i hope CCP is not trying to reinforce (?)

remember a few patches ago they wanted battles to last longer so the buffed HP of ships and they also made rat harder a few patches after that so you are doing the same damage just a smaller percent of thier hp so its less damage over all

Raven drivers should be affected too then ? they are not affected the way only 1400MM users are. Do read above posts again.

They don't know... but 1400MM users "did" get shafted.
I think indeed that they don't know. They just mess up some stats somewhere and see what happens. Well my damage output is now suddenly pathetic. Do fix it.

I fly minny more or less only but with the way missions look now i might go to a raven as missions seem to be taking a fair bit longer now.
I droped the 1400's gona try 1200's if they don't do any better gona use a raven. !

I suck too, but my damage on my arts are worse than before also. I dropped them and put ACs on instead since at least they did something...

I think this problem is affecting all long range guns, arty, beams and rails, but not short range guns and not missiles. Really not good that they acknowledged a problem but don't seem to think it is important.

perhaps it is because of the t2 ammo nerf? T2 long range ammo damage was dropped across the board, and tracking penalties implemented.
load up some regular ammo that is close to the pre-nerf t2 LR ammo and see how you fare, perhaps. I'm sure there are some people out there with charts that show how much dps has decreased. Also, Minmatar close range guns were improved to hit harder but fire slower, so that's why 800's might do more damage. close range gun, close range ammo, vs long range gun, long range ammo.

I got a 2300 once and only 1900 ones for a while.
